Gifford Pinchot (first Chief of the Forest Service...

Gifford Pinchot (first Chief of the Forest Service) on the mission of USFS: "to provide the greatest amount of good for the greatest amount of people in the long run."

First level of this building is the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and on the second level you will find the United States Forest Service (USFS) offices under the watchful guidance of Supervisor Ed Armenta. A delightful surprise to learn this agency manages and protects 154 national forests and 20 grasslands in 43 states and Puerto Rico.

This agency has an elite firefighting team and the world s largest forestry research organization. Providing expert technical/financial help to state/local government agencies, businesses, private landowners and work government-to-government with tribes to ameliorate, guard and manage non-federal forest and associated range and watershed lands.

The USFS partners with public/private agencies to cultivate trees, ennoble trails, educate public, propagate conditions in wild land/urban interfaces and rural areas. Grateful to have this elite team standing sentinel over venerated forests, ranges and watershed lands in America.
