Great shop with a few locations in Chicago. I used to shop at the Hyde Park location all the time and they have great items there, including jewelry and clothing. Now that I live out of state I'm using their website to buy shea butter and black soap. Very reasonable prices and good quality for both products and the shipping is fast and reasonably priced as well. Will continue to shop here.

I went into the store for the first time today and notice that clothes didn't have a price tags. The individuals make up the price while you are there. The lady that was assistancing me was constantly in her nose and wiping it on her dress while she was talking to me. I felt they were taking advantage of the release of black panther movie.

Thanks so much to Marion, the store manager, for helping me get my garage door opener working again. I was having trouble even getting it open to check the batteries, was visiting a friend in the Castro and remembered how great the service at this store was when I lived in the neighborhood, and decided to ask there. Talk about problem-solving!

This store will meet all your needs., from clothing to jewelry to oil essentials. I purchased a couple things for a red carpet event and received high praises on my look. They guys in the store are very helpful and pleasant.

Employee was courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. I was happy with the varying options of resources made available for purchase. Pricing was a bit high however the quality of merchandise was good. I will return!

I took a picture into the store on 87th and request it to be made. They supersede what I was expecting. If only I could post the picture of what attracted a lot of attention. I recommend anyone to shop here and most definitely request some amazing outfits from the tailor onsite. 5 star quality

Absolutely loved this place. They have great clothing beautiful and well made. They also have jewelry,moringa seeds black salt and other natural products. Candles, material, a tailor and so much more. I will be spending too much time and money in this place

It was the first time I had gone into an African shop looking for a full-length African skirt the young man that helped me even showed me how to properly put it on. They had such a variety even Fabrics that you could have made there oils truly traditional.

I love every one of their shops but this one is my favorite. They have a HUGE assortment of colorful dresses, skirts & harem pants that will highlight your summer wardrobe!

If I could rate them with a 0 rating I would. So I originally chose this place because Alasane was very warm and welcoming. I showed them what I wanted it to look like. I was specific about it being a 2 piece dress and needed it by a certain date. They told me it would be ready in 2 weeks. I called a day before the it was due and they told me "My dress couldn't be found at the moment".
They called me back later that day and told me they 'found it' and it would be ready for pick up the next day. I go to pick it up the next day, and it's nothing like what I wanted. Alasane wasn't there and I expressed my dislike of the dress. His employer with the go tee VERY rude and sexist talking about how he has other customers and couldn't tend to me. It was 3 days of going back and forth with them to give me my money back. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT SHOP THERE. it's not worth the headache .

Great place to shop for African Clothes and Jewelry

If you want traditional African garb this is the place to go. You'll definitely spend some money

Women of all professions must visit. Unique oils, essential body butters. I bought a white dress from this afrocentric boutique and it is exquisite. This is where I purchase my shea butter because it is authentic.

I love, love this African shop! Take your time because there is so much to see and purchase. This is my favorite spot to pick up outfits for special events and conferences.

Their floor is stocked to overflowing with African style clothing, (Male and Female), fabric, jewelry, perfumes and in-store tailoring. Street parking only.

Once you've shopped at either location, or had a garment made by one of their skilled tailors, you may find it increasingly difficult to stay away. The service is always impeccable and personal. Highly recommended!

I love this store! The customer service is impeccable and the trendy African attire is nothing short of amazing! I, not only purchased several out fits but we teamed up for a Fashion show and all of Kayra's outfits on the models were very well received. Kayra's even gained some new customers. Thank the Creator for a wonderful store like this. We need more like it.

The beautiful items will make you getty and the owner and staff will treat you like family. Note it's a bit pricey but they are willing to work with you. They offer lay-a-way and that's great.

I didn't check my bag since I only bought 3 items and the guy did not put my incense in the bag, but he didn't forget to charge me for them...
