Beware when you purchase an annual entry permit online, the valid dates of the permit will be June to June, regardless of when you purchase it! Also, know that there are two types of permits/licenses, entry and fishing/hunting, annual fishing and hunting licenses are from March to March.

I purchased an annual entry permit in March and used it a few times, when I returned in July, I had to pay. So, basically paid an annual fee for only a few months of use. I called the main office and they refused to work with me to resolve this issue, either to provide a refund or extend my annual pass. Even though on my permit it states the 2020 license year as March 1st, 2020 - February 28th, 2021.

Why are there two different time frames, it would be much less complicated if ALL licenses and permits were on the same timeline! Or, annual from the time of purchase.

Kentucky fish and wildlife makes it easy and fun to fish and enjoy Kentucky wildlife. Information that you need is easily found on there website, unlike other fish and wildlife departments. And the FINS program is fantastic!
