I wanted to further my education, so l met her at her office and I will say she gave me some vital information as to what I was looking for. Immigrant Services Calgary is a must visit for all new immigrants in Calgary. The service really helps with exactly what a new immigrant needs in terms of information, resources, guidance, and support for employment, healthcare, education, and other settlement needs. The office members are very helpful and pleasant and I had the opportunity of being counselled and guided by Krisztina Kelemen who is extremely professional and approachable. It is almost unbelievable to get such professional help at no cost but this place and personnel really exist and I hope it continues forever!

I am being part of ELACP(early learning across cultures program) would like share warming experience I had with Mrs.Darlene and Mrs.Sahar. Since we were in lockdown like anyother parents I was worried about engaging my child at home. Mrs.Darlene and her team has taken tremendous effort to keep our children learning even in lockdown. Inspite if zoom classes for our children Mrs. Darlene has gone extra miles in distributing activity books,crayons, books and many other things for our children, which I found very helpful in keeping our kids engaged in lockdown.With their constant support and motivation I feel more confident in teaching my children at home. Despite the mentorship program offered for newcomers, I've got no mentor since applying to the program 2 years ago even with a very broad background requirement (anyone from sales). Neither I've got any feedback on my CV. Definitely there's a room for improvement to support the newcomers.

I highly recommend Kristine Diolola as a newcomer planning specialist of Immigrant Services Calgary. She did a fantastic job with my PR card renewal. I found Kristine to be very supportive, knowledgeable and professional. All my questions and concerns were answered and resolved during the whole process. The rest of the services being offered by CIS were explained as well. She went above and beyond customer service and exceeded my expectations.

If you are a new one in Calgary and would like to apply for some English learning program, you need to make an appointment for English testing first in this place and the counselor will refer you to some schools according to your testing result. It may a lot of people in the queue to wait, so make it as soon as possible to get an available testing space. And to start your new life chapter soon in a new country.

My experience with these people was terrible.
They are judgemental and rude.
When i went to my appointment for employment services , the lady i had appointment with started mentioning that reason why i dont have secured employment was because i had personality issues. And started judging me with a weird voice tone. I had to leave.

I would like to share my excellent experience with Yonas from Immigrant Service. While I was frustrated and couldn't figure out on how to fill all my applications, Yonas professionally took the step to guide me and calm me and get the job done in less than an hour. I am sure that the always smile, patience and giving hope to the clients like Yonas does is the culture of the office as a whole.

I was surprised that such services to help many immigrants are not being noticed by the majority of immigrant group. If you have just landed (or recently) to Canada, you need to contact them immediately to get help for just about anything. They will help you from the scratch. The best part is that it is free of charge. I thank Marie and Carlen especially for helping me out with many different needs.

If you are a new immigrant landing in Calgary, Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC) is the first organization you should reach out to. They offer a wide range of settlement services (most of which are FREE) to assist you with your transition and integration. I went to them hoping to get some useful employment advice and job leads but the help I continue to receive from Meenakshi and Ghazi is far beyond my expectations. The good folks at ISC put in all their heart and effort in helping us new immigrants. Most of their team comprises of people who are first-generation immigrants and they can relate very well to your struggle around integration and employment. Make sure you get registered with them and then make the best of all the opportunities they send across to you. They have a very strong local network and they strive to get you the best opportunities. Keep doing the great work ISC!

The service was incredibly! They are very servicial and helped me a lot with the translations of my transcripts in order to apply for a career in Canada. One of the best things to say is that they gave me all the information i needed and also adviced me. The are IRCC, so all the documents translations made by them are well to use for formal procedures such as applying to college, immigration, etc.

I got news from CIC that I needed to translate the stamps on my older passport. In a panic, I contacted this service (who had done a previous translation for me) and they were very quick in helping me out. They charged an extra 30% for the expedition, but it was totally worth it. It was done the next day. I am really grateful to this service and would recommend it to anyone.

Just get the report of new immigrant English test for free. No need to take Ielts or toefl test to apply the program of Sait. Very useful way for new immigrants who wanna go to school. Elena and Wendy are both nice ladies I met. They help me to get a earphone to take the listening test. Do not hesitate, go there ask help.

With the excellent assistance of Calgary Immigrant Services through Elma Fadri, I am able to appreciate the beautiful life in Canada. I almost gave up and wanted to go back to the Philippines when I was in Ontario. Fortunately, I was enlightened by Elma Fadri first thru Phone Interview on March 2019 and finally when we landed in Calgary on May 5, 2019 she guided the assistance not just for basic needs (Food, Clothing, Housing) but also Career Enhancement. I recently immigrated to Calgary and prior to this I had participated in Pre arrival services. I did a lot of research but nothing prepares you for when you actually land. Now take this scenario and land in a pandemic and in winter- that is coming from the Tropics. There are many post arrival immigrant services available in Calgary and I have spoken with all of them. I felt a sense of disconnect with some and others tried their best to help as much as they thought they could because well it's in their best interest and they require the funding. I felt very unsettled my first few weeks here and considered going back to my home country while i tried to figure things out. When I communicated my fear, I felt shut out and shut down. I've met very rude (VERY RUDE) counsellors and I understand everyone has their own temperament and may be going through their own personal problems, nothing personal. Imagine navigating all alone to a new land and then meet rude, dismissive people. I contacted Immigrant service Calgary and even though it took them a while to get back to me, they finally did. I spoke with Luisa and felt a GENUINE connection. She listened to me, we laughed, were sad at some point- she SHOWED EMPATHY, and wore my shoe (figuratively of course). She gave me pertinent information and had a good idea of what my story is and the hurdles down the line. I have had to figure a lot of things out by myself and this is a no brainer, you have to do your own research because everybody's story is different and we are all different and have different paths. I wish I started my post arrival services with Immigrant service Calgary and if you do, ask for Luisa, she is fun and very charismatic and will get you ALL the information you need as you settle in your new home. Remember this is a journey, there's a lot of information to know, everybody has an opinion on what you should do and not do! Make sure the information you get is current and up to date and applies to your situation. The information is constantly changing and you need to keep abreast with this and Immigrant services Calgary will help you every step of the way because the truth of the matter is that sometimes, you just need someone to hold your hand while you take baby steps and immigrant service Calgary definitely does that for you.
