Jerome Golden Center for Behavioral Health Review

The Jerome Golden Center for Mental Health is a special safe haven and much needed help for people who desperately need it. We need to start realizing how many people in this world have mental health issues and need help. If we are to make our world a better place to live in we have to let go of the stigma of mental health and help these people turn their lives around and live meaningful lives. This is a center that needs our help so they can also help more patients change their lives!!!! Let s help make a difference!!!

I contributed the services of the Jerome Golden Center for saving my adult son's life. He was depressed, suicidal, addicted, hopeless and had no insurance. Today he is 1-1/2 years sober, happy, healthy, and a productive member of society thanks to the services provide by this center and their Co-Occurring Unit. With mental illness and drug abuse being at an all time high there is not enough staff or resources in our community. I would like to see Palm Beach County residents support this Center so that there are enough resources to help all our families in need.

Staff is extremely rude and short with you. I understand they have to go through a lot with their patients, but to act they way they do with family who just want to see their loved one get well is absolutely unacceptable.

Absolutely horrible place. I was suicidal and checked myself in voluntarily. in 2015. I had no insurance so I could not be choosy. They put 4 beds on the floor in one big room and kept the lights on all night. I complained about the noise and was told they could not do anything about it. Nasty night techs. Nothing to do all day, no groups. So glad this place shut down. I wouldn't send my dog there.

I sincerely hope you never find yourself in my situation where this is your only hope to get the medications you need. I work for a nonprofit so I making no money, I have crappy insurance and this is the only place I could find to take me. But I almost wish I had chosen not to go and dealt with it in a different way. I never saw the same doctor twice because they all kept leaving except for this last doctor, who was very unpleasant. Multiple times I had my appointment rescheduled unexpectedly to a time where I could not go and then they wouldn t refill my medications without seeing me but couldn t see me for months at a time so I would have to go months without medication. All the while suffering terrible withdrawal effects. Trying to get anyone on the phone is impossible. Trying to reach the operator, the phone rings and rings and then hangs up on you. Trying to make an appointment even more impossible. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt over months and months of treatment, but in the end this is the worst clinic I ve ever gone to. I hope this is helpful and you re able to find a clinic that will be able to help you more than this one can.

Do not ever go here! It s a complete waste of time coupled with incompetent staff!! I had a follow up appointment for 8:30am and literally sat there for 3 and a half hours because they refuse to do their job. Had to speak to 3 different staff who had no clue what was going on and told them I had a follow up but said they don t book follow up appointments and you just have to wait until they get to you. I needed my meds and the pharmacy said they couldn t fill my scripts unless it was written by one of their doctors. Also, got turned away for treatment by their other facility in Belle Glade. Not even joking about that one!!

Had a friend there. I think they do the best they can. Although they tried my friend came home talking looking good. Although she lost some of her Joy. It's good she was off the streets, but now she's picked up where she left off. Sad situation, but can't blame them for her personal decisions.

Treat their patients very poorly and waste of time just to entrap you as a clinical client and abuse out patients with relentless neglect of helping people in need and they do not uphold to any of their standards posted and hung up on the walls the will trick you and treat you like a dirty human beings they are super lazy and full of power tripping staff. Would never recommend for anyone genuinely seeking help or trying to improve themselves.

This place is mismanaged like crazy. Went there for medication management and had my appointment pushed back two times by their own fault for constantly being understaffed. Better off going to a private practice. 2 months is way too long for people to go without medication who desperately need it for serious mental health issues. Management should be ashamed.

RUN, RUN-and run fast. This place is like a jail cell absolutely horrible. The right hand has no clue what the left hand is doing and Janice the administer that missions lady on my god what a joke. This place should definitely without a doubt be shut down tomorrow. They were giving my daughter seraquil sleep medicine at seven in the morning, took five days to get her luggage and personal belongings that actually she never got until she left the facility after the fifth day. The detox room in dark and dreary with jail cell doors and no Clock. The food is absolutely nasty and I wouldn t even give it to my dogs. They never checked on my daughter they just left her there in the room. Upon leaving they weren t going to give her the birth certificate, cigarettes or one of her personal bags. When you don t see pictures of a facility there s a reason. It s primarily African-American with maybe one Caucasian person attending and or working there. By the way it s primarily a mental institution versus a substance-abuse rehabilitation center. Once you sign yourself in voluntarily you need to be signed out by a physician remember that if you love your loved one don t send them there one from my mistakes!
