The museum, which has been serving Turkish Art since 2004, is very uncomfortable in its temporary place. Such an important place of art remains in such a safe place for so long? Unfortunately it is happening in Turkey. When the space is narrow, you will be restlessly right. When the security practices exceed their purpose, "Let's go" happens. Wait for your new place to go.

For the second time in this museum, and for the second time pleasantly surprised

The previous location was wonderful.
Unfortunately in this new location (Near Galata tower) few artworks or installations are exhibited. But the price is still 40 liras.

Riverside museum with Turkish & international modern & contemporary art collections. Amazing place, modern building and picturesque views. Breathtaking artworks won't leave anyone indifferent.

What a contrast to the historic nature of Istanbul. This museum beautifully pushed the envelope of cultural context by highlighting Turkish subculture in some of the exhibits. We will return for the next collection.

One of the famous modern art museum in Istanbul. On Thursdays they have free entrance for Turkish citizen so it may be crowded. They also have a coffee place with a nice panorama but little bit expensive.

Art. It must reach people of all ages, it was wonderful to see children there

An interesting collection of modern art from mainly Turkish artists. Not a particularly extrensive collection but nonetheless worth a visit.

Wonderful modern paintings and sculptures. The view over the Marmaray see and Haya Sophia and Topkap Palace is outstanding.

A good museum of modern art, yes it is small and the entrance ticket costs 75 lira, but I liked the permanent exhibition very much. Negative feedback below is not clear.

Actually here is not the real Istanbul Modern Museum. Because of the first one is being rebuilted, a small part of the collection is exhibited in this new temporary building. So do not have great expectation for seeing all the pieces of the collection.

One note to google for its description. In its new location, it is no longer directly on the water. And the Bo az/Bosphorus is NOT a river! It is a strait today connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara.

Although am not an artist myself so my opinion doesn't matter much, still enjoyed it.

There is an exhibition that may be of interest to you before you go, you have to take good care of it, and the content is low, tickets are expensive accordingly.

Nice venue of course high price. Art means money, of course. You can participate in free activities.

The Museum istanbul Modern offered interesting themes in its exhibition on five floors. I looked at "Global Narratives in Textiles" there. I liked that very much. The museum is very easy to reach by metro, has a small cafe with delicious biscuits and cay.

Art with unhappy employees became a place that consumes energy instead of a place where a Gavur tax is imposed. I have been coming for 12 years, long ago Istanbul art lovers.

Istanbul modern for me five star but the new place is very tight

I wish Istanbul Modern, the art and art-loving friend, who has little time to move to its temporary place, the same level of success in its new space.

This is the first place I went to in my student years. Then I had a chance to go over and over again. It is a place where I like and appreciate the exhibitions, events and services offered in the international arena. The road is a must-see place for everyone passing through art. Thanks to everyone who worked.

On Thursdays it's free, if you don't like art enough to pay, I suggest you see it on Thursdays. On the entrance floor you can leave your coat and a canvasser free of charge. The 3rd and 4th Floor are very enjoyable

Great place. Temporary exhibitions are held in the bottom and it is free for Turkish citizens on Thursday.

A well-regarded museum security rules are a pleasant museum for art lovers. I think there is more density since it's free on Thursdays. The lighting could be adjusted a little better, the picture is not shot with flash, nor is it forbidden to take a normal photo.

Agree with another reviewer Charly Streff. First impressions count and the woman with curly hair at the ticket counter / reception was quite cold (in stark contrast to the warm, helpful and friendly nature of the Turkish people). This maybe something to do with this particular location (i.e high end, touristic etc.)
The entrance ticket is exhorbitant at 60 TL, for a limited exhibition in just 3 small rooms. Whist the exhibits themselves were quite interesting; any attempt at quietly reflecting on them became impossible when a crowd of around 30, 5-6 year olds were brought over by a half dozen teachers, with explanations going on in the background to their noisy tots. There's much that could be done, to improve the overall experience. Perhaps in line with similar contemporary museums in other parts of the world, i.e. Tehran.

I didn't like it. I wasn't interested. I guess it's a matter of pleasure.

I bought a year-old family card. I'm constantly visiting to reduce the cost bile Even jokes are enough for the photo exhibitions and library on the top floor.

It is a beautiful museum. The activities and cafe for kids are quite nice. However, it will be closed soon, it will be closed for a long time for renewal :(

I would have given five star if not for one security guard who was judging you like she owns the place.

Security has invaded multiples of motion limitation

Istanbul Modern Art Museum or shortly Istanbul Modern is Turkey's first modern art museum. The museum was established by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts ( KSV) under the leadership of the Eczac ba family.

It is a very beautiful building, a modern building where many artworks are exhibited. There are parking lots around but it is easier to reach by metro. There is a canteen on the ground floor. There are a lot of food venue alternatives around. Since the upper streets are already opened to istiklal street, they are also close to entertainment venues.

Many less works can be exhibited in Kabatas instead, but they are still enjoyed. There are enjoyable workshops for children. I advise

Quite a small museum considering the high price for a ticket. Can easily see it all in an hour. If prioritizing art in Istanbul and only have a little bit of time I would recommend the National Painting Palace Museum over this.
