The main factory of the Indian Railway was established in 1955 with the development of the Integral Coach Factory or ICF (ICF) Passenger Boxes. This factory, created after the Indian independence in Perambur in Chennai, is made of lightweight, complete and steel and coarse luggage passenger boxes. Railway connectivity factory is a primary manufacturing unit in the manufacture of railway passenger trains of Indian Railways.
