We love the Inn. Comfortable rooms with fireplaces that go on with the touch of a switch, a patio for each room --or balcony on the second floor. And then the amenities. Delightful full breakfast cooked to order, afternoon wine and cheese, and when you return from dinner, dessert and coffee on the veranda. Our third visit. About 5 miles south of Santa Barbara and 1 mile from Montecito.

We stumbled on this place on a trip to Santa Barbara. Not only were the grounds lovely but the room was very nice and extremely cozy. They literally thought of every little need. It is very close to downtown Santa Barbara and only a few minutes walk to the beach. Super comfortable bed too!

We stayed at the inn for one night. The service was wonderful. Christopher the front desk manager was very attentive. The beds and bedding was so soft and luxurious to sleep on. The hot tub was the perfect temperature. The whole experience was a treat for myself and two adult daughters. The cons were the location. Beach access was reachable by car. The view was really a stretch from our balcony. The traffic, exhaust, and road noise was pretty loud. It was not close enough to Santa Barbara to get to easily. Traffic was really rough. I am a native Californian and have visited and stayed in many hotels and this inn is over priced.

Wonderful. Very comfy. Only downside is it's on the edge of Hwy 101 and you can hear trucks fairly loud. But every single B&B in the area has this issue. They even thought ahead and provide a white noise machine in the room. We'd definitely recommend.

The room was beautiful, clean, and had a fantastic view of the ocean. The location was great, walking distance from a park that leads down to the beach, many markets and adorable boutiques and awesome restaurants. It was also a quick drive to many other places near by. We received turndown service on the first day, and breakfast was served each morning. Both days I stayed, the breakfast was delicious and there were many different continental options like croissants and oatmeal. Overall it was a great stay and I would recommend others to stay. The only drawback was it was right on a loud freeway. However, they leave earplugs for you in case you are a light sleeper. I am not, so it wasn't an issue for me.

The Inn definitely was lovely and very well appointed but the web site was very deceiving. First of all upon arrival Walter at the front desk checked us in to our beautiful rooms adjoining each other which was perfect. After a long drive we were looking forward to relaxing on the front patio only to discover the noise level from passing trucks and trains plus the dripping water from the above air conditioner forced us into our room. The fact the Inn provides ear plugs should have been a clue!! The next day after an enjoyable time sight seeing we went back to the Inn to enjoy a nice glass of wine only to discover we missed it. A little hospitality would have been in order here. Then we asked the front desk girl if we could mail some cards and she gave us a "I don't think so". " I think there is a mail box down the street" On the positive side Scott's breakfast was fantastic but we only got to enjoy it for one day since we had to leave at seven fifteen for our flight. A little hospitality would have been nice here too, even the Hampton Inn gives you a bagel if you can't make it to breakfast. We did not feel a friendly welcoming atmosphere. The bottom line ......very disappointing.

Absolutely aweful service. Some of the worst business services I've ever encountered and I'm a manager at Sephora. I called and questioned about a room and was quoted an original price TAX INCLUDED. So, I decided to speak with my husband and when I called back I was told the same price. I was very excited, we had been traveling from Alaska and we're happy to be able to relax on a warm beach! But, after giving my information and booking the room, I was THEN told I'd be charged almost $120 more then the originally quoted price! When I protested, the lady acted dumbfounded and swore that the original price quoted to me did NOT include tax! She was the "acting" manager Jessica, was her name, and she acted like it was my fault and spoke to me as though I was a completely incompetent fool. After arguing my case, she told me she would refund my money, since I wasn't going to be staying there after being falsely charged such outrageous prices. But she STILL refused to refund me the entirety of the amount and kept $25 for an "inconvenience fee." Needless to say I will never do business with them again.

The major issue we had was the mold we noticed growing in the bathroom tubs. My wife has severe mold allergies and this was not good for her breathing. We decided to leave first thing in the morning because of room. We made a request for the hotel to address this issue so that other guests are not inconvenienced, no response from the hotel.

Another issue we noticed (which is not as major as the issue above) was that the patio doors were not well insulated, especially since there is a highway and railroad tracks right across.

On the brighter side, the staff was nice and checked in on our later arrival and was overall pleasant. I would however not recommend this place. I'm going to attach photos of the issues we came across to this review.

Very nice hotel with spacious rooms, a very comfortable bed and a very nice jacuzzy when returning in the evening. Plus, the snack at 5am with wine and small dishes prepared by the cook.
To do again by ironing in the area.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay in Room 13. The location was amazing, right off the coast you could see the ocean from our balcony window, and the jetted tub was extremely relaxing. The service was awesome and the complimentary breakfast was tasty as well. Would definitely visit again

Location: ocean view, but loud because of the highway and railroad

Food: Average. Happy hour 3-5 seemed too early and the red wine was hot, which was very off putting. Breakfast was one dish only. Good, but lacked variety.

Room: very nice. Bed sunk in the middle a bit. Power lines obstruct view to ocean.

Hot tub: nice, very hot

Service: someone is supposed to be around until 1030 pm but no one was at the desk 10. No wifi password was given and it's not listed in the room book. However, if you'd like to borrow a cassette tape... They have them... Clearly things are a little behind the times.

Overall: a very average hotel with an excessively high price tag

We spent $310 on a king balcony room on a Tuesday night with only one other couple staying. It felt more like a $125 experience.

If I could give 2.5 stars I would.

There are no negatives with this B&B other than its proximity to Hwy 101 and the traffic noise, which is only audible outdoors. The rooms are clean, well appointed, very comfortable, with fireplaces and canopy beds. Wine and appetizers are served between 3 and 5 and a full breakfast is included. The staff are most helpful and friendly. All in all a perfect location for the area.

I have stayed in many hotels, Inns and B&Bs over the years, and I have seen quite a lot of interesting places to stay. So when I pulled into the Inn on Summer Hill I was not expecting anything new. But I was pleasantly surprised. They have a nice spread of hors d'oeuvres and drinks in the afternoon, and desserts at night. The rooms are extremely comfortable with the softest high-thread-count sheets. They will serve complimentary breakfast in bed if there are not too many guests staying there. There was a beautiful view of the ocean from our porch. The courtyard is nicely landscaped with a variety of beautiful California flowers and cacti. Although the place is near Highway 101, it didn't bother us at all, since we slept with the a/c on. Overall, it was an extremely nice experience. Yvette was a gracious host and very pleasant to deal with. It's a short drive, about 6 miles, from Santa Barbara.
