This is more of a comment on their website. In my opinion, I think that the site should do a better job posting pics and descriptions of the adoptable pets. I know that other,smaller shelters do a great job at this!
I got my black lab "Mr Bill" from HSNP a number of years ago. The boy gave me 12 long years of love and was such a amazing animal! I highly suggest if you can not afford a dog from a breeder adopting from the HSNP because every animal deserves love.
Those reading should know that the Humane Society is VERY PARTICULAR - in order to receive help from them or to adopt from them you cannot seem even REMOTELY AGGRESSIVE toward animals. Many situations that are brought to them are due to the lack of experience and understanding these owners have or have had with animals.
As for me, they were amazingly swift to help with an urgent situation. They helped me save an abandoned kitty from a bad situation.
I really love all kinds of animals and my staff corrie took me Katie first time in a long time and I didn't take any pictures at all so very sorry to let everyone down next time I made sure that I take a lot of pictures I promise okay
Caring staff, experienced and kind. I feel confident taking stray cats and kittens here knowing they will be well cared for.
Not only do they support our local animals and do what they can to place them with loving families, they also have a great dog park!
Unfortunately we were there to have our 14 year old Collie euthanised.
The Humane Society has SO improved with the new administration. I hadn t been there in years but brought blankets for the Hurricane dogs and asked to see the dogs. Then I saw this gem- 8 year old Roger- came from a bad house- bad legs but when I called his name he looked right at me and has been my baby ever since!! The staff was awesome- it was obvious they loved the animals and since Rojee had been there a month they were so happy for him, including the animal enforcement officer who happened to be there! They cleaned Roger s ears, put a flea treatment on him when I asked- no charge and advised me that Roger loves squeaky toys- I m so glad they told me because he is obsessed with his squeaky toys! Thank you Humane Society Staff- you re doing God s work

Very bad place to adopt a pet from they pick base off if u are loaded with cash plus try to say u bad people when u don't meet there money policy and the people very unkind and I had a client go in and she was blind and on oxgen and was trun away because she was not loaded and was blind and they put false information on her to make a reason not to adopt to her it's not right and please don't adopt from them it's sad because she would of been a good human mommy but it's ok I just feel bad for the pets there

My fiance call these guys because she is worried about a couple of dogs that her siblings have. For when we go to there place it smells like dog fesses in the house. And instead of going out to see what they could do. They said they can't do anything. So much for caring about animals
Three of us do Pet Therapy monthly and borrow the cats and dogs from this facility. This is a wonderful organization that treats their animals with love and caring. The staff are friendly pet lovers. These precious animals unknowingly bring so much happiness to the nursing home residents. They look forward to our meeting visit and the pets bring smiles to their faces.
Great facility. So thankful the animals appear well cared for. Staff is very helpful and caring.

Went in there today with one dog in mind. Bowser is who we went in to look at. Went back looked at him,filled out the adoption papers and then sat in the room with him. The girls were so helpful and so willing to answer any and all questions we had for them. After spending a few min with Bowser we knew we wanted to give him his new forever home. We are so happy that we went there for our new family member. I say to anyone who is looking to adopt this is the place to go. Clean facility and friendly staff who are there to make sure you not only find the perfect pet but your pet is a perfect fit for you. Thank you to all who helped us give Bowser his new forever home. We are so happy and so is he.

Wonderful staff and full of beautiful animals. What's not to like. We got our dogs license renewed and we didnt get up to the counter yet and they had started filling out the paperwork for us.
They are so friendly and nice the staff. Its clean but so sad to see them there to get adopted.
Very helpful ladies who work at the front desk that helps me in consoled me when I had turned in a lost dog. When I called back a week later they informed me that they had found the owner of said dog and a very happy reunions was had
Smelly... But friendly staff. 90% of the ats were on medical watch, and u couldn't even touch them according to the staff, whatever they had could be taken home with anyone who touched them, and given to our pets! Not happy bout that.

We went to adopt a puppy about 2 weeks ago. We filled out the application and they told us we had to bring our dog and my friends dad had to call in and say that we could have the dog. SO we got our dog and took it there. And then after that they told us that her dad had to come up and sign the papers. WE LIVE 2 HOURS AWAY! And they didn t feel the need to tell us all the steps the first time. I understand that they have to be careful about who gets the animals and that s fine but I shouldn t have to take 10 trips up there before I get it.
We adopted two adorable 4 month old kittens after we had to put our 2 older cats down. They are perfect for us. Also the Humane Society was clean. The animals there are loved and well taken care of. I was impressed with the amount of medical care they received. They are even micro chipped. The staff was wonderful and also very helpful. They are kind and caring to both people and the animals. I would highly recommend getting a pet here.
Just dropped off some bags of food my animals didn't like.
#1. It's a kill shelter. #2. The place reeked of cat pee. #3. Not a single animal in there looked healthy or happy
I have adopted one small dog, and my experience was great. The people were so very nice, I didn't mind the long adoption process, it was worth the wait. They did have some trouble because my house is still my ex's name, and I had to change my home owner status to renter and get permission to have a dog from my ex, but I understand it is for the best for the dog, not my convenience. I have since been back three times looking for a friend for me new dog, every time the people there are wonderful. I'm going back today to adopt Fuschia. I don't understand any of the negative reviews from people. The Humane Society does a wonderful job, they are very pleasant. Any one can see they love what they do, and the animals they care for.

A great shelter for stray and unwanted animals. I went with a friend that adopted a cat during their save the shelter event and she could not be happier with the service she received or with her new furry family member.
Clean facility, knowledgeable staff with good hearts and good intentions that take care of pets and make sure they go to a well suited new home. Highly recommended.
Need to be more thorough on back ground check of potential adopters, but the staff do a great job for these animals, so if you want a cat or a dog, go there and save a lofe and meet your next best companion
Horrible time so hard to get a dog. Staff seems to only care about making it hard for people.
I'd recommend them to anyone. They are truly the epitome of proper animal care in Erie. Our community would be lessened if they weren't available to do what they do.

Their care for the animals is good. We adopted a dog that received needed surgery there before he was put out for adoption. He's healing well and is a delight.
Now these are great people. Who give of themselves lovingly and constantly. I have nothing bad to say about them. I had a poor experience with them once where my fur baby was attacked, and no One would help her for under 2000 bucks. I finally found a doc I could afford 3 dAys after xmas, and the humane society came and took her away from me. This made me bitter, but I also know she was treated immediately and was placed in a good home. So in my own selfish pain I lashed out, but will not trash good people.
So I recommend them for your next loving addition to your family. So go out and try something new Erie, and as always, have a great day!

Dont deserve a star for the Condordicking and lies they did to my family. And ask for WAYYY more money to get my dog back but then didnt give back when we had the money..like really nothing but lies .read the question parts it has it all for ya.
Awesome place! Saves so many animal lives! Think about being a foster parent! If you can, they're always in need of items like collars, blankets, chew toys & more! Monetary donations always help! The HS staff is awesome, so loving & caring.

Great place staffed with great people. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. They work hard to make sure the animals in their care are provided for and the prospective pet parents understand the ins and outs of each of the new family members they are looking to possibly adopt.
It was small but it got the job done. So quaint with its ivies. I gave it a 5 star because they had several agility items. My dog learned to jump today and he walked through the tube! Clean and lots of toys.

I applied the day before via internet. I applied again the next day in person where the worker said "Oh you didn't submit during business hours" this is a lie as I applied at 100 pm when they were open til 5. They said I would have to wait til Monday for them to check with the cruelty division. They don't care about adopting those animals. Additionally there were only vicious Pitt bulls to adopt. The worker wouldn't even let us visit with a dog. And we are not abusers!
