Always a lot of interesting work on display, and the space is interesting all by itself. Well worth a trip to Algoma from anywhere in NE Wisconsin.

Great place for finding just the right art. Even have 2 locations! New art monthly, owners helpful and knowledgeable. Keeping door county fresh with new artists and loving the community.

What a gem for Wisconsin and for the Algoma community. This gallery is welcoming and showcases artwork with the utmost care. James May North and James May Gallery are great additions to the area and should not be missed when visiting Algoma. I love the passion and devotion to art, the artists and sharing artwork that the owners have.

James May North is the brainchild of the ever innovative Kendra and Jimmy. They have put heart soul and intellect into gathering people to the arts. This space has their creative stamp on it but also can function in a variety of ways. They keep up a wonderful online presence so even if all cannot travel to the event it is sure to be shared. It is the place to host or attend an event!

A huge gallery space featuring fabulous contemporary art in an old post office building! The lighting is wonderful as well as the comfortable friendly atmosphere. The exhibitions rotate about every two months so there is always something fresh and interesting to see. The work is hung professionally without a lot of clutter making the space fantastic for a personal art viewing experience. The exhibitions are very thoughtfully presented and there is always a friendly voice to explain what is behind the work making the experience that much more enriching. I wish I could go more often!

Such a great and welcoming space for contemporary artists and the community Spaces like this are few and far between in rural WI. This space is a gem.

The art is fresh, which is most important, and, it isn't over whelming. The art changes frequently so visiting James May Gallery is always a new experience. James May North is a newer venue - and larger with inviting spaces to sit and ponder the work on exhibit. Two great galleries in a sweet, little town.

All across this country young cultural entrepreneurs are opening new and vibrant spaces showcasing fabulous, innovative art. James May Gallery is one of those. They also transform towns and neighborhoods positively impacting communities and neighborhoods through art.

James May Gallery and James May North are incredibly beautiful spaces run by an amazing family. Go see the work they show. Buy the work they show, the prices are good and the art is great!

After following the opening of James May Gallery, was thrilled to see the transformation and opening of James May North in 2019. These wonderful spaces, one more intimate, the other more expansive, exist as jewels in a beautiful setting in the context of the small town of Algoma on the shore of Lake Michigan. The curation of exhibitions, and caliber of work by the artists shown are without compare. It s critical to support such endeavors, and my hope is that communities both near and far continue to orbit and support the rich vital contributions of this family of artists.

The 2 show spaces at James May Gallery are fantastic and the artists and shows are just as great. The owners Kendra and James are great too and doing an excellent job of displaying art and their artists.
They seem to do everything right, including online artist interviews, how-to posts, monthly meetings, as well as promoting Algoma, WI.
