Jost van Dyke Scuba & BVI Scuba Co Review

Incredible Dive! Myself and my friend did two dives with James and Colin, they were amazing! My friend who was patty certified was able to be with me as I did the skills test with James, I had previously dove before so it didn t take long for us to complete that, we were able to do it at the dive site. James and Colin know the best spots for seeing sea life or if you re wanting to get your adrenaline going, on our second dive they took us on a incredible shark dive (I HIGHLY recommend the shark dive). Never was I worried about my safety at all, Colin and James did a great job of keeping us safe. Colin who is the owner of the shop was very welcoming and really showed that true BVI hospitality! I know they mentioned that they would actually travel to any island around the BVIs to meet people for dives, so even if you re not able to make it to Jost Van Dyke I still recommend you contact them. There is no one better than Jost Van Dyke Scuba, Colin and his team were absolutely perfect! Amazing people, amazing dive, amazing experience, you can t go wrong with them!

Fantastic private day charter with Captain James touring the BVI s, The Baths, North Sound, Willie T s, Pirates Bite, The Indians, Norman Caves. Great Capt and host, very knowledgeable, history and current vibe of the islands. Thanks James a great day on the water. Highly recommended.

The owner is egotistical and arrogant. He tried to scare us into using his services when we came in asking for fun dive site locations. He is everything an instructor shouldn't be. No one should scare divers like that using sharks as the bad guys.

Something is wrong with this man and he is actively dissuading people from scuba diving. 0/5 go elsewhere.

We really enjoyed our visit - great selection of shirts and necessities for your diving gear and supplies you might need on your boat (beer coozies, Advil, etc). The staff was really friendly and warmly welcomed us. Outside is a cute little garden. Nice vibe - highly recommend stopping by!

James was our dive guide and was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. The dive sites were also awesome. It was truly one of the best dives I've ever done.

Colin and James are the best! My son and Myself booked a dive with James, and he took us off Sandy Spit for an amazing dive, promising sharks and possible manta rays. We saw many sharks and amazing manta rays as promised. Nicest guy around, and very safety oriented. One of the best dives ever. Do yourself a favor and have Colin and James take you to all their hidden dive spots in the BVI! Rick

Captain Colin is a pleasure to work with, making planning seamless. A very professional and passionate group of people at the shop, and amazing excursion options. On our expedition, we were escorted by Captain James who was super friendly and knowledgeable. We highly recommend Captain James, as well as this shop. With JVD Scuba, my husband and I booked a full day snorkeling tour with James and a day trip to Anegada with Colin for our vacation at BVI. It truly was an unforgettable experience, made more enjoyable with James and Colin s witty conversations and great recommendations!

James and Colin truly made the whole experience so much more enjoyable and they are both very friendly and genuinely kind.

They are also very accommodating, and had no issues picking us up from Tortola. It was very clear that their top priority is for everyone to have a great time and experience the beauty of BVI! I highly recommend booking a trip with JVD Scuba!

Let's just say this- the best two days of our trip were because of the the team at Jost Van Dyke Scuba. We chartered a boat for a day of sun and snorkeling with Captain James and couldn't have dreamed of a better day. James had great suggestions for an itinerary for the day, while being very flexible with how we wanted to spend our time. The snorkeling spots were amazing and Captain James was a blast to hang out with. Little did me or Captain James know that my boyfriend (now fiancee) would propose to me during the lunch stop on our charter! If that isn't a mark of the quality of our experience, then I don't know what is.

On another day later in our trip, we did a half-day fishing trip with a father-son captain duo. They were hilarious, made us beginners feel at ease and helped us catch SO MANY FISH, including barracudas. We had so much fun that afternoon and were please to take our prizes to a local restaurant that night to cook for our dinner.

Overall- everyone we worked with at JVD Scuba were very friendly, flexible, and were focused on making sure we had the best experience possible.

Outstanding Experience!

Shout out to Colin (owner) and dive master Ben and Aziz for their awesome support in getting us safely recertified and taking us the "The Playground" for a great diving experience! Everyone had and awesome time and came away with great memories of cool underwater fish, squid, lobster, sharks, all while cruising through a large underwater boulder canyon.

Dive shop has lots of cool stuff to purchase (quality t-shirts, drive equipment, etc.).

Definitely a return customer next time we are back.
