In Vino Veritas California Review

The reason for a one star is that I felt that McDonald's could make better food than this place along with its service here. Took about an hour just to get a refill on water. They weren't even that busy. Additionally it took an extra half an hour on top of the hour just to get my order in along with my wife. She had the basic chicken sandwich with garlic fries and I had the fish and chips with garlic fries as well. The food took about 20 minutes to come out which wasn't too bad but, the food that came out.....That's another story. First the garlic fries were horrible. They tasted like they were cooked in the morning or the day before and just sat on a warmer. The ketchup they gave with it. What the hell is that crap. How do you mess up something so simple as ketchup? The chicken sandwich almost seemed like it came from Carl's Jr. Probably even the fish that I ordered did too. Overall this place is petty bad. The atmosphere was ok their gates around are broken. This place sounded promising reading the reviews for trying a new place. They do have a great wine selection but, that's all there really is to this place. I also forgot to say that they were out of four different beers that I tried ordering and then I just stuck to water. For the amount of money I spent here I would of been better off going to Red Robin.

Big wine selection but it was the most unprofessional service in my life, the staff notice that we were waiting and they continue serving other tables or talking to each other
We sat outside and it was cold and the owner Dan wouldn t turn on the heater, then he told us that if we wanted to sit inside We will have to sit in the corner table, seriously Dan?? You offered another couple a middle table and they say NO but you offered me the corner table

Yesterday, I celebrated my 68th Birthday. Today, I discovered another milestone in my life..!!! I just finished devouring the most delicious Burger and fries I've ever tasted in a Wine Bar...maybe tasted anywhere in the world..!!!!! Folks, I know that I could rattle on for 30 minutes and I still wouldn't have adequately done that burger and fries Justice. Y'all have to try it on for yourself. I never finish all my fries and seldom eat the whole burger but tonight was definitely different. Oh... I almost forgot to mention the ketchup..!!! Out of the world delicious as they make their own on the premises.

I'm thinking I haven't said anything about the wine bar so here goes..! Folks, I couldn't find anything not to like about Vino Veritas. It's a one of a kind wine bar with a decor and ambience to satisfy the most discerning individuals. I immediately felt a magical quality about this establishment that I've rarely felt in any bar. I felt totally welcome and relaxed with Daniel filling me in about this very, cool and friendly wine bar. Not being a wine connoisseur, I told Dan the kind of wine I like and he recommended several wonderful choices. Another Cool feature is the self dispensing wine stations.

I highly recommend Vino Veritas wine bar for good spirits, good food and good times. You will not be disappointed.

Service is horrible; food is worse. Do not be fooled this is a bar - not a classy wine bar - just a neighborhood bar. They should put in pool tables.

Personally, I really enjoyed this little place. The decor and the ambience are exceptional. The restaurant is nice and cozy and yet very open.
The food was prepared just right, all while tasting incredible. The portions are fair and balanced with the price; however, what places this restaurant over the top, at least for me, is the service. Our waitress was friendly, honest, abs informational. We are definitely going back.

Great place to relax, eat dinner and have some wine. We will be back. Food is amazing.

Always, always enjoy Vino Veritas. They have a new server that we haven't seen before; and, he isn't as personable as a couple others. Menu change is nice but wish they offered more vegetarian dishes. Will go back to coming during the week though.

This place hosted my husband's holiday company party and specially prepared a vegan entree for us that was just wonderful. Full bar if you're not into wine.

Great service and wonderful food. The bar tenders, Sarah and Kevin, are fantastic and pour heavy. The owner, Dan, is the best. He is so friendly, funny, and down to earth.

Great concept with the card dispensing of wine tasting portions. I'm dropping 1 star because I have to sift through several tastes before I find something I like, so I wish they would work on attending to a variety of palates within their choice of selections a bit more.

One of my top 5 places to go. The food is always good. Wine selection is great. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Casual atmosphere geared more towards young professionals and more mature crowd. Nor a a partying line of place. Just a casual place to hang out with friends and family. Great date place also. This place does not dissapoint

Service is great. Music is a little loud. Super selection of wine and beer. Do NOT go here if you are a vegetarian, the only real option you will have is salad. DO go here if you like eclectic food. Options are varied but most are reaching for the younger crowd who is willing to try new foods.

I've been here a few times but the past 2 times i was not pleased with one particular waitress. I Brought my mom and husband who have never been, the waitress had us waiting while complaining to another table about life issues, pretty tacky. Then when she got to us she had a total attitude, no real greeting. It was embarrassing as my mother is from out of town. When my mom asked about happy hour she walked over and pretty much tossed the menus at that table. We ended up walking out after our waters. I've met the owner who seems like a very nice man. I cannot imagine he would be pleased with this. I know i wouldn't be. She caused the business to lose money. We went to citrus grill and spent a pretty penny there instead. Love the wine here but need more personable staff .Last time i was there with girlfriends and we were asking the same waitress about some wines and her response was " i don't know, i don't drink wine" umm that is a odd thing to say when you work at a wine bar. Not sure if there are other waitresses since ive only dealt with her the last 2 visits but i hope something changes so i can come back and enjoy the wine

I'll give you 5 stars for your great wine selection but I didn't like any of the food we ordered. Crab cakes were too salty, onion soup too thick and condimented...

I am baffled by those complaining about the food. I have had the privilege of eating at many high-end establishments and Vino Veritos has fabulous food at half the price of most of those. Some of my favorite dishes include the salmon, mushroom risotto, lobster Mac n Cheese, and eggplant parmesan. Neither my husband nor I have ever had a less than delicious meal here. Nice atmosphere, good red wine selection, kind people, and fantastic food.
