The best Italian bread on the north shore. The cold cuts nice and fresh as is the produce. Lots of foods to choose from. Even prepared meals plus a great place to get lunch.

I actually didn't go in and haven't shopped in this location, only when it was located by the small Eastern Bank at 4 corners in Saugus. They are fine if someone prefers Italian food and imports, but quite expensive. At the second location, the staff were extremely considerate!!!

I have amended my review to favorable. The situation was rectify joe the owner called me explained what happen and was very appreciated of my business thank you Joe.
I am very disappointed in J. Paci & Son, I can only assume the father has retired and the son took over. Personal service has gone downhill. On Sunday morning 9/24/'17 around 10 am, I called the meat department to ask if they had any leg of lambs, I was told they did. I made a special trip down there too pick one up. When I ask the man behind the counter check out back and told me they do have them but the tops were all cut off. Well anyone that cook lamb knows that the best part. When questioned further he stated they were used to make lamb tips. Then they had the nerve to tell me that would make the price of the cheaper!!!! everyone knows that without the top of a lamb you have nothing but leftover piece of fatty meat!!! They did not care about the quality they were about to sell. Fortunately I called Market Basket and as usually they came through and was American lamb and only $5.43 a pound.
So the only thing I can say is check what your getting before you by!!! The finally insult the owner would not even speak to me. He had the manager pass on the message he was sorry.

Sandwiches arent that hot and warm not bad but could've been better

I went in to order a cake and what I got was more than beautiful! Well done Pace and Son's baker's Nancy loved it!

Not a big fan. Their steaks are about as good as it gets. If you don't mind paying a dollar more for the same apple or tomato that you can get next door at Stop and Shop then check them out.

Their sandwiches are delicious especially the prosciutto with mozorella, tomato, basil, oil and S&P. We get that every time we go there.

The saugus location, customer service is not good. Butcher area workers are rude, prices are high , they don't seem to like you asking how much something is per pound!

They will have what you looking but be ready to pay for it not cheap

Italian specialty food market with quality foods both imported and domestically sourced. If you are Italian or simply fond of Italian foods you will love the selection at this family owned and operated market. Pastries and prepared foods will not disappoint. If you like Boston's North End, this is like a branch location.

The bakery is excellent. The prepared food is also great. The staff is very helpful and nice to the customers. I have been coming there for many years.

Not impressed. Was looking for some good authentic italian groceries. They had no fresh mozzerella it was the packaged ones you get at a regular grocery store. They didn't have any italian or a scali bread. I got the premade chicken parm and it was dry and tasteless.

First time rating 5/5. I'm literally sitting in the parking lot eating a steak bomb with mayo and cheddar cheese . This combo is incredible... one of the best subs I've ever had. Very versatile and unique menu, incredibly friendly staff too. I recently went to the deli to order a cowboy cut rib eye... the choices were too small for my liking so the butcher went and cut me a perfect piece. Haven't hit the bakery yet but the free sample was awesome.

Place is a joke. This is for only italian Americans. Want real good then go to the noth end. When I was a kid place was great, then joe died and now everyone working there have no idea how to work well. Food has downgraded a lot. Place is junk and disgusting and big disgrace to real old school the italians.

Great selection of foods, no pumpkin macaroons last week, but they promise to have them next week.

Everything here is delicious here! Staff very courteous and helpful. A little pricey. But worth it! They do have pizza!

J. Pace and Son is the real deal! I came here mainly for the best breakfast sandwich anywhere, their bacon, egg and cheese on a toasted English muffin. I ate it two hours ago and I'm still stuffed. Their bakery goods are awesome. Their prepared dinners are very good. I've never had anything bad here, only good.

Had the minestrone soup at lunch counter very filling. Lots of traditional Italian ingredients and full butcher shop from chicken cutlets to salami

The staff is very friendly, the meats are cut the way the customer wants. Theirs always fresh produce and prepared meals and the bakery is very good!!!
The deli meat and cheeses are always Excellent !! Overall, you can find most Italian foods their!!!!

Quality meats and italian specialty items. Butcher on site to cut meat exactly the way you want it. Quality of the products justifies the price. Feels good to support local, family owned business.

Love Pace's. Can't beat their deli. Everything is fresh and they slice correctly. Wrap in paper not plastic + your deli meats last longer in paper. Bakery has the best brownies on the planet...no nuts or chocolate chips in them. Your classic brownie. Are made meals are great too.

So happy they extended there hours for the kitchen!

It's the closest you can get to Italy! Every thing is fresh and delicious.

I work in the North End, so I remember going to them before the original location closed down. The Saugus location is just as excellent.

Great fresh deli selections along with fresh prepared Italian specialties including wonderful pastries. A must for fresh cut meats and bread.

Service here is excellent! Everyone is willing to assist you and answer questions in a very friendly manner. They sell top EVOO brands here and their fresh bread is delicious. Wasn't impressed with the Marinara or Arancini, a little flavorless so they are just OK. Will try other things next time I go. Great for fresh meat and sausages so still worth the trip. I'll be back.
