I recently had an experience with this facility that left much to be desired. While the staff is generally polite, the level of care provided fell short of expectations. There were moments when it felt like my loved one was not receiving the attention they needed, which was concerning. 🏥

The environment could use some improvements in cleanliness and organization. It's essential for a place that focuses on recovery to create a comforting and welcoming atmosphere, but it felt a bit neglected at times. The activities offered were limited and did not engage residents as effectively as they could.

The overall communication during the stay also lacked clarity, which made it difficult to feel well-informed about the care plan and progress. 🔍 It’s an area that could certainly benefit from more transparency and interaction.

While there are positive aspects here, such as some friendly staff members, the overall experience left me wishing for a more attentive and comforting care environment.

My name is Susan Ofugi, and this is my first time here at Kearny Mesa Nursing and Rehab Center and this facility employees have the best cream of the crop employees and they have been so understanding and compassionate and everyone has been so gracious and kind. First of all I wanna say my roommate Sandy is very kind to me and she makes my transitions here so wonderful for me. At first I was extremely scared but sandy makes me feel comfortable. Additionally, Lou(LVN) she has been like a doctor from the beginning and I think highly of her intelligence. Also, my Doctor Gandhi saw me yesterday and make me assessment and it was amazing because he got my dx right, he is very special doctor and I'm so fortunate to have him. I also wanna mentions Britney
(cna) she makes me relax and she is very special person, and Eva(RN) is knowledgeable and outstanding she is so professional. Ialso wanna do a special mentions to Barbara ( Director of Activities) she is very special lady she makes this facility so much better and I just loved her, I also wanna thank Eddie for being so nice to me and Rheanna (LVN) is such a wonderful nurse because I feel very relaxed around her and I have very fun feelings, plus Karla(cna) is a piece of sunshine and Ty is one of those special people that I connected with she gave me the best shower that I've had and
She is bright and sunny and very intelligent. Lastly, I wanna thank the whole teams for being professional, sincere and real.

Communication skills need improvement. A lot of improvement. People do not return calls, They answer the phone as if they don t really want there job.
The DON or director gets upset if you dispute her.
Not my fave spot

This facility is like being right at home. The staff the therapist and everyone concerned in this facility is like a family. They treat you just like a family. They have excellent food, therapy, and staff. From the administrator Stephen from all the way to the housekeeper Maria, they are nice and attentive. I would rate them 10 stars instead of 5 if I can. I can't wait to Come back.

My husband spent 3 weeks here recuperating from a fall in which he suffered a complicated break of three ribs. I can not express our gratitude for the wonderful care he received from the time he entered the facility, until the time of discharge....The entire staff was wonderful to both myself and my husband...thanks to them he is on his was back to normal...If you, or anyone you know are looking for a facility for a loved one don't hesitate...Kearny Mesa Nursing Center and Rehab is wonderful from beginning to end...

They have a good attentive staff that is responsive to your needs. Therapy is very on point.

Its welcoming, comfortable, and caring. The food was excellent, the best ever. The call light is answered promptly! When you click the button you know someone is coming. Comfort is a priority and they have clean, clean rooms! That s not always the case at other places. It s an excellent atmosphere here.

I have been at Kearny Mesa rehabilitation center for the last two months and first I was very reluctant for sure. Even on the first day I wanted to leave so I notified the nursing staff. It was to my surprise, on a Sunday, I was greeted by Stephen (administration), other staff, and the admissions representative Ms. AMAZING Kayla who has been taking care of me since day one. She makes sure my needs are met and very knowledgeable of the process and helped guide me. She made my stay feel at ease. So if you re considering yourself or loved one staying at this facility you have my recommendation. Tell Kayla I said hi.

Everyone was exceptional kind and helpful they also were understanding knowing you were away from your family. The therapist there were very kind above what you would think and did everything possible for you to achieve your goals and as long as you were willing to work hard to achieve the goals they worked just as hard.

Excellent greeting and service. Food is good. Nursing and CNAs are very good. Kayla is very good with admissions and patient relations. Jennifer and Barbara are also very good Lou and Elisa are great. I have never been in rehab before so these people make it easier to deal with. What I m also very impressed with is the physical therapy team. They are very good with regard to working on my strength and stamina. While my surgery was traumatic, I have every confidence that this staff will help me through it.

When I broke my femur the physical therapy team was great. They put me on my feet. The nurses and aids were sympathetic and available. The food was delicious! I told the PT to push-me and go. They were wonderful. You should never skip the PT for any reason. Thank you so much for your service.
