Nice visit. Lots of different types of cranes to look at. Many of them were interactive and calling. Facilities are very nice. We appreciated the nice artwork scattered around the area. The prairie walking trail had an interesting diversity of different prairie plants. Even the gift shop had a nice mix of wares.

The ICF does what it does really well. Birders and natural history lovers will enjoy the excellent facilities, interpretation and information on cranes' plight and the international community's fight to protect these unique, graceful birds. Families may not find a lot of bang for their buck here, as cranes aren't too entertaining and there's not much kid-oriented activity. There are beautiful trails and grounds, however, so kids have lots of room to run around and get some exercise. Pretty amazing that one person started this world-class facility on some family farm land!

We were there for opening day 2021, and what an amazing facility! Quality time was had with the cranes. I'd seen one whooper in the wild before, in the Horicon marsh. But to see and hear them up close here was such a treat.
