So I'm literally here now waiting on my payment to be processed and I couldn't waste time with the posting of my review. So to start, we wanted to try the bruschetta. It came out on thick toasted Italian bread. . if you're a bruschetta eater, you know this is unacceptable and unenjoyble... not to mention the tomatoes were hot as if they thought it was a great idea to put tomatoes in the microwave before bringing it out... this is just appetizer... ready for dinner? So I ordered a filet mignon with King crab legs... the steak was tender but had a slight taste of burnt to it... I ate that since it seemed as if it would be worth eating since I was spending 25$ on my meal... now to the King Crab legs.... what a disappointment!!!!... this was the reason for our visit.... We didn't even need anything to crack them open.. I was able to turn the crab legs in a three, sixty angle. . it was soft!!!!.. Not to mention that they could have kept their sides... the mash potatoes were cold!!! very cold and the mac and cheese was just simply nasty... when the bill arrived, the waitress calculated it incorrectly charging us 8$ more.... I don't typically even look at the bill for errors, but something wasn't right.... I ran out of this place with the intention of never returning....
Please Avoid
Great place wonderful people fantastic atmosphere love their food
This is a hit or miss. This time my clams on the halfshell and shrimp salad was good. My partners muscles with clams on linguine was just fair, the red sauce not so good.
The food was horrible the salad was brown. Asked the waitress to bring it back got nothing but a nasty attitude. King rab legs were cold in the middle and filled with water. Never will I go there again
seafood and service at this spot is great. Great food with quality ingredients. I look forward to a return trip. This place has a good design. Mood here reminds me of Colorado Springs area.
My wife and I were hoping to find a nice seafood restaurant nearby. We informed the waitress this was our first time there. However this was a disappointment. Her salad had a long black strand of hair in it. The waitress advised she would inform Diana (I assume is the manager). However, no one ever came to address the nasty hair in her salad. The two entrees were extremely bland they had little to no seasoning. Do not get the mash patotoes or shrimp scampi. We decided to skip dessert to avoid further disappointment. This is a seafood dinner, if you are looking for dinner food this is the place. With Covid and restaurants being affected you would think support from a new customer would be appreciated, not here. Yes, we received and paid a full bill with no problem and tipped. I do not usually write reviews but I would hate for anyone else to have this experience.
Me and my family love seafood and we went here and ENDLESS crab legs I am telling you amazing
Ehh experience. Food was okay. The soup of the day I didnt like and you couldnt order another soup, unless you wanted to pay extra. Also not a fan of the linguine, sauce was too sweet; and for this to be a seafood spot, the additional crabcake I ordered wasn't good at all. For $9.50, it tasted like it was frozen, and came out of a box. My Filet Mignon wasn't cooked well done, and had to be sent back to be cooked again. The King crab and Snow crab legs (small but a lot of clusters) were good though. Cooked well, and the butter sauce was tasty.
All In all, nothing special. I'm from NY where we have places like "City Island" that completely represent what seafood restaurants are supposed to be like- so I guess my expectations were a little too high.
Food was delicious and customer service was outstanding! We will be back!
This restaurant has been long a standing restaurant. Always have had exceptional service. Average prices for seafood (there speciality). Always fresh' seafood and exceptional service. Carry other items other than seafood. Enjoy .
This wasn't the best meal I've had. I ordered crab cakes (too much filler) & potato salad (too much mayo). My husband ordered flounder ( which was a better choice) & veggies. It was also not as costly. I'd go again & order something different to see if I liked it.
Food is always good. Drinks are strong. Dining area could use a reno though
Fresh seafood, prices decent, service was ok for being empty. Beer menu ok, could use some stouts, or other winter brews
Classic nice style restaurant and bar they also do cater event's upstairs for parties delicious food and great service me and my mother and father have been coming here for years
Thanks kellys for being awesome!
Great family tradition at Kelly's. Fresh seafood every time we dine there, or take it home nowadays
One of our all time favorites! Good inexpensive food and Kathy at the bar!!
Love this old fashioned American place!!! Food is great and stuff are awesome
My family and I have been going to Kelly s for years. By far our favorite restaurant in NE Philadelphia. Great people and even better food!
Consistently great. There's a reason it's packed on weekends here. Staff is great and food remains top notch.
Great service with a great selection of seafood and other dishes to enjoy
We enjoy to go out. Last night we visited this delicious place which friends recommended to us. We passed a delightful time there with first-rate meal and a well-trained crew and an impressive chief cook. We added this restaurant in our list and we shall no doubt return very soon. We deeply recommend.
Great selection, very versatile, seafood, seafood combos, steaks and pastas. If you can't find something to tickle your fancy in the menu. Something is wrong with you.
Was there on Sunday, July 29,2019 everything was delicious. A great restaurant ...Crab legs, crabmeat, and the drink was good. It was my first time there.
Things were so bad Had to leave kellys before our food was even cooked
My wife and I had dinner on 2/17/21. I ate the Chioppino which was delicious my wife ate the Fried Seafood Combination and got food poisoning! Buyer beware!
Went with my kid and my wife i ordered crab cakes($23.50) they were all mushy filling no flavor and could barely find a peice of crab meat and very very disgusting only could eat one of the two thats how bad they were . My son ordered from More
Excellent decor, waitress and food! The Christmas decorations appeared professionally done. Patty, our great waitress, said the owners do all the decorations. Kudos to them! My Cajun meal of shrimp, scallops and crab meat over rice was superb! So glad we ate there today. 5+ stars this time.
Food really good and fresh, friendly staff, very clean and the price is right.
My husband and I enjoy the tranquility and good food.
Food was deliciousand staff were very professional.
Took my husband there for dinner for his birthday. We both ordered expensive plates. My scallops were sandy. Waitress was wonderful but we won't go back.
The atmosphere is fantastic! The hostess are great and the food is superb!
A very nice family Seafood restaurant, with lots of delicious options.
Good tastey food & great service. I definitely recommend Kelly's.
I would not go anywhere else! Love the food and awesome servers, bartenders! Please make it a point to stop by and enjoy a meal!
Food was not great at all. Crab cakes are nothing but filler with very small amounts of crab meat. Shrimp was VERY OVERCOOKED and rubbery. Mac and cheese worse than boxed Kraft. Will not be back.
Good seafood combo. Poor salad & vegitable selection. Very reasonable at early bird special daily.
This girl Sofia who works here is awesome, she's the best. Ask for her when you come here.
Very good food and clean nice employees will be going back
Fine food memories, are what comes to mind, when talking about this Northeast Philadelphia institution. I went to grade school at Maternity BVM, right behind Kelly's. As a special treat, both, my mom and grandmother, would take us to Kelly's!! I moved away from the Philadelphia area in 1989, and return often, visiting Kelly's, as a must stop, lunch spot! The shrimp 3 way combination, is my go to lunch. The lobster bisque, fresh clams and a "must ask for" dish, of real oyster crackers and horseradish, are also a must have. A trip home, would not be the same without a heaping pile of delicious shrimp salad! Thanks, for almost 60 years, of fine food, friendly people and great memories! Go EAGLES!!
Awsome Food Great service.. Atmosphere is perfect..
The manager? Was sweating. The shrimp had no taste. The bill was ridiculous.
Outstanding crab legs. I recommend the all you can eat crab leg special. The crab is always fresh every time I go here. Delicious and service is usually quick. Staff is friendly as well. Has been a favorite of mine for awhile now.
Quickly became a favorite. Excellent food and great service.
Love this place!! Always busy. Bar is average size with a few high tops near by. Two large areas for sit down meals. Bartenders and waitresses extremely friendly and fun. A wonderful atmosphere to be a part of even if you re brand new. Definitely coming here again.
I have been eating hear for over 25 years, enough said? Great atmosphere, location and yes seafood. Lunch specials, nice bar, all u can eat snow crabs! Great menu, seafood is always fresh and great sides, friendly servers. Great value as well. Nice family place.
A great place to not only get seafood, but to get burgers as well. Every time i go i end up getting one of their burgers. The servers are friendly and quick.
My favorite is the deviled crabs and cocktail sauce. Comes with two sides and salad or soup.
I get mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. It's very good! Homemade taste.
Nice green and wood interior. Nice people.
Good place for seafood friendly staff large seafood menu
This past weekend, we decided to try Kelly 's Seafood, at my husband's suggestion. We were there to celebrate his birthday and he wanted seafood. After arriving and waiting a few minutes for the hostess, we were seated near the back of the restaurant part of the establishment. When we arrived was just before the early bird special and I will attribute the seating to filling up the furthest part of the restaurant first to the order in which seating or server station is assigned. No problem.
Our server whose name I cannot recall promptly came to take our drink orders as we perused the menu. I believe upon returning with the beverages, she shared the specials and other information related to the menu. She gave us a few more minutes, returning to take our appetizers and dinner orders.
The food was fresh and tasted very good. We all thoroughly enjoyed both the appetizers and entrees. Personally, the appetizers were so tasty that finishing our meals for 3 of 4 of us didn't happen.
Our server checked back during the time of our dining and boxed up our leftovers, even serving as our photographer for this auspicious occasion.
Upon our leaving, I just happened to notice that other diners did have rolls and butter, which we did not. Perhaps a slight oversight on our server's part and maybe not even important enough for us to miss. But I did notice the oversight.
The very BEST in philly, try it sometime you'll like it , NORTH EAST PHILLA
I HAD THE SEA FOO D COMBONATION.
A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING
Beautiful atmosphere waitress was good fitted was good price a little high
Love this place. Great food, great service, great atmosphere
love this place .have been going to Kelly's for years
Despite being very busy, our waitress was cheerful, apologetic about waits and kept us up to date as to what was going on with our orders. Three out the four of us ordered the soup of the day which was beef vegetable. It was tasty but it seemed more suited to a cold day rather than a 90-degree day. My deviled clams were pretty bland and consisted mostly of filler with a little bit of chopped clam. Another of our party of four ordered the fried shrimp. Each shrimp was cut in half but attached at the tail. The shrimp were entirely, evenly coated in bread crumbs from tip to tail and each shrimp half was oddly round and it made me think of a bit of genetic material. The person who ordered the shrimp said he had trouble determining which end was the tail. They also gave me the impression of having been processed elsewhere and brought in. I got the same feeling with the apple cheesecake that we ordered to share. A picture of it was on a hanger on the table, along with other desserts that looked to me like they were made elsewhere. I realize that four of us were sharing it but it would have been nice to have more than a couple of forkfulls per person.
Excellent food after all these years..
The Kelly's still keep their seafood quality high and their recipes delicious!
Their soups are top notch!
The fried foods are clean and crisp, you can't go wrong there!
Love their crab cakes and deviled clams!
Broil dishes are to perfection...
Restaurant is clean and comfortable..
Make it a stop...
A Bustleton classic. Kelly s has consistently delicious and affordable seafood. This is a place where regulars are treated as family and newcomers are always welcomed.
Early bird specials are practically a steal for what you get: dinner rolls, soup or salad, two sides per entree, and dessert. Personal favorite is the beer battered cod.
They also offer all you can eat crab legs on some nights, which is always a treat.
The atmosphere and decor is a little dingy, but I think it works for a seafood restaurant.
the food was good, the service was pleasant and helpful
