First time. Pizza was awesome!
Appetizer portion seemed small for the price.
On a visit home, my son wanted to try Josephine's. His meal was too large to finish bend mine was the best ever! I chose a margarita pizza.
This place has had the best pizza for as long as they have been open.
Andrew served us well and the food was great. My wife had the buffalo pizza and I had the lasagna!!!! Both were grand!!!
Pasta was good. Two people in our group ordered medium rare steak and it very over-cooked! But the service was absolutely fantastic!
Pasta was awful. Way too much sauce. Looked like they just dumped in on the linguini out of a can. Would not go back for the price....
The pizza is fantastic probably some of the best I've had in the green bay-fox valley area also I would recommend the Italian wontons as they are just as good. This is a must try restaurant!!
Love love love their rolls! We had an even catered by Josephines. The food was really good as well as affordable! Did I mention the rolls??
Amazing food, great atmosphere, well priced! Family friendly.
Hands down the highest quality food I have had since moving to the Green Bay area. We had the "double dough" pizza with extra cheese. It was clear that they used fresh, quality ingredients, and I was honestly shocked at how reasonable the prices were. I have paid much more for way less satisfying food many times, since moving to the area. The restaurant has a cozy and inviting atmosphere and while the decor is definitely dressed down and casual, it has a polished feel that gives the impression that it could be pretty fancy if it wanted to be.
The pizza itself has a very unique flavor unlike anything I have ever had. I detected a hint of Rosemary in it somewhere, which is normally among my least favorite seasonings, but the flavor was blended with the other ingredients to such perfection that I think I might be changing my mind about this herb. Perhaps I've just never encountered anyone who knew how to use it properly until now. The 14 inch double dough pizza offers a generous portion for the price, partly due to the chewy crust, delicious in it's own right.
This pizza is special, folks. I can't stress that enough. If you're anything like me, you have a certain thing you are seeking out when you have a pizza craving. Likely the greasy, cheesy, satisfying but somewhat bland pie that larger chains have been offering us all for decades now. This pizza does not deliver that familiar flavor that I originally set out to have; instead it was so uniquely good it made me question why I have been living in such a culinary bubble for so long. It's not the type of pizza that I'm going to want every time we go out, but at the same time, it's also the kind of pizza that I know I am inevitably going to have a craving for, and when that happens, there will simply be nothing else that will do. I wouldn't at all be surprised to find out that there are some locals who will *only* eat Josephine's pizza.
The service was professional and attentive, I have absolutely no complaints in that area either. This place proved to be an absolute delight to visit and I plan on going back very soon.
Take out order was timely, attentive, friendly staff got my food to me efficiently.
Delicious everything. I was very surprised by the reviews but experienced it myself and I have no complaints at all
This place was nice, I was in town visiting a family member who recently moved to the area and wanted to check out Josephine's though said they would not want to go alone.
Upon entering they noticed the bar and how the restaurant was set up and said "Oh this would be a great place for me to come by myself".
It's a small cozy space with a small bar, wine options, soda, mixed drinks, e.t.c. There's plenty of seating for small groups which look to be set up to accommodate a larger group.
We were seated and began perusing the menu which was rather extensive. I think the menus could use an upgrade, they felt and looked old. Many items no longer on the menu were just crossed out with sharpie. We both ordered small 10 inch pizzas. I was really intrested in the pasta but I found the prices rather steep and didn't know exactly what I was getting. I had no idea what to expect portion wise, was the pasta fresh homemade in house? And what about the cheese? I make my own homemade pasta and mozzerella at home and can be rather particular. Pasta tends to be rather cheap to make and price range just was not what I would spend on a first time visit.
Before our food arrived 4 tiny garlic knots arrived at our table for us to enjoy which were very nice. A little dab of sauce would have made them perfect.
We both rather enjoyed our pizzas I got the margherita pizza. Salt was all I needed to make it perfect.
Service was good and made even better when the waitresses brought us separate checks without even asking. This was great as my dining partner was a bit of a stickler on paying their portion only.
Overall I enjoyed my visit, would return if it was an option on a return visit to Green Bay.
The food was really really bad and my boyfriend got sick afterwards
Delicious food with a friendly staff. Love eating here.
Nice atmosphere. Had the Supreme Pizza - very tasty and fresh. Great sauce! The garlic knots that came with our order were delicious.
We arrived and had to ask to be seated. The place was not overly busy either. After we were seated the waiter never came back to ask us if we wanted anything to drink. We waited about 15 minutes before we decided to leave. On the way out the waitress said thanks you for coming , we then pointed our that we were never served and kept on going!
Went there Hungry left Hungry. After waiting for over 30 min.pizza arrived cold.they took it back to reheat.came back with burnt crust.WILL NOT RETURN.
im sure its fire and in fifty nefty map Thomas johnson middle school class of 1999
Nice small Italian restaurant with great food and atmosphere. Would have rated it 4-star if service was a little better, but definitely worth the wait. Pizza, pasta, and dessert...Yum! They do serve wine, beer, rail drinks and coffee.
Delicious pizza and friendly employees!! Love being able to support such a wonderful small business in GB/Howard.
Very friendly staff in person and on the phone when ordering delivery! Food is great every time!
My husband and I traveled to Green Bay from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to do some shopping. We came across Josephine's by chance and decided to stop for a late lunch. We had a lovely casual dinning experience. We enjoyed the quaint and intimate atmosphere. The waitress was simply wonderful. She suggested the garlic knots as an appetizer and they were so delicious! The entrees were excellent. We had a wonderful time and will definitely will return to this restaurant the next time we are in Green Bay!
We ordered a thin crust pizza. It was amazing! I was so pleased with topping/sauce/cheese ratio. The sausage was really good. You can tell there are fresh toppings on the pizza. The crust really stands out as being delicious. I believe this is my new favorite pizza place. We also tried their pizza won-tons. They were really good as well. The side salad only had one tomato slice and some red onions on it. It would have been nice to see more things in the salad, for instance, some croutons, or a slice of cucumber. Overall, a very great pizza place. We will be eating food from there again.
Dont bother!! High school kids running kitchen. It all started south with the soup cambells would have been a upgrade. Shortly after the garlic rolls arrived they were almost burnt on the outside, and doughy on inside. now that the soup had been pushed aside half eaten, and staring at rolls that made me wish i would have chosen the pillsbury dough boy. I now sat and waited over 30 more minutes hoping the next $30 worth of food would make up for the sub par appetizers. now we decided to leave the waitress told us basically we couldn't we asked for a manager. The high school kid that was polishing wine glasses behind the bar went to the back removed his ball cap and came back as the manager. need i say more just dont bother!!! the fish turned out bad and over cooked chicken.
BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD. Quality ingredients and it's a smaller family owned restaurant.
Frank is a good guy who knows how to run a business. I use to work for him and continue to visit and enjoy the greatest pizza on the planet.
Garlic buns were a bit dry....remember them being SO much better in the past. Dropped $100 and left a 20% tip....never got a thank you from anyone as we paid and left.
My favorite pizza in the area!! All the other food on the menu is just as awesome!
The service was absolutely great. However the food wasn't so much. Food was bland and way over priced for what they cooked.
The setting is nice and the food has great potential. Unfortunately it's a hot mess. The staff wouldn't break the age of 40 if you added all 3 of the kids together. We sat unnoticed for 15 minutes. After approaching our waitress, she told us "I'm sorry you didn't realize I wasn't your waitress", this was after the kids had argued who was getting what table (we were positive who our waitress was supposed to be after witnessing the argument). The couple next to us had a drink order delivered, the same waitress said "I hope your drink is good, I've never made one before". They placed their food order, the same waitress said "Wow! What a complicated pizza", the customer apologized, the waitress responded "Its ok, I don't have to deal with making it". Another couple had asked for their bill 3 times before receiving it (from a different waitress). All of this took place on a Saturday at 6:30, I am assuming this was their "All-star" staff, reading back some of the other reviews.
TLDR: The restaurant is lacking management, the food is "okey doke", service is appalling and I wouldn't dream of returning, my wife was actually in tears at our table.
the food is great. staff is professional and friendly. prices are reasonable. food arrives hot. not much wait time. love it here
Owner of this place is extremely rude. We will not be going here again.
Best pizza in green bay, Italian food is delicious as well
Best pizza sauce in town and the staff is super friendly
AMAZING PIZZA best in town. Love the atmosphere. The variety of Italian dishes are great. Quaint, cute with a friendly staff
The Pizza was ready when we got there. The Pizza tasted great. The only thing I would like to see different is the crust was not crisp and seemed under baked. We will be back.
Quaint little restaurant - service was excellent and the food was outstanding! Best pizza I have had for a long time, and the complimentary garlic bread pieces were amazing. Prices are very reasonable, too. We will definitely make Josephine's a regular stop!
Service was good, however it's a bit pricey for the quality of the meals.
This pizza place is a hidden place, but it is so clean and chill when you go in. The appetizers are all amazing. The simplest pizza, the Margherita, is amazing. Just the right sauce with the right cheese that gives it a good touch to the soft bread. I would go here again if I wasn't going back to Florida.
Love that all the dishes are home made, no bagged sauce like Olive Garden or wherever. Amazing pizza. Authentic Italian dishes can be pricey but is worth it.
I've never been to the restaurant, but we get food delivered once in a while. The portions are ample, service is quick and the food is fabulous! The only bad thing about Josephine's is trying to figure out what to have, because it's all fantastic!
We always enjoy our time at Josephine's. Their food is always very good and service is great.
We ordered this pizza for the first time on 8/5/2016. After a $49.00 charge for 2 large pizzas it was delivered in UNBELIEVABLE condition. The pizza had slid all over the place, making some areas crust alone and others piled with ingredients. We all took our first pieces, after re-assembling it. My 5 y/o grand daughter spit it out coughing! After asking what was wrong she indicated something was very hard and hurt her teeth. My husband and I proceeded to take a few bits, a sure as heck, something very grainy....like chewing on sand/glass! IT WAS AWFUL and we will NEVER order again! I rated this "1 star" only because there wasn't a "0"!!!
Disgusting. Too much butter and grease. One of those family restaurants that should stay just for family. Alot of these 5 star reviews are from employees and family.
Food wasn't as expected, and service was slow for the only people in restaurant.
Tried to call and order delivery. Directed me to eats street, where they don't have same menu. Even went to the site to have them tell me they can't deliver because they're drivers are swamped. Called to try and figure out and they told me they don't have delivery drivers... Need to adapt to the times... Won't order there anymore
One of my favorite places to eat. The pizza is absolutely amazing. And every pasta dish is delicious. I recommend the garlic knots for an appetizer.
They are open Saturday nights! Google has it wrong. Delicious food!!
My wife and I went there about 8 years ago, when we first moved to Howard... And we just hated it... Never went back it was that bad. This past Friday, my employer had food brought in from there, and again... Not good. . I would advise going someplace else, there are much better restaurants in the area.
Lasagna is to die for...yum-o-la!!! Friendly family run restaurant with smiles and great service. It was also great to be able to smoke on the patio while enjoying my merlot and I was allowed to tie my cat out with me while dining...I'm just passing through and stumbled on Josephine but went back the next night while still in town. Save my place will ya...I'll be back!!!
We stayed at Lipsky s on The Bay 20 min outsides of GB. They was kind enough to deliver for a super reasonable rate. We ordered the Deep Dish Chicago Pie We added pepperoni, onions, and Canadian Bacon. It was ahmazing. Best crust, sauce, seasoning and pie I ve had in 48 years!!
How fresh should taste!!
We had Josephine's cater appetizers, a pasta buffet and late night pizza for our wedding in Green Bay. Owner was easy to work with and down to earth. Magnificent Italian food at a great price, highly recommended!
Wonderful. Their lunch buffet is what I enjoy. Sauce makes a pizza for me and this is one of the best I have tasted. Garlic knots are one of the best I have had. Pleasant atmosphere.
Great and affordable catering. Generous portions, on-time and friendly delivery. Food was piping hot when it arrived.
The beat pizza I've had! Definitely worth your time & money! The owner is super friendly & very appreciative of your business!
Just a fair warning, we had ordered for a pizza and garlic knots. Said to be ready in 30 mins. We showed up a little late and had us sit for another 30 mins while other costumers came in and walked right back out from not being helped... when we paid our bill she said 4 dollars more then the originial price she had told me on the phone, she says because they put a tip on it. That s fine, I m ok with tipping for people who just bring me my food, I get it. But when I gave her two 20 s she looked at us and said you don t need the change back right, it s only 3 dollars. We said I guess, and left puzzled... I had tipped them 7 dollars for me having to sit and wait an extra half hour, extremely hard garlic knots, but pretty amazing pizza. Not to mention they said they were closing at 7:40 and the door says there open till 10pm not sure what that was about, and not sure if we will return. Awesome pizza tho.
Chicken a little to salty. Rissoto was like rice pudding.
My absolute favorite thing here is their garlic knots, I would go there just for those they're that good
horrible horrible horrible place. the owner is an awful person. We waited two hours for our delivery and I called and asked if we could just have it remade and pick it up (since well live 3 minutes from them). The guy on the phone was very understanding and agreed with me. I drove to go pick it up and as I was leaving the building this man came out with the food and was super rude saying "the delivery is probably better than this because I felt rushed since you came here to pick it up". I was at a loss for words. On the way out with our order his hostess goes "I am so sorry he's so rude". I called back to talk to the manager who I orginally I talked to which ended up being the same guy who was rude to me. Turns out he is the owner. He started screaming at me saying I was out of line and he was just "trying to warn me". Long story short (and yes theres much much more to this) I have NEVER been treated the way I was at any establishment ever. He does not know how to run a business or treat customers. I was more than understanding and he just wanted to be right.
Love this place!!! I am so picky about alfredo and they have the best. Creamy pesto is spot on/amazing as well. I would love to see this place busier cuz I dont want to see it go anywhere. Service is always decent and the atmosphere is clean and peaceful. Only thing I would change is the chicken. It is good, but not great, which is vital for chicken alfredo. I do agree with the super young workers not understanding how to do their job right or wait on customers. Today's youth...
We love there fresh sausage and pepperoni, with a side of garlic knots.
Went there with the family. I ordered a meatball sub which was very bland. The rest of my family ordered pizza....we all had upset stomachs that night. Will not return
Food was five star. They were busy for a Monday but Taylor our server did awesome. Best tortellini I've ever had. Specialty drinks were top notch. Truly a great 10 year anniversary dinner for my wife and I. We will be back!
