Ipoh Guide Review

John picked us up at our hotel, the tour was with another couple. The tour was perfect with a nice blend of different foods and places to visit. Really enjoyed the tea museum and the coconut wine ;-) Thank you John

Much room for improvement.
We booked the tour as we wanted to see the cavetemples as they are nasty to visit with public transport. John was on time to pick us up, but was not very informative over the programm. After 10 minutes driving to one temple he deicded to go t another one first. john did not offer any info without being asked. We certainly did not get the "loads of tips from the knowledgable tourguide" as promised on the website. Just rent a normal taxi see the cave temples and walk to the Hakka miners museum youself and save yourself a load of cash.

I got in touch with them and spoke with Nick to arrange for a private half-day tour. On the day I arrived, we were picked up by Mr. Cho who was friendly, courteous and all around interesting person to have as a guide.

As we have been to Ipoh not too long ago, we asked Mr. Cho to bring us to more local places - places where he would frequent and that he thinks are good. He did not disappoint.

From the start - arrangement of the tour through the phone - to the end when Mr. Cho dropped us off, everything was "breezy" and agreed upon on a "gentlemen's handshake". They carried through on their promise and we had an enjoyable time.

My wife and i were taken on an especially adventurous, exciting and informative 8-hour full day tour of Ipoh yesterday by Ipoh Secrets.

There were 4 'clients' in the group, ie the 2 of us plus another couple from Singapore. So it was only a small and intimate group. Yet, to ensure that none of us would be neglected, we were guided by 2 guides, Simon, being our main one and John.

That arrangement also worked well in that, for example, when lunch was imminent, John would proceed on ahead to the very crowded, & popular designated coffeeshop to secure a table for us when we arrived.

Both Simon and John were extremely professional and informative, accomodating to our small changes in plans wherever possible.

Rates were also extremely affordable and we would recommend Ipoh Secrets to anyone wishing to see & learn, affordably, all about Ipoh in the shortest possible time.

Last Week, I had a Total experience of Private tour with John Lee who I found that he's one of the Passionate and Great sence of Humor kind of tour guide. Throughout the whole trip, I had fun and I really do enjoyed the whole trip. There s only 1 part I felt sleepy. It s because I had too much Fun. :)

Had a fantastic time with our guide Simon who was not only exceptionally knowledgeable but easy going and super friendly. Took us to everywhere, from sites to local hawkers for a really lovely day. Felt less like a guided tour and more that your old friend form college picked you up and was showing you his hometown. We live in Malaysia so not all new to us but stil found it excellent and insightful.

The tour was in accordance with the promised itinerary, the tour leade (John Lee) also explained in detail about its attraction, even though there was one group that canceled, we became like a private tour. overall satisfied with Ipoh Secret Tour..two thumbs up.

From tasting good old town coffee, to learning about the history of streets. Understand the life of locals straight from the mouth of a local i.e. the tour guide Nice hidden corners discovered. Sure was a day well spent!

We enjoyed our tour enormously. Our guide John was really knowledgeable. He shared his favourite eating places and showed us parts of Ipoh we wouldn t have discovered by ourselves. John tailored the tour so we could do some shopping and went well beyond what we expected. Thank you John!
