If you plan on going to the zoo be prepared to walk uphill there's a lot of walking it's almost like this zoo is built on the side of a mountain

So many childhood memories... one time the peacocks had babies... they were the cutest. This is a great place for kids.
Always fun. Small enough to do in an afternoon which is nice with little kids.
Great fun for the family and everything is still reasonably priced.
Great zoo and local place to take kids and adults as well
I grew up in gr and was a zoo volunteer there in '80-'81 and loved it been back a number of times and could see its growth, this last time though I could not find the snakes..I saw the fish, frogs and toads, turtles, but no snakes : ( jbz used to have a decent collection of snakes, and giant tortoises that were cool to look at..the big cat exhibit was ok but I am older now and walking up all the steps takes some effort but not bad...the animals appear to be well cared for that's what matters. There are many educational programs you can attend and learn things about the animals at the zoo..I'm hoping the zoo expands their wildlife of the great lakes at some point, admission is a little pricey, but not aweful. You can add to your zoo experience by packing a lunch and enjoy it on the property before or after you walk to the ticket booths.
Warm environment, fun, safe plce to gather with friends, educational
Adorable zoo. I was surprised how many exhibits they crammed into such a small space! Great for a day trip. It doesn't take a whole day to see everything.
Lions, tiger's and bears not Oz but a beautiful place with a lot to see and do!
This is a childhood favorite of mine. Great prices and a well mantained zoo.
Beautiful place. Beautiful animals. My family had a great visit to the zoo.
Been here couple times as a child & I enjoyed it very much! Lots has probably changed in the many years since ive been there! Would like to go back soon!
Nice place, animals were laid back enjoying raining day.
Loved it! For a small zoo, it had lots of different animals to see.
Was a very nice atmosphere and a good place to spend time with the family.
Had a great time here for my birthday! It was my first time and I was very impressed. I loved that it was hilly and a good workout. I also thought it was in great shape for how long it has been in operation
Great zoo, our family had a great time visiting from Cincinnati.
Great zoo with humane enclosures for the animals. Staff was great at answering questions. Fun interaction with the animals. Clean and well maintained. Well laid out zoo.
What a beautiful day at the zoo! So many new and exciting additions. The only bummer was admission price don't match what their website says. For families on a budget I suggest calling for admission prices ahead of time so there are no surprises at the ticket window.
They have tigers!!!! Wonderfull place to spend the day on your honeymoon.
Great place for kids and teenagers. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Not many animals alot of booths trying to sell you food .We were disappointed in the zoo
I really enjoy this zoo, while not as big as some (Detroit, San Diego) it's well done and I like the improvements they've made for the animals well fair over the past few years.
Lots of activities for children. Build a tee pee. Pet a goat
Still open during corona, limited entry into some enclosed spaces. drinking fountains are closed off and bottled water is exspensive :\ bring a drink
Probably the best zoo I have ever been to. Animals were great, enclosures are really cool, food was good, and fun activities.
Alot of non animal things for the kids and camel rides
Get a membership and hang out all summer. Their summer program, zoo school, is one of their favorite activities.
Love the expanded trail system, and the landscaping gets better every year. Great place to get your exercise while enjoying the animals and scenery!
Fantastic time at the zoo today!
Proud of John Ball Park Zoo!!!
It s a decent zoo for the kids, not very big. Everything is priced like an amusement park though, overpriced.
great place its clean and a great attraction for families
Nice little zoo. Lots to see and do with kids of all ages.
Love animals! But when they pace back and forth, makes me cry!
Great place to visit with kids, the zip line was amazing! Definitely will visit again.
We love this zoo, lots of shade and well kept. We ll be visiting again.
It is a good place 2 take the family 2 c all of the animals
We visited for the zoo goes boo and had a blast. All staff were friendly and helpful as always.
It was fun to see all the new changes, Legos sculptures
Nice city zoo. Just wish it was a little less hilly, as that can be difficult for people with mobility issues.
It is an excellent place to visit, children learn a lot and you relax a lot
Great zoo. We got a family pass for the year for $65. Great deal.
Beautiful well kept zoo with ongoing updates each year. Price is right too!
Super fun zoo large enough to have interesting exhibits but small enough to see in one afternoon
A lot of the animals that they advertise was not there, otherwise it ok
Been a member since September. It is an amazing zoo that is perfect for family fun. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The new lego exhibit was great, the kids loved it. I like how they remodeled the entrance. There were a few new animal exhibits since my last visit 2 years ago, so those were a nice surprise as well.
Kids had a blast. I am a member and I will be a member again next year.
Always a fun experience. Staff are great and knowledgeable about the animals.
Great setup! Most of the walk is shaded! Amazing for any age! And ridiculously fair in pricing!
Great place to bring your kids or family. Adult activities as well as fun kid areas. Would highly recommend.
