Kansas City Building Supply Review

Customer service was poor. It took calling several different salesman to get an order placed. Then a jamb was damaged, it takes over a month to get a new one and it doesn t have routed for hinges. Now they don t want to come pick it up. The double doors I purchased the revels is larger on right side than the left side. Over workmanship is poor.

Rude, act like they are doing you a favor to wait on you. Would not recommend them.

Everytime I've called and ask a question, or gone into the location, they've been condescending. Today he chuckled at me on the phone for asking if they carry a paint grade hand rail. Never again will I attempt to purchase from here.

Awesome customer service. Dan loaded the material all I had to do was open the door.

You have to back in off the street, if you dont want to blind back you have to go down the block to turn around

Whether you are a do-it-yourselfer, or a contractor, this is an excellent place to find building materials. I am so glad to have discovered this place. Personally, I had a GREAT experience with Terry Woolridge. I've probably come here over 20 times so far, and each time it has been a pleasant experience. Sometimes I would call late in the day and Terry would keep the place open for me on my way home. Excellent service. I would highly recommend KC Building Supply.

Absolute waste of time. I had the woman come out to see what they had to offer on a full kitchen remodel. She came out to measure and then never heard from her again even after leaving messages. I ended up spending 18900 at Home Depot for our cabinets. She had here nose to far in the air to call back I suppose.

Rude service, they ordered the wrong trim and when i proved to them they were wrong they did not return emails or calls. They messed up my door order also and they said it would take 4 -6 weeks, it took almost 10.

When they get your order right they are good. My doors look great, but when they get something wrong they just toss you in a black hole and ignore you.

Don t bother to place an order for less then $1000, they don t care about customers who aren t spending a ton. I ordered stair balusters on 7/9, gave my credit card info and was told it would be 1 week. On 7/20 I called to follow up and was told there was no record of the order but someone would call me back. No return call so I called again and once again was told I would get a call back and never did. They don t care about smaller purchases.

Very helpful, I don't know if they're wholesale only, but they have everything for building or remodeling a home!

I went here looking for library trim for our basement remodel. I was helped quickly and courteously. I ll definately return.

They order the wrong color and their after hours help are not very honest, on prices.

Jill was an excellent consultant in selecting cabinet hardware. She presented options I would not otherwise have known about or considered, and ended up purchasing. She was prompt, clear and thorough in preparing a bid sheet and placing the order. Her knowledge was very valuable -- I'm grateful!

Sent wrong door casing for a master bath double door. Doors like cardboard peel apart after painting. Gapping no matter how we shimmed the doors in. Very poor customer service, virtually no phone skills. Waited 3 weeks for 1 pocket door. Ordered 6 handsets, only got 5. Absolutely ridiculous

Seemingly good selection of quality products. Average customer service (at the desk). Perhaps my experience would have been better had I ordered more than a single door.

I asked a salesman named Terry Wooldridge for a quote on windows. His quote came in significantly higher than another supplier. I had ordered three door frames from him prior to asking him for the window quote. He charged our credit card but did not put the order through. We had framers on site waiting for the door frames and he continued to tell me he had ordered them. We are pretty sure he was "paying us back" for not ordering the over-priced windows. I have not worked with any other sales people there but I would recommend not placing orders with Terry.

I work there and I'm in pressed with there products.

I actually wouldn't bother to give them a star. Still waiting for a quote for an exterior front door. Went in to their supply house and really wasn't all that impressed with them. I wasn't a contractor or designer or architect so I don't really feel they were all that concerned about helping me. I had all the information listed on the door I was interested in with specs and everything listed to make it easy for them. He even said wow, everything I need plus your name and address and phone number. That didn't do me much good. Actually I've found that most dealers in Kansas City aren't all that interested in helping homeowners with important home purchases. Sadly, they are only interested in helping the tradesman out. Funny though, most of those products are being used on homeowners homes. Go figure.
