ILCSC advocates for policies that promote the rights of persons with disabilities at the local, state, and national levels. The center works closely with policymakers to ensure that laws are in place to protect the rights of people living with disabilities.
Transition & Independence Support
Transitioning from school or home into independent living can be daunting for persons living with disabilities. ILCSC offers transition services designed to help individuals navigate this process successfully. These services include life skills coaching such as budgeting skills development or cooking classes.
Disability Peer Support
Living independently can be isolating at times; however having someone who understands your situation can make all the difference in one's life! That's why ILCSC offers disability peer support groups where clients can connect over shared experiences while receiving emotional support from others who have gone through similar situations.
Traumatic Brain Injury Support
Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) are often life-changing events; however recovery is possible! At ILCSC we offer TBI support groups where clients receive emotional support while learning about resources available in their community such as rehabilitation centers or medical professionals specializing in TBI care.
