IVY academy Review

Ivy Academy is a public middle- and high-school that serves students from throughout Hamilton County, Tennessee. Ivy follows an Environmental Education curricular approach that allows for hands-on, outdoors education. However, as a public school that is open to all students, Ivy follows the same state curriculum standards as every other public school. Ivy is located adjacent to the North Chickamauga Creek Gorge section of the Cumberland Trail State Park, on the banks of the N. Chick. Creek. Not only does this allow the students access to miles of trail, but there also is a unique partnership with Tennessee State Parks that allows for a Park Ranger to be assigned to the school as an educational resource. This is a very innovative approach to public education.

Ivy is a fun outdoor learning school with a passion for students and the environment! I attended all four years of my highschool and even though they don t honor all of what Ivy started as they do a decent job of keeping the original ideals in place. Bullying was an issue in the school all four years I attend (graduated 2017) I can t speak on how they handle it now I can only hope they have improved and are stricter with their zero tolerance policy . Glad to see the school growing and expanding, teachers and staff alike are outstanding, caring, and overall wonderful! Very pleased to see that Angie Markum is no longer involved in students day to day life as she shows ignorant, petty, childish, rude and disrespectful characteristics, never once respecting students lives and cultures. Not things school kids should be experiencing from an adult who is supposed to be a leader in their school. However never experienced these things with any other teachers, staff or admin. Thank you Ivy!

I'm so thankful for Ivy Academy, it's been such a wonderful influence on my twins and I will do anything to help at Ivy Academy!!!! My twins are very happy there and I don't have to worry about them while they are at school!!!!
