My husband and I had dinner at your establishment on 9/4/18 and were most disappointed.
The service was slow and it was about a 45 minute wait for our dinner to arrive.
My dinner was such a disappointment and a poor excuse for a lobster roll. It was stuffed with lettuce and shredded ?? Lobster that was tasteless. Unlike the lobster roll that I enjoyed this evening from their competitors across the road that was perfection. My husband had baked scallops which consisted of 4 scallops total With a heavy breaded topping that was horrible. The bill was over 50 dollars for a meal that was nothing but disappointing to say the least. My recommendation, don't spend your money here!
Had oysters they were fabulous the poutine was delicious also!!!
It was ok but lobster sandwich was blah..lots lobster but no taste..I did not like and was to much money for me..
The best lobster dinner ever! The coleslaw was great too!
Okay. Next time I would just order a bunch of lobster from seafood market network next door (they will cook on spot) and enjoy on large porch out front.
I had fried whole clams and it was awesome and so fresh. The service was amazing as well.
Haddock dish was delicious. Will go back back to try other dishes.
Best surf n turf ever, terrific service, competitive prices
All of the food was delicious and we were served very fast! I don t normally leave reviews but our pulled pork and lobster diner were outstanding!!! family friendly Great music! Would leave more stars if I could! Must stop by!!! All staff friendly and helpful!!!!!
The food is gross. My steamed veggies were soaked in butter & were disgusting. Low quality food high price.
Food was really good but very small portions for the money. Service was a bit slow and the place wasn't even busy. Would recommend if you're not in a hurry or a big eater
We have visited here many times and always looked forward to our next visit. After this last visit we will not be returning. I even asked if it had changed hands. It was very disappointing.
I have been pretty much a regular here this summer. I have enjoyed every meal! My favorite is the Greek appetizer that has goat cheese, tomatoes, olives garlic cloves in olive oil. You dip, (or spoon!) this mixture on toasted bread! So good, all the fish dishes and other items,( summer salad wow!) like oysters and chicken piccata are sublime. They are closing today, Oct 14, but I will be there in the spring!
Can't miss, great food!
It took an hour to get our food in a restaurant with 3 people in it. They got it wrong twice. The food was cold when it got out, and the order of onion rings was simply onions, fried without any breading. The wait staff were friendly and apologetic, like they knew there was an issue.
Nice place on the way to old orchard. Got twin lobsters for $20.00 that came with fries. Nice and friendly server.
Excellent Seafood, Happy Hour, Service, Atmosphere & Cleanliness
Used to go every visit to OOB. Last visit wasn't so great. I found a bug in my drink and I brought it to the waitresses attention. Her response was it's nutmeg. I didnt realize nutmeg had legs. Needless to say, she didn't even offer to get a new drink. The drink was a rum swizzle which costs $8.50. I wouldn't recommend going here. Their quality has gone down since a few years ago.
Steamers were great. Lobster roll was a joke for the price. Outdoor seating was nice. There ices cream stand is a joke took forever for 2 ice creams!
Great food and portions compared to other restaurants this is top of list next to the landmark.
Friendly service, but was not great. Clam cake was overcooked and mostly "cake".
The fries were pretty bad and tastle like cardboard so did the breading but the fish was good but not thr best
Twin lobsters with fries for 19.99......DELICIOUS! I AM IN HEAVEN......GREAT TINIS TOO!!!!!
Tom was our server, wonderful service and great food ty
Went there with my family we was a party of ten ..now i know its alot of us but if they couldn't have handled it or it was too late they should of said so everyone's food was awful i got a seafood platter it was tasteless n burnt the fries was cold n hard even my poor grandson who was starving got chicken fingers n even those were burnt after waiting damn three hours almost 300$ later very very dissatisfied , disgruntled n disappointed customer!!!! Never eat here again ps ... If any of my fanily n friends visit i wouldn't recommend they eat here
Food was not what I would call great. But was good. Lobster with steamers was little high for what you got per serving. Seafood trio shrimp were the size of cocktail shrimp. Haddock was excellent scallops were bay scallops. Waitress was very friendly.
Great food and service! Can't wait until next season. Fun and exciting atmosphere for all.
Pretty good food except for the fish picatta. It is wonderful. One of the best dishes I have ever hsd.
The seafood is always fresh and the service is always good.
French fries were old and dried out, will not go back.
We had heard about Jumpin Jakes and couldnt believe our luck when we saw it driving in to OOB on the way to the Amusement Park. Car load of hungry kids (my sons birthday) so we decided to take a chance.
Very courteous reception considering the size of our brood, with plenty of seating inside in the shade or our outside. The kids zeroed right in the Pizza, French Fries and Onion Rings, while my wife and I were content with cold drinks.
I am told that one of the boys present is a Pizza connoisseur, and he found the pizza to be one of the best, a pleasant surprise considering Jake's reputation for seafood fare with a gourmet flare.
Everyone was very friendly and I even got to meet one of the owners who is also painter (I was admiring the art work through out when I learned it was his). Very knowledgable & friendly guy, I would have stayed just to chat more with him about his work and OOB, but the kids were anxious to get to the rides.
We moved on fueled up and happy for a great day at the park and beach. Our next visit to OOB we will be stopping in again. I recommend Jumpin Jakes to all my friends, best food selection in Old Orchard and best of all.... you can find a place to park :) Cant be beat!
good service, good amount of food for the price, little pricey well worth it.
The place is easy to find and has a good parking area. The interior is nice and the volume of the music is perfect. The lobster bisque is delicious, the fried calamari are average the haddock picatta very good and the haddock madras excellent. Without the service, four stars. With Ashley as waitress, FIVE STARS!
Jumpin Jake's has been the cheapest spot for lobster, as of May 2016 the twin lobster dinner was $25. For that I give this place 5 stars!!
Our server did not have a clue to either the strength of the beer or the ingredients in some of the dishes. We watched a mouse run through the restaurant but when we told our server she did nothing.. We did enjoy the food we had, but after seeing the mouse we refused desert.
One of the best places we've found for seafood. The lobster is fresh and tender and the scallops are huge and flavorful.
The food was good. The service very good. They are getting ready to close for the season.
Great food well seasoned try the crab chowder and clam cakes also great deal on twin lobsters
The fishman platter was hot and fresh....what a great seafood dinner! Didn't kill my paycheck either
Laid back yet cozy environment. Food was good, friendly service. Off the beaten path.
For a $55. Bill for two people it's very overpriced .Second food was actually disgusting.Certainly was not fresh.Maybe on Monday it was but not Sat night.Up all night, not right for 3days..... Go elsewhere
Was worried because it wasn t busy on a Friday evening. Not disappointed at all. Large group tried lots of different things. Oysters for $1 were super fresh, hard shell lobster was delicious, lobster roll had tail meat which I don t recommend but still tasty, shrimp plate was on point, and blackened haddock sandwich was awesome. Kid and pet friendly.
Had a nice time. Very reasonable happy hour and great bartender. We did get buck a shuck oysters that were decent, but could have been cleaned a bit better. But overall the menu was priced well and their happy hour is extremely reasonable. Will definitely be back to try something else besides the oysters, as the plates came by the bar and looked pretty tasty.
Waited in line for them to scoop ice cream for the people before us for 25 minutes. Absolutely unproductive, scooping ice cream and working the register. Not to mention over priced, and also very rude. When our daughter asked to change her order before we had even paid the woman said "are you serious?" I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. What a disappointment, I could write on and on. Only giving one star because no stars isn't an option.
Family run was fine with me but for 23.00 I expected more than 6oz 1/4 inch thickness slice of swordfish cold hot vegetables .
Have been here many times and both the food & the service are always top notch... even for take-out. Big thumbs up if you are looking for some great food.
Not my favorite place. The fries were cold and the salmon over done. Very few sellections for gluten free.
Waitress was amazing. Gave us ideas on where to go and what to do. We were staying at Wild Acres so she was very helpful.
Good place to eat. Cheap lobsters, and outstanding service!
overpriced. small portions. nothing special. try your luck elsewhere
Food is excellent and the service was very good. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. A must visit place
Overrated, overpriced, tasteless, 40 minutes for a fried dinner to go.
Delicious food..I had the clam chowder...so fresh. The shrimp florentine was seasoned perfectly. Yummy key lime pie!
We absolutely love visiting Jumpin Jake's when visiting Maine. Wonderful and friendly staff, absolutely amazing fresh sea food. And an all around great experience.
Service was very slow. Took 20 minutes to get two beers, before dinner.
We've enjoyed meals on the patio multiple times. We usually do lobster and fish and chips. We have not been disappointed at all. Easy access from Wild Acres campground. You can drive a golf cart there without hitting any roads.
Food wasn't very good I had the scallops and whole clams seems like the oil needed to be changed the mashed potatos were cold. The atmosphere inside was dated.
Food was good, just thought it was a little pricey for certain items. But other than that it was great. I enjoyed the pizza
This place was great! The service was excellent and very helpful! Will definitely be visiting again. Lobster prices are great compared to NY.
Great food but not good at keeping the checks straight.
Dinners were very good and good service. Very casual place.
Food was good. Bar Service fromm Derek was great and the regulars were a blast.
Give them a try.
Wasn't happy with the service. But the food was great. Very dissatisfied.
Prices seem kinda steep but they do give you a lot. We went on a Tuesday with not a lot of people there and the service was still slow. Hostess had a 'tude and was on her phone. Seems like a tourist trap to me and they got me !
Not as good as your but thanks for introducing me!!!
We are locals and we finally decided to give Jumping Jake's a shot. We, sadly, are regretting our decision. We got a fisherman's platter and the portion size was much smaller than we were expecting. The scallops and haddock were cooked well, but the shrimp tasted frozen. The clams are what really earned the one star review, however. They had not been cleaned and were mushy. We ended up not eating any of them.
The service was disorganized when my wife picked up the food. She had been told by the person on the phone to pick up food at the pick up window but when she got there, the hostess told her to pick up the food at the bar. The bartender then confirmed she really did need to go to the pick up counter, then they grabbed the food and brought it to the bar anyway.
Now we just have to determine if we have time to go to another seafood place to get enough food for the family.
Service was not great, everything came out at once. Fried calamari was cold, overall I don't think I would go back again.
This place is awful. I ordered fried haddock with fries and coleslaw for $20. I got a handful of limp fries, a small piece of haddock, and about a spoonful of coleslaw THAT SOMEONE SPIT IN! The prices are high, the food is mediocre, and who knows what's happening to the food before it gets to you. If I could give this place a negative rating I would. My advice, stay away from this place, but if you do eat here it's at your own peril.
Great deal on twin one pound lobsters. Service could be better.
Decor was interesting with vintage lamps spread throughout. Hubby & I got the twin lobsters with steamers which were very good and decently priced. The fish chowder, on the other hand I could barely finish it was so bland.
We had a great time. They were very accommodating with our dog. They let us sit on the patio with her.
The food was a bit expensive but tasted great ans the waitress was awesome!! Would definitely go again!
