Hector did a spectacular job color correcting my hair to a beautiful blonde/balayage. Kat worked on my hair cut giving me really nice layers and Jay styled it with beachy waves. My hair has never looked better and I really enjoyed my time at the salon. Everyone was so nice, professional and did great work. I highly recommend this salon and looking forward to return.

Ion is a comfortable, aesthetic, gracious place. I look forward to going not only for the excellent cuts (where would I be without Marco?) but also for the casual, democratic vibe. Everyone is treated with the utmost courtesy. Though the place is hip , I never feel uncomfortable coming in disheveled in my gym clothes. I'm the kind of person who walks out of the shower and out into the world hoping for the best. And that's what you get at Ion, that kind of hair.

I have always had great experiences at Ion. They are experts in color and masters at cutting hair. My hair is thin so it has always been difficult for me to get a decent haircut and nice styling. I had given up going to hair salons for years and a friend convinced me to give it a try. I was very lucky to get Yannick. He is beyond amazing. He knows exactly how to take the best of your hair and make it look great and healthy. Also color work was impeccable. Highly recommended.

I love getting my haircut here. The space is beautiful and chic. Staff are all extremely friendly and will make sure you are comfortable the moment you step foot inside. I've had a few different people cut my hair and each person takes their time to make sure no detail is looked over and I get exactly the cut I want.

I had been going to Ion Studio for about 5 years until March, 2017. Let me tell you this wonderful story, since Ion Studio itself (ah, the irony!) sent me an email asking to write a review of the salon. Throughout the years l always thought the staff was wonderful, the service a bit pricey but worth the results. I loved the meticulous work, the different hairdressers (I tried several), and even the fact that a few times Marco Santini, one of the owners, came to supervise what other members of the staff were doing. But let's cut to the chase, since I know you're waiting for the turn of the screw, aren't you? In March I decided to go to Ion for a color correction. The job was performed well (not gonna mention by whom, since he has nothing to do with what happened later) but, alas, literally vanished in ONE week, after paying A LOT of money. When I complained about this by phone, they offered to see me again and color my hair again. So far, so good. However, when I went back to the salon, they saw there was not much that could be done to improve the state of my hair, and therefore refunded me the money. Well done. (But wait for it!) I was at the reception desk doing the aforementioned transaction while talking to the manager in turn, and during my small talk with her I mentioned I was upset, since my hair was in very bad shape now and I was really hoping they could do something about it. Maybe offer to redo the job once my hair was healthier? Maybe acknowledge that any kind of hair job that only lasts one week is not acceptable? It really doesn't matter what I was expecting them to do, since before being able to express anything, Marco Santini himself came to the reception desk and, without even recognizing me nor asking me what was going on, threatened (yes, you read that right) to CALL THE POLICE ON ME for "disturbing the vibe of the salon" (sic). Now, let's stop for a second and be very clear here: I was not throwing things at the receptionist, I was not hitting the manager, I was not punching the walls nor yelling like a possessed soul: I was EXPRESSING my dissatisfaction, as I have always done and will continue to do any time I pay for a service poorly performed. This guy, in the most ARROGANT, CONCEITED, ABUSIVE and VIOLENT way, was bothered by the VIBE (give me a freaking break! who are you? the Dalai Lama?) being disrupted. I could go on and on but I guess you get the point. You can still go to Ion and get a good service, but beware! if you happen to be less than happy with what they've done to your hair, DO NOT DARE TO COMPLAIN because they will get violent. After this episode I left the place never to come back. It's a shame that a business that claims to be professional can afford this type of asinine behavior.

My experience with Ion was really amazing! The whole staff is attentive and welcoming. My stylist Alessandro was extremely knowledgeable and gave me a great cut.

It's a great studio-- fancy but not pretentious. Who wouldn't be happy in a light filled and airy space? I see Angelica and she's like a hair therapist, seeing me through some transitions in life and like so many women the expression comes out through the hair! She's thoughtful, creative, chill. I've been going to Ion for 2 years and very happy with how my hair grows out as well. Cuts are pricey and very fairly priced for the value and experience.

Evan and Shelby came recommended by a friend and they certainly proved to be everything I was told. Beautiful studio with gracious personnel and super talented stylist and colorist. Book them now, because soon there will be two month wait.

Fabulous place. I got a simple haircut for my thick long hair - trimming layers and dead ends. My stylist was so sweet and didnt make annoying small talk. All products used smelled SO good and I was treated amazing even though i showed up rly late! Def coming back!

The salon should maintain clean instruments at any time. Also, they should broom the floor more often and not wait until they ll serve at least three customers in a row. It is quite unpleasant to have someone else hair under the chair or on the instruments.

Besides being patient and good at listening to what I wanted- Marco & Leo are extremely talented at what they do!

A gorgeous old school Soho studio, small and intimate, lovely staff and a great cut. It's not easy to find a salon that checks all the right boxes (cool AND technical) and where the prices aren't insane, so very happy to have found Ion. Thanks to Alessandro and Colin for the cuts.

After years and years of salon surfing, I finally found someone who does my hair exactly the way I want it. Sara Booth is the ONLY person I will allow to do my blonde. She gives me the prettiest golden highlights-- people think this is my natural hair color. She's a miracle worker!

Love. Kimberly is hands down the best colorist to ever touch my hair. I've been getting highlights, ombres, balayages, you name it...for years and I've never gotten more compliments on my hair than when Kim does it. Her technique is superb and whatever she does to achieve her tones is magic.

LOVE this place. The ambiance is great and my colorist is spot on. It took me a while to find a decent salon that could create the perfect red color for me. It's a little pricey, but totally worth it. Go see Evan!

I have been coming to Ion Studio since the beginning and have always be very happy with my hair cut. Leonardo and his team are very technical and always do a great job. I sent a friend of mine for color 6 months before her wedding to undo her many home dye jobs, she looked lovely on her wedding day.

My haircut experience at Ion was wonderful. I saw Shelby and she gave me precisely the haircut I wanted. I've been looking to switch to a new stylist, and Shelby at Ion is definitely going to be my-go to person. Great location and cool vibes.

There is only one person for me when it comes to my hair. Tim Nolan at ION is the best in the business. I go where he goes and luckily for me he chose ION. Such a lovely place with lots of talented people working there. Highly recommend it.

You can't go wrong with ION! Marco is exceptionally talented and has given my hair lasting shape and the right amount of movement. I wouldn't go anywhere else. On top of talent, Marco, and the entire team, are considerate, friendly and all-around terrific and refreshing people.

I came to ION studio for the first time this week. It is very welcoming and a nice space. The staff were friendly and it is easy to get to. I personally came in to see stylist Tommy. I have been getting my hair cut by Tommy for about 15 years and will not let anyone else touch my hair. Thank you again Tommy for a great cut and thank you ION for a great experience.

This was my first time at Ion studio & it is the best salon to get your haircut. I had long hair and wanted to go short. Yannick was absolutely amazing. I recommend him to everyone. Left the salon absolutely loving my haircut and feeling like a new person.

I picked ion for a cut and color. The reception was awesome in accommodating my post work schedule. My cut was radically different from my previous hair, so it says a lot that I loved it. My colorist worked much later than the salon closing time and was so kind. If I lived in NYC, I'd definitely go back.

Ive been having my haircut by Leonardo for YEARS. He is the ONLY person who knows how to cut curly hair. I have crazy thick curly hair and not every stylist understands how to cut it. Leo gets it right EVERY time. The staff is always friendly and attentive.

This studio is absolutely fabulous. I found them online, gave them a call, and they booked me same-day! Got a fabulous head massage and a great cut, which isn't always the case with hair as curly and unruly as mine! I'll definitely be coming back here.

Top notch hair salon with graduates of the greats like Bumble and Bumble. Have had color, cut and blow dry and always great service and fun friendly people. The space is gorgeous too right on Wooster in SoHo. Prices reasonable.

Chic, hip, on-point, cool yet polished....EVERY time. I can relax completely at this top industry-insider salon knowing experts are in charge. Shelby does my cut, Kim my color -- they both are highly recommended....but don't be shy when booking a last minute appointment, the entire staff is quietly amazing.

Jon is so incredibly personable! He takes his time to get to know you and your hair styling preferences before he works. He also gives helpful tips on getting your hair to look the way you want it to. My company hired Hector for an event as a work perk and I am so glad they did - he's amazing and I'm so lucky to have had him cut and style my hair.

My stylist is Kat. She has always and continues to give me the BEST haircuts. In my opinion, she is a "hair artist"---examining your hair, its texture, how it grows, the shape of your face---and also listens to what you want. I recommend her without reservation.

Leo has been cutting my hair here for 8 years...yes, EIGHT. He is ridiculously talented and makes my semi-annual trim look like an incredible makeover. I wish I could come more often but Leo is so darn popular he often is on some exotic set doing a supermodel's hair (no, really).

I love that this is a green salon. The idea of anything being 'green' immediately reminds me of hemp, patchouli, and paper products that melt as soon as they get wet. This place is no hippie establishment. It's a chic, airy salon that smells great and is super clean.

Everyone who works here has been super friendly. I started coming here as a hair model and now come here as a client because I love it so much. Keep it up, guys!

Tommy Wright, stylist extraordinaire, has cut and colored my hair for more years than I can count, and he does our daughter too! He is creative, very painstaking, and will listen to what you want. He is cheerful, intelligent, and makes one feel special. The whole salon has a SoHo vibe -- old fashioned SoHo -- a bit funky and fun. Not pretentious.

I have been going to Ion Studio for years, and love it. The stylists and products are great, as is the location.

ION Studio has a very Andy Warholian Factory-like feel. As a customer not only do you get the best haircut you want (and I always bring my GQ Magazines with the latest hair trends to show what I want) but you get to experience the art on the walls in this studio, that is lightened through real sunlight that comes through the high ceiling windows (and you know the theory that you need real sunlight to recognize the right colors) and furnished with sustainable, recycled and recyclable materials in a minimalist and cozy atmosphere. You definitely get a good cappuccino and all stylists are very fashionable and trendy. I don't exaggerate when I say, it feels like going to a spa, a place where you can relax and pause from the everyday New York city circus. I have been a customer ever since I moved to New York and never changed the salon. The stylists are artists and perfectionists! It's in the heart of Soho, where art meets fashion and much more!

Alicia was excellent at giving me various options on how to fix my color and took her time to explain everything thoroughly. It's been a while since I left a salon loving my hair color. The staff was lovely and made me feel very welcome.

Ilka was genial and patient. She was attune to my needs and the specificities of my hair. As a blonde you encounter unique problems when getting highlights, the challenge of finding the right shade that is a warm golden color, yet not the texture and color of straw. Her work was perfect and I am very happy with the final product. It has been an ease to maintain and has retained the initial vibrance of the color. I would absolutely recommend Ilka and will be returning like clockwork as my hair grows.

I absolutely love Ion Studio. I see the owner Leo for my cuts, which I have grown out for 6+ months at times with no complaints. I have also seen two different colorists for highlights and both were amazing and the color was great growing out. That's why we pay these guys the big bucks. We shell out the money (and shell out the time -- because balayage takes time) and for the following several months, everything is just easier, no muss no fuss. Also, being at this place is completely painless. It's gorgeous and full of light and the people are WONDERFUL. Indeed, most of the clients are on the glamorous and well-heeled end of the spectrum, but nevertheless, no one batted an eye when I waddled in there for the first time seven months pregnant, wearing sneakers and god knows what else, and totally exhausted. For that, I thank them. Love you, Ion!

I started going to Kat at B&B 18 years ago. Kat is more than just a stylist, she is an artist. If you're looking for a cut that is going to complement your hair type, bone structure and personality, go to Kat. Love her!!!

I am SO HAPPY with my experience at Ion. I was coming to Ion after having a bad experience at another salon, and after expressing my concerns, Nylza was amazing! I found the salon because I love the products but after my first cut I don't think I will go anywhere else. She took the time to explain what she was fixing and why, and I was SO happy with my cut at the end. She was friendly and attentive, too. Very thankful for this salon, and can't wait for my next cut.
