This place has got everything! They got pools, a track, skating rink, basketball court, and more! They even have after school open gym! I go to KMS, and every day after school I go there. It's open 3-5, for open gym.
Down here in kettering, the people are really friendly.And the shops have good food.

Quite cramped for a swim meet! Several oddly times breaks that made an already lengthy meet take even longer. The facility was nice, however.
Great place for kids of all ages. The out door water park has 5 slides and the wading pool is 2.5 feet at the deepest point so its perfect for my 5 year old. There is also a baby pool and a toddler fountain area which is really nice. Great staff on duty. They are very observant of all the kids.
One stop for a lot of activities. So many options for summer camps at an affordable price.

As a Kettering resident, I love being able to use the indoor walking track for free. Their hours are perfect for me to be able to walk both before and after I go to work.
Friendly staff, a large variety of activities for kids and adults. Fees are low, and year round things to do. Facilities are clean and always improving.
A great rec center with lots to do: indoor walking/running track, state-of-the-art fitness center, large indoor/outdoor pool, large outdoor family-friendly water park, hockey/ice skating rink, aerobics classrooms, indoor volleyball, indoor basketball, daycare, seniors' activity center, plus afterschool activities for kids, and lots of classes for people of all ages, from babies to seniors.

First class facility. Everything is clean and well maintained. The fitness equipment the same as at high cost gyms. Those of us that work or live in Kettering are lucky to have this available. This is a 24/7, 365 blessing that every community should provide for their residents. Well done Kettering.
I had a wonderful time at the center. The people were very warm and supportive. In no time my taxes were done and I left with a big smile.
I love working out here. They have a wide range of workout equipment, extremely nice staff, and it's never too crowded. It has something for everyone.
We ve belonged to this place for 5 years, and today we noticed that the gym was at a capacity, nearly 50 people, none of whom were wearing a mask or obeying social distancing, not even their staff. No one enforcing hygiene. We complained to the front desk, and we were told no one needs to wear a mask while working out. Nonsense. You can wear a mask while weightlifting. You can have your staff behave like this is still a pandemic and people are still at risk of getting sick. You can limit the numbers to avoid transmission. I m disgusted. If there were a place to report this, I would.
This rating is solely based off of a first impression. I went for a health fair that Kettering Health Network hosted. They offered free exercise classes, a health lecture, and a cooking demo. From what I could tell the center has a lot of activities to offer I would definitely go again. A very family-friendly facility, lots of parking which depending on what time of day you arrive you may have a nice walk to the building. This is a nice size facility.

My friend and I love to walk here. If the weather doesn't cooperate we walk on the track.
If you are a Kettering resident, for the price, this place is amazing. The gym equipment and facility is pretty great. Considerably less expensive than any other gym in the area. I have not looked into the pool or ice rink...but those are amenities that aren't offered by most other gyms in the area.

What a bargain: great facility, great classes (I do Pilates 3x/week), my husband really likes his personal trainer (it's very effective), nice people. We don't use the pools, saunas, ice rink or gym so I can't comment on them.
Where I come from, cities don't have facilities like this. The Kettering rec is a place for the entire family. From the indoor running track, to indoor pool, to skating rink to basketball courts, this place has it all. It even has an outdoor waterpark area for the kids during the summer. If I had one complaint, it would be parking. Always seem to have issues parking so far out, you'd think I was parked at the middle school down the street. The interior could use some remodeling (or even just repairing), but I guess that's what our 2.25% income taxes are supposed to pay for.
I love the treadmills. I can't run on all treadmills because it hurt my ankles. There are good. plus heated baths and pools. can't beat the experience if you live around.
Went for a judo competition, they don't have a food place that I saw only vending machines. These matches are very long in hours ,and not having real food is hard on kids ,other than that nice building
Female manager on staff came up to my wife and I as we were watching our children at the larger pool and told us that this is a family friendly environment and therefore does not condone PDA.............I am 57 and my wife is a respectfully beautiful 40...I hugged her and gave her a smooch on the lips. No tonge,or grope! Really! But I see the majority of your lifeguards with over 70% of their backsides hanging out in front of small children and that's okay!? Whatever.....My family has served the Kettering community for over 30 years including managing the Rec. Pool. Man it has gone downhill on staffing.

Excellent recreational center. Indoor track, basketball hoops, weight room, fitness classes, and indoor pool. They have a seasonal ice skating rink with lockers for storage. Rooms can be rented for parties of multiple sizes. They also have a water park in the back which is accommodating to kids of all ages. The summer camp programs are very entertaining and offer a wide variety of activities.

Great Rec Center for Kettering residents. The yearly pass for my whole family is at an unbeatable price and for what we get access too you just can't find anywhere else.
Great family fun area for many different ages. Took my 9 year old daughter to it and she had a blast. Splash ground area is still open while adult swim is going on (15minute break for kids), has a small looping slide and two large slides. None of the pools are more than 3 ft 6 in so alot of children aren't excluded from the fun. If they are shorter they just have to pass a swim test. Not a bad price to get in either. Definitely a fun day in the sun and water.
Others may call is just a "Rec Center" but I refer to it as The GLORIOUS House of Gains!
Clean facility. But often crowded. And some of there lifegaurds can be a little too whistle happy. But I love the indoor area and the hot tub. The outdoor area is rather boring even for my 12 yr old. But great for babies to maybe 8
Always the way it should be. Whether it is a kids birthday party or a class you wish to take, they always have it covered. Many activities to choose from. Activities for all ages, little ones to seniors, you can do it here.
Excellent parking,full range of equipment, and most importantly very clean. As a Kettering resident I am very proud of the Kettering Rec Center.

I have been going to the rec for over 20 years. It has been over the past 4 or 5 years or so that it has been going down hill. Today was my first visit for this year and probably my last. I waited in line for 45 minutes and was the 2nd person and I almost did not get a chair!! When you open the doors, DO NOT let everyone's kids run down before anyone else and save chairs! You have no idea how much money you are losing because they do not pay, they just run on in. Secondly, you had a total of 30 lounge chairs, seriously?? Where do you expect people to sit? Then there are so many camp kids and to top it off the big pool was not even open!!! You keep raising prices but there are not any improvements and yes I'm a resident.

The Kettering Ice Arena needs to take a look at the GOOGIN ICE ARENA operations including open skates on weekends!!
My kids take many different classes there and attend camps. We are never disappointed and the kids absolutely love and look forward to every activity they participate in I Kettering Rec Center.
