Wow, I just read the reviews and wanted to leave yet another. I am an uber driver, one of the good ones, and a bus hit me from behind at a local university. The accident was 100% the fault of the bus driver and company yet my deductible was still not waived. But, they were kind enough to say they would "try" to obtain my deductible and get it to me. Geez thanks! loser company! They also use a useless car appraisal service which took a month to complete the task.

I tried to work for this company despite the negative reviews found on major review sites. Company looks good on the surface but the diversity in the people employed there is very nonexistent. Very awkward interview and do to my non american last name, I believe they were expecting someone different and a decision was cast as I walked in the door to interview. Those employed there are paid well because they deny a giant bulk of their claims. Several personality tests are done to see if you are the type of person fit to do this kind of dirty work...for an entry-level position...hmmmm....

I would say its googles fault for not providing me option for zero star. James river is thief and uber is thief. Now I understand Why company like uber and lyft use james river- Its because thieves come together when they are chased. I wish both these company go away. I would give great party to all of you guys on the day uber And james river close.

WORST! My car was hit, they won't pay nor go after the other insurance company for my deductible but waiting on my police report to get the insurance company's information to probably try and bill them for damages they won't pay for! Gave me an estimate by looking at pictures! Austin is a very unprofessional person! Called him 3 times, he never called back! I had to keep calling! Stop driving for UBER! I am!

This insurance is worst than any other companies, my estimate is $707.41 from this company and $1,000 deductible, Im a technician my self, i used to work for couple of auto body & fender, & tech for import cars been a mechanic for 24 years and now a technician for Hvac. Called the dealer & my rocker panel which cost only $201.21. Which is just a trim that don t need to be painted and just a touch up paint for the chipped that uber customer opened swang my door hard and hit another car, I would rather do the repair my self than pay that deductible, i probably wont do uber anymore. This Insurance is a ripped off, never ever going to deal with this insurance anymore

neither they fixed my car nor they paid for the expenses. if you call them it will go on message , they are not picking up their telephone. My car was in accident and now it has been almost a month or 28 days , still my car is in their storage , each day if luckily I get them on the phone , they make different stories. now look at this what they are doing.

Biased, extremely slow adjuster took a month to award inadequate fault, during which she inaccurately recorded my information, took days to return my calls, and demonstrated a concern for nothing other than minimizing her company's pay-out. Steer clear if at all possible.

I was in App and enroute when I was hit by a car , my adjuster has don e almost nothing , not even answering her calls , I'm injured and no help at all. My car is sitting for 12 days to get confirmation to repair . Worst insurance Company , that doesn't personally inspect damaged cars . All done by photo's . Does not care in the least I was injured . If a Rider was in my car they would immediately help Rider as a driver neither Uber or their carrier care about partners . We're on our own .........................................

I was hit by an uber driver while waiting for the green light @ an intersection. The driver admitted fault and have processed the claim, however, their agents and call center employees are deflective in their comments and really make you chase them to get what you need. They only operate on their business hours which is typically a small window for anyone who is working a typical 9-5. I have been hung up on several times trying to get some assistance to get my vehicle fixed. By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. This company must be avoided at ALL COSTS.

I don t know if I deal with a professional insurance company or a game player. I got hit by a bus my car damaged and I m injured. My adjuster has done nothing for couple times on the phone. For almost 8 days , the only things they ask for it is photos , document ......
James river insurance don t have a professional person inspect your damages , all done by photos. To avoid all headaches hire a lawyer to work for you . Even Uber they don t care . You are at your own . It s the worst insurance company in United state.

They shouldn't even have 1 star! This is the worst company to deal with. I was hit by an Uber Eats driver on January 5th, blasting music with a baby in the car. The driver claimed she didn't have her insurance card on her so I took a picture of her drivers license and her car plate along with calling her cell phone to make sure I had the right number. When I called the number the next day a male called back saying he just got this phone number...blah blah blah. We filed a police report and submitted a claim to Uber. Our adjuster took weeks to get back to us, then he was let go and our claim was transferred to another adjuster who claimed she couldn't get a hold of the driver so they were closing the claim out and Uber was not liable. Mind you the accident was January 5th and after numerous emails/calls to James River they told us today April 17th they were not liable.

They specifically said that they would cover my hospital bills when i was hit by a car (that they covered!) and now 1.5 years later i am still dealing with this. Now 9 months pregnant and mid a pandemic i can't seem to get anywhere on this. You guys need to do better.

Someone from Uber ran into my house recently. I had video, 3 eye witnesses, and even recorded the plates. The police found her guilty of hit and run....but James River Insurance Still denied my claim!! I have video showing what happened, I don't understand how that can be denied. I had to go to court which will be won easily. Amazing how this company operates. Please nobody ever use them so they go out of business. I'm done using Uber as well. Lastly every person I talked to was extremely disrespectful and mean. No positives.

When you ride with Uber, you ride with James River Innsurance Company! And that, consumers, is a dangerous thing! I had, what I thought would be a very small claim. Therefore, not needing to retain an attorney. My daughter and I were passengers in an Uber in May 2019. It was a rainy night in Washington DC. The Uber driver collided with an Inmovable object. And kept going. All he said was say, sorry about that. My daughter and I were jostled around from the impact. The next day, we both went to the emergency room for back and neck pains. We reported the incident right away to Uber. They did contact us promptly. But that was the end of the story! The adjuster for James River Insurance Company allowed the driver three weeks to turn in pictures and to allow the vehicle to be inspected. And then, after 2 1/2 months of my complaining and going above the adjusters head. We were denied the claim, because there was no evidence to support the incident. This driver, who was driving recklessly on a very rainy dark night. Is still out there, picking up Uber passengers. James River Insurance was slow in getting any evidence from the driver. They allowed the driver to have the vehicle repaired. This is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. They will not return your phone calls or emails! They lie, directly to your face! They have no morals or scruples! Whatever you do, do not use this insurance company for any reason! Look at their customer reviews. They should have their license revoked! Worst experience with an insurance company in my entire life.

I drive for Uber and was suggested via the app to get this insurance. I had a reportable incident where a passenger opened the left rear door in front of Walmart while another vehicle decided to come around from the rear. I reported it immediately and submitted the appropriate information. The rep claims that they can't contact the rider or the other driver. It's been over a month and I haven't received any reply to two follow-up emails. Why would Uber contract with a company like James River?

I d give them zero if it were an option. Katonya Gamble comes from possibly the 5th circle of hell. She s rude, hateful, unhelpful, doesn t answer her phone. She and James River in general are shady liars with no interest except serving themselves. I d be curious to see their job listings.... looking for employees who hate their lives and have the worst customer service skills possible. I ve tried to be nice to them but I just want to karate kick them all in the neck. Liars. All of them.

I can't say how happy it makes me feel to see everybody giving them at one one thing I have I got hit by utility truck and it was under $ 1400 something dollars James Rivers Insurance didn't even cover me cuz they said my insurance that is only liability I don't understand how they're doing so many people like this they have individuals in their vehicles that are Uber ride and if you think about it why would our personal insurance policy take care of something that happened while Uber driver was in our vehicle this is very very crooked devilish and I hope somebody takes care of them legally real soon is crazy if you drive for Uber you just know you're covered so you're not tripping if you get in an accident while somebody's in the car you just know it's all good it's not all good in front I'm looking for or from all over the world everybody's having issues with this it's because we don't know what we're covered by we're driving for Uber but we don't know if we're covered if we get in that accident or not because James Rivers Insurance hardly ever covers anybody

I m an Uber driver and I had an accident, so I contacted Uber and they told me a representative from James insurance will help you to fix your car ,after 4 days I had to call Norma Carter the one who handled my file at James River insurance company and I was surprised by the way she was addressing me like she already made her mind that I m the one to blame for the accident I told her I m a hard working man and I need to fix my car she didn t even care about anything I m surprised by Uber how they contracted with this less than a insurance company and I had to fix my car which it coast me more than 1500$

Terrible insurance company. I think it's a scam perhaps in cahoots with Uber. I don't think they would get any repeat clients outside Uber. I have to pay about $1,400.00(deductible plus car rental - which they don't cover) for an accident where someone getting out of parked spot backed into my vehicle in the aisle, because they are unwilling to fight the insurance company of the driver that hit me. They end up paying just about $800.00.

My experience with James Rivers insurance Company was phenomenal they immediately got right on top of things and got me smoothly in route on getting everything that was needed to get my vehicle fixed Different Strokes for different folks I read some of the reviews and I must say considering how my process is going the people that has written negative reviews couldn't have provided all documents or they must wasn't with in James rivers guide lines.

This is literally the worst insurance company you could get involve with.
1, they have he worst customer service and do not get back in touch with you for a follow up.
2, UBER drivers, this is the insurance company that uber uses and I am talking from out of experience, you are covered if you are in an accident by UBER if you are online and have a client then JRI is your primary insurance. DRIVERS TAKE NOTE, they will only pay for your damages if You have collision on your personal insurance. Luckily I did and if you do not you are on your own if you are at fault or the other person doesn't have insurance.

It has been three months since my accident and it is like im doing all the work just because i didn't get a police report. I have the evidence and the proof that it isn't my fault and I'm getting no communication what so ever I mean it takes two weeks for them to respond to my email because they don't answer the phone. When they did answer the phone or email I give them the information they need to answer to answer. Lol. I am just so surprised at how slow they are. I called them and complain about how slow this is going and that the other insurance agency contacted me again and said that my insurance claims adjuster was on vacation for almost two weeks I was not happy. Because it means I have to call. I called and I talked to here co worker she said I called to late and that she does not have any time to deal with my question. I am really not happy at this point so I told her what I went through and why is this taking so long. I told the lady that you insurance companies need to get this done and coordinate with each other and deal with this because I don't want to bring them to small claims court. She laughed at me and said what she said before with a attitude this time at this point I'm absolutely done with Uber driving. Uber needs a different auto insurance company. My advice to Uber drivers use your own auto insurance. I also advise you get a police report otherwise it will take time or they just won't cover it and make you a joke. That is how I feel right now.

The worst insurance. Their driver ran a stop sign hit my car they are 100% at fault. Said they would cover all medical expenses and car repairs... the body shop claimed the car as a total loss James river said no they'll fix it when to get the car after two months because it was supposedly ready... the radio doesn't even turn on you have to boost the car to even get it running the body shop said they weren't even trying to pay. We are trying to go to court now because the adjuster doesn't even answer the phone. I 'be asked for a manager nothing they always say they'll call back and nothing. Their not even talking to the body shop. It's a shame how ridiculous this is.. I have a baby how can I possibly put my baby in car that's not even runnninf well and risk my baby because Uber doesn't feel like paying when their Driver ran the stop sign... he didn't even show up to court.. much less do they wanna give me a rental it's been almost 3 months from the accident I have a messed up back and their just not working to atleast get me my car fix which is the worst struggle mostly having a baby and no car... worst experience ever Uber really is ridiculous for this it's a shame how is it you're fully at fault but can't even help make this easier.. it's like they just want you to take them to court and make this public because it's crazy... 2 months and a half and no car ....

The worst insurance company I have ever worked with. Their insured hit our car and they were 100% at fault. They do estimates based on photos you send them which is ridiculous. Every other insurance company has someone come out and inspect the vehicle. Not this insurance. They give you a low ball estimate and if you need more money, they require a shop to notify them. It is my car and I should be able to get as much as my estimate was from the shop! This insurance company is the absolute worst to work with.

James River insurance just decided to not pay for the rental vehicle (even though they agreed to do so and this is covered) and the rental agency charge me $505. The bodyshop reminded them to extend the rental, the rental agency reached out to them as well and so did I. They ignore all communication...

My vehicle has been sitting in the shop for 2 weeks and I have had no communication with any of the adjusters to get my repairs done!
I m upset! The shop is getting frustrated and is charging me storage fees. Still today I have had no service! Very poor business done with this company!

This insurance company is the worst... Uber driver under their policy hit my car admited to being in fault and JRI will not fix my car. One adjuster said get the car into a body shop to start our repairs and over night the decision from a different adjuster changed to a potential loss... so same night same the the original adjuster said no the car is repairable 2 hrs later it s a total loss.. no they want me to sign over my car without any type of estimates on buying out our car... Not gonna happen!! Not to mention Uber driver had 2 passengers during this incident. Sorry but this will not be swept under the rug! May god have mercy on your dishonest souls.

This company is a nightmare to work with. 5 months later and I'm still waiting on my title to be returned to me. They don't return voicemails, receptionists are quick to tell you there's nothing they can do to help you when your calls go unanswered. One star is too generous of a rating.

My life doesn't have time for the James River "Insurance" Company. I was hit by an uber driver on my way to work. I have a police report, pictures and the Uber driver was driving on a suspended license (he got a ticket and the police asked me to leave the scene before they finished with him). It took me 3 days to get a claim filed with them and I've heard nothing back. When I call, they tell me they are a "commercial" provider for Uber and don't normally work directly with customers. Geico (my insurance provider) has recommended legal action to recover time, difficulty, and damages.

James River has not gotten back to me after I have made 5 calls over the course of a few days and left several voice mails. I WILL BE TAKING LEGAL ACTION WITH A LAWYER.

If I could give negative stars, I would. An uber driver hit my grandfather. I filed the claim form for him as the is NO live customer service line. I received a copy of the form I filed with NO claim number and no way to contact James River Insurance. I have called every number I have found online with ZERO response. It's been ONE WEEK. I will not forever be a LYFT customer. I'm deleting my Uber app.
