Have used them for years for fruit and veggie trays for catering gigs. They have always done an amazing job. I call up they have it ready the next day and all is good. Today I call up and and they tell me they can't have it because now cut items have to be ordered by 8am for the following day. (A) I just got the confirmation half hour ago (8:30AM) and called them at 9:05AM, (B) it is for a, one, single, small fruit tray...really? (C) I will do it myself as I have done hundreds of times, but have enjoyed working with them in the past and everyone enjoyed the fruit trays. They must be doing very well to turn stuff away....as a supplier I was shocked and speechless. So, not just to complain but an opportunity to learn. It would have been helpful for the following experience... " Thank you so much for calling and the business you have given over the years. Unfortunately we have had to adjust our cut programs and need to have next day orders in by 8AM. Since it is just for a single small item I would be happy to try and work that in for you but moving forward we have to get the orders by 8AM. Will that work for you this time?" 5 star vs 2 star...happy customer who will be back, not so happy and probably find someone else.

They try to get it right, they just have been making a lot of errors lately. It's all related to staffing and can be understood to a point, but don't over promise if you can't deliver.

I first bought from Kegel s in 1975 for the Rextaurant on King St. Now I am buying for Gypsy Kitchen. Why try somewhere else? Great quality, great service at a great price.

What a pleasant experience unloading here on a Saturday. Some places just makes your day better. This is one of them.

When I need large quantities of fresh produce, Kegel's is the only supplier I've used for 2+ years, and I enthusiastically recommend them to others. Their produce is consistently fresh, clean, and delicious; their prices are extremely competitive, they have the largest cut-catalog on the East Coast and on-time delivery.

It's a great bunch of good guys over there working don't have to wait long for them to load my truck and they are kind and respectful and I love going over there for deliveries

Appt 5Am to 1200PM. Arrived 8:59 AM. 310 cases mixed produce. Unloaded and received paperwork 9:46. Excellent.

Delivery is always late. Multiple Fridays they have never shown up. The product itself is perfectly fine. Their main issue boils down to not enough drivers or poor planning of delivery routes.

Edit. Removed another star for continued missing products and not showing up during business hours.

Picked up Chocolate covered Strawberries. Beautiful huge berries covered with a nice coating of chocolate. Everyone there was pleasant to deal with. Great company with quality fruit and veggies. You can place an order and pick it up there 7 days a week. Great local company.
