Yes, this is a scientific research center to be proud of. The Amici Di Arcetri association, aided by numerous volunteers and under the patronage of the Municipality of Florence, organizes events for the public of all ages to make known the results of the work done by the scientists of this center and more generally in the field of astronomy and of physics. The conferences of the "Summer Nights" cycle, held outdoors and preceded by an aperitif and dinner, have been organized for years and attract a variegated public attracted both by the topics covered and by the beauty of the place and the landscape. The lecturers are scientists from our INAF who work in international projects at the frontiers of scientific research
Interesting visit with a group in the evening time .... despite a cold it was a good experience
Going to the Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory has to be one of my favourite experiences in Florence. Guido was not only very knowledgeable, but very kind as well. Despite the clouds that night, we managed to see the moon and its craters. He told me that, over the summer, they have an open agora with performances, guest speakers, and activities that are open to the public. Definitely returning as soon as possible!
"Summer nights" experience to try! Each evening is as different as it is interesting, from the aperitif at sunset with a view of Florence, passing through the show that has always managed to entertain and stimulate attention and curiosity, to observing the sky with the astronomers of the Arcetri observatory. Everything always flawless and simple at the same time.
Interesting place with good view to toscany tipical villas and nature
The Arcetri Observatory is located in Pian dei Giullari, a hillside location from which you can enjoy another fabulous view of Florence
It is definitely a unique experience to see the skies from the same perspective Galileo had centuries ago. Arcetri offers scientific and cultural events throughout the year that are both very enriching and entertaining. Another wonderful place to visit in the magnificent Florence.
