During the semester and even on breaks, I love coming to Patrick J. Stapleton library! The vast amount of books here is heaven for curious book worms along with the international magazines, newspapers and journals in the basement.
The great place where all IUP students find everything they need to study and relax, as well. The student workers, Ms. Megahn Evanko, and the reference and technology disc stuff are very nice, and incredibley helpful. Thanks for supporting us, and for making our library such a great place!
My major just has software installed on the computers in the library so we can work there overnight if we need to for our projects but now it s closed before I m even done with Mg classes and a 4 hour shift at work.

IUP Libraries: Empowering Students with Knowledge and Resources
IUP Libraries is a leading academic library that provides students, faculty, and staff with access to a vast collection of resources, including books, journals, databases, and multimedia materials. The library is an integral part of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), a public research university located in Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
At IUP Libraries, we believe that knowledge is power. Our mission is to empower students with the information they need to succeed academically and professionally. We offer a wide range of services designed to support student learning and research needs.
Our collections are extensive and diverse. We have over 1 million print volumes in our stacks as well as access to thousands of electronic resources through our online databases. Our librarians are experts in their fields and are available to help students navigate these resources effectively.
In addition to traditional library services such as circulation and reference assistance, we also offer specialized services such as interlibrary loan (ILL), course reserves, media production services (MPS), digital scholarship services (DSS), archives & special collections (ASC) ,and more.
Our ILL service allows users to borrow materials from other libraries if they are not available at IUP Libraries. Course reserves provide access to textbooks or other required readings for specific courses on campus. MPS offers video production equipment for checkout along with editing software for creating multimedia projects while DSS provides support for digital scholarship projects like data management plans or digitization efforts . ASC houses unique collections related specifically about the history of Indiana University Of Pennsylvania .
We also have several study spaces throughout the library including group study rooms equipped with whiteboards or large screens for presentations along with individual carrels where you can focus on your work without distractions.
At IUP Libraries we understand that technology plays an important role in today's world so we provide various technological tools like laptops , iPads , headphones etc which can be borrowed by users . We also have printing facilities available both black & white as well as color printing options .
One unique feature at IUP Libraries is our MakerSpace which offers 3D printers , laser cutters , sewing machines etc allowing users explore their creativity by designing prototypes or creating physical objects using these tools .
We take pride in being an inclusive space where everyone feels welcome regardless of background or identity . Our librarians strive hard every day towards making sure all patrons feel comfortable asking questions about any topic without fear judgement .
