About KAIPTC

Welcome to the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), a world-renowned institution that provides training, research, and education in peace and security. Established in 1998, KAIPTC is located in Accra, Ghana and has become a leading center for peacekeeping training in Africa.

At KAIPTC, we believe that sustainable peace can only be achieved through effective conflict prevention and management. Our mission is to provide the necessary skills and knowledge to individuals and organizations involved in peacekeeping operations across the continent.

Our courses are designed for military personnel, police officers, civilians working with international organizations or NGOs, government officials, academics as well as students interested in pursuing careers related to peacebuilding. We offer both short-term courses as well as long-term programs such as our Master of Arts degree program in Conflict Peace & Security.

Our faculty members are experts from various fields including military science, law enforcement agencies, academia and civil society organizations. They bring their wealth of experience into the classroom ensuring that our students receive practical knowledge that they can apply on the field.

In addition to our academic programs we also conduct research on issues related to conflict prevention and management. Our research findings have been used by governments across Africa to develop policies aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence among communities.

KAIPTC has partnerships with several institutions around the world including universities such as Georgetown University (USA), University of Pretoria (South Africa) among others. These partnerships enable us to offer exchange programs for students who wish to study abroad or collaborate on joint research projects with other institutions.

We also host conferences where experts from different fields come together to discuss issues related to peacekeeping operations. These conferences provide an opportunity for participants from different countries across Africa and beyond share their experiences on how best they can contribute towards achieving sustainable peace on the continent.
