I grew up in gr and was a zoo volunteer there in '80-'81 and loved it been back a number of times and could see its growth, this last time though I could not find the snakes..I saw the fish, frogs and toads, turtles, but no snakes : ( jbz used to have a decent collection of snakes, and giant tortoises that were cool to look at..the big cat exhibit was ok but I am older now and walking up all the steps takes some effort but not bad...the animals appear to be well cared for that's what matters. There are many educational programs you can attend and learn things about the animals at the zoo..I'm hoping the zoo expands their wildlife of the great lakes at some point, admission is a little pricey, but not aweful. You can add to your zoo experience by packing a lunch and enjoy it on the property before or after you walk to the ticket booths.

Had a great time here for my birthday! It was my first time and I was very impressed. I loved that it was hilly and a good workout. I also thought it was in great shape for how long it has been in operation

What a beautiful day at the zoo! So many new and exciting additions. The only bummer was admission price don't match what their website says. For families on a budget I suggest calling for admission prices ahead of time so there are no surprises at the ticket window.

The new lego exhibit was great, the kids loved it. I like how they remodeled the entrance. There were a few new animal exhibits since my last visit 2 years ago, so those were a nice surprise as well.
