Kensington Volunteer Fire Department (KVFD) is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community of Kensington, MD for over 90 years. The department was established in 1927 and since then it has been providing fire protection, rescue services, and emergency medical services to the residents of Kensington and surrounding areas.
The KVFD is staffed by highly trained volunteers who are committed to serving their community with dedication and professionalism. The department operates out of two stations located in Kensington, MD. Station 5 is located at 10620 Connecticut Avenue while Station 21 is located at 14401 Connecticut Avenue. To become an EMS personnel one must be at least 16 years old with parental consent; pass a background check; complete EMT-Basic training course offered by Montgomery County Fire Rescue Training Academy among other requirements.
