Humane Society Of Wayne County Review

The animals here are taken care of decently, but I saw a lack of compassion for them in a few of the employees. Also, the veteranarian's area was quite messy, with wires, bottles, etc. all over the examination table and such. Still, if you are looking for a pet, stop by here and give the local animals a chance(and a home!)

They are so sweet and caring staff. If you get the chance i recommend adopting this kitty named max! He is the sweetest cat ever and loves cuddles! Hes $75 to adopt and likes to be picked up. He likes to be your only kitty in the home. I wish i could of adopted him but i have a pet limit at my apartment. :( definitely adopt him if you wanna give him a forever home. He's 12 so yes he is old and may not be around for long but please give him all the love and cuddles for the time he has left. Comment with a pic if you adopt him!

Will help students in school with community service hours, plus they have a great staff that will always make you feel welcome

This is the 3rd time to use Humane Society of Wayne county and we have always had a positive visit. The staff is wonderful. They dont rush you, have an answer for every question, and so patient. We adopted 2 tiger kitties. Male and female from same litter. Love them to pieces.

The people are rude. They won't allow people to hold certain animals unless you are going to adopt that one. How do people know if they match if they can not interact only through a cage? Bad business!

Loaned me a trap so I could catch stray kitten which I was able to find loving home

Clean, friendly, and polite. They prefer you having an appointment to drop off critters you found or do not have room for. Make sure you call!

Absolutely love the folks at the Humane Society in Wayne County. They go above and beyond everyday to make a difference. I have always preferred to support no-kill shelters, and have adopted a few dogs from them over the years, and in the future, they will always be my first consideration when looking for an amazing addition to the family!

Staff was friendly. Lots of cats. Dogs were all pits other than a German Shepard. That was fine however we were looking for a small dog.

Awesome place. They are a no kill shelter. They allow you to come in and cuddle with and get to know your future pet. Very reasonable adoption fees and 100% of all money spent goes towards helping the other animals find their forever home.

Take it from this long time adopter. You won't regret it.

Very nice staff, friendly and helpful. I stopped by to donate a new bag of dog food from Chewy that I was returning but they suggested I donate it to a local shelter. They gladly accepted the donation and I was happy to help them.

We fostered Penny (Penelope) for a few months. She had heartworm at the time, but they kept giving her treatments and now she's fine! Got to adopt her on Jan 7. The staff there is so...nice! Great experience for us. We adore Penny, she's a great girl!

Lots of volunteers helping here. The cat room has individual cagey but also allows cats to come out and play in the room.

I think this is Humane Society is wonderful they truly love the animals here and work very hard to find homes for all of the them ,the staff here are warm ,friendly and helpful I found my new cat love here , I highly recommend anyone who is looking for pet to stop in !!!

Brought several really nice doggie beds in to donate. It was my first time there. I was 75 years old at that time. I told the woman at the desk it was my first visit and that I had 4 large beds in the car to donate. She didn't say much except, you can bring them in and set them right over there, which I did, one at a time. I haven't been back since.

The humane society of Wayne county is a great place. They care about animals and the staff are all very knowledgeable and professional and understanding. The facilities are very nice and even if you don't adopt they will still take you on tour and allow you to interact with everything there. They care about what they do and if you choose to adopt then this is the place to go.

Somebody dropped a 4 to 5 week old kitten off at my house. I was finally able to catch it. It had something stuck in its mouth. The Humane Society took this beautiful new baby kitty in and were checking her out when I left. So thankful I had somewhere to take this baby to. I already have 2 rescue cats at home so I couldn't keep her. Thank you so much Wayne County Humane Society!!! I pray this baby is ok and finds a loving forever home!!!

Cats are cute and so are the dogs but the cat room does smell a little bit this place is awesome. I got a puppy there.

If you want to adopt a cat and you have kids don't go here. We approached the women if we could meet some of the cats and she asked if we had to do that right now because she gets off in 20 minutes. Then she asked the cat we were interested in to give her a sign if we were the right family and apperently the cat said we weren't.

Six months ago we adopted Kiwi, an 8 yr old kitty at Pet Smart in Webster. She's an awesome cat! Loving, active, inquisitive. The volunteers @ Pet Smart were attentive to the cats there. We were thoroughly investigated as to our suitability to adopt--this after 50+ yrs as cat owners. Be prepared.

I love this place! I recommend it highly to anyone looking for a pet. My mom has a dog and two cats from here, and my grandma just got a kitten from here. All of them are absolute sweethearts! When you check out the cats, put your hand against the glass. They will rub against it! The dogs are noisy, but if you take one home I m sure you won t regret it! I know that when I want a new pet, I ll come here! Love you guys!

Well we were back here again 3 days before the house was to be sold... We brought our cats Isabella, Domino & Cookie here to be rehomed to new families... So very hard for the kids and I , but we didn't know where we would be the following week , so these folks made this very hard time for us much easier. Their kindness and love for animals is so great. If you ever need a new home for your animals or you are looking for a cat or dog, please come here and adopt a pet. You won't be sorry and you would be doing the right thing. This is a clean & healthy place for your pets and a great place to get a pet. I am so thankful for this place !

We have always supported their efforts to take care of the animals. We came home with 2 cats this time. A 7 year old "Buddy" who has been there since 2018, and "Chester" renamed Taz who is about 1 year. Fun,fun,fun! Keep up the Great work

They always have dogs or cats but they treat them well someone is always playing with them or doing something

Worse service ever. Came to deliver cat. Inform now I need appt. Never used to. They where full. They where not apologetic. They said it wont be til.end of month and cost 25 dollars what used to be donations.

I just got a 6 mo old tiny sweetheart I pick her up in am. Wonderful place great caring people too. Not like lolly pop farm which ida kill shelter. Wayne county is a kill shelter.very happy

They are a NO Kill shelter! They are amazing people. Who do so much for the animals in their care. Donate your time. Or supplies to help them continue to help the animals.

I love this place and the people who work here! We recently lost our cat to a freak accident, and with our home being very lonely and quiet we decided to look for a new kitty. While the shelter itself was too far from us, we visited the cat adoption centers in our local petsmarts. This shelter had the most availability at the petsmarts so we could easily check midday or in the evening. Everyone was SO helpful and knew the cats very well. Each cat had its own story and all the ladies knew them. I was impressed by how clean everything was. We didn't get to take our kitty home immediately like at other shelters, but that's because they thoroughly check your application. We still took him home very quickly and we love him so much! They even gave us some of his food so we can slowly switch him to our preferred brand!
