Great place to find literally anything you need. High quality products at reasonable prices. Did almost all my xmas shopping here and bought and excellent Lagostina crockpot for making great meals that are too big for my slowcooker.
I really like The Bay, it always has a large selection of trending clothes for children and adults. Two floors at this location with the make up and parfums on the lower level. Very clean and well lit as well.
The original Canadian clothes store, as you walk around the store, feel the history wash over you and grab the sense of how it started all those years ago, and help history go into the future with a souvenir from Canada's first and favorite clothes store
This Bay locations hasn't changed since I was a child. Kinda nostalgic going back to a department store that still looks like 1990.
pricing is deceptive.
Very costly with many common items.
Just got 2 sets of double size 100 percent Egyptian cotton 400 count sheets on SALE..love them..silky soft!! Everything seems to be on sale in the store. What a Great store!!
The only good and reliable place to shop around in kamloops, its actually in the mall...
Does anyone even work at this place? I went to this brick and mortar location twice trying to get help and couldnt find anyone. Twice on the same day. I finally gave up and ordered the sheets online
Several positive changes in Men's wear n other sections but today I wanted to purchase towels n needed help. There wasn't a staffer around. I called their main number n the woman said, "I will be right there." I recognized her from last week when I purchased socks for my husband. She is answering the phone n covering two deparents.
Hires staff!
The Bay is nostalgic for me. A department store of yesteryears. It has everything!!
There was minimal staff, but enough to get help when paged. I was disappointed at an entitled customer demanding service. During this pandemic, I am thankful for any staff that was there!!
Kudos for the staff at helping each other even when it wasn't your department.
I bought my daughter gold earrings for her 16 birthday. I'm hoping they will mean something extra because they came from the Bay. Where I've been shopping for 45 years!!
Super friendly staff, specially debbie. Unfortunately variety is limited for men, hence 4 stars
Store is ok for the bay. It seems half the staff is pleasant the other half miserable.
Its is the best department store in Kamloops. If we don't support it , it will be gone too. The staff that have been there for years are very helpful, the store is better arranged now, more choices and "you get what you pay for" comes into play with the Bay. Prices are higher, wait for the sales as they are frequent. The quality is far better than most shops in Kamloops. One stop shopping will be a thing if the past, thank you Hudson Bay!!
We bought beautiful recliners and living chair today. Beautiful leather and real solid wood! Sale price too:) Got to love it!
I was out doing some Christmas shopping as well as shopping for a birthday gift for my mother. I noticed one particular woman walking very quickly "shopping" but she kept rendezvousing back around to where I was every couple minutes. Then I noticed the walkie talkie attached to her purse. This prompted me to pay a little more attention to her. By this point it was extremely obvious she had decided I needed to be monitored while I shopped.. I was not shoplifting nor did I plan to. I would have purchased probably around $300 worth of merchandise fromthe store but decided to put down my basket and leave immediately. She was quite rude and obvious and I felt as if I was being harassed so I decided enough was enough. I do believe profiling is illegal as is harassment and I felt as though she was committing both and I had fallen victim to it. Thanks for the great experience Hudson's Bay!
Slim to none in terms of customer service. Expensive pricing and they really are a dinosaur in regards to the customer base they focus on. You would think a company as big as this would learn to evolve with the times a bit.
Staff helpful. Seem there is a lack of options now. Good prices. Sales good. Don't pay fullprice wait till sales.
Mens levi jeans 39.95 a pr. Womens levi jeans 79.95. What's up with that. Is the price difference because they're ladies jeans.
Great furniture and mattresses. Very high quality product. Friendly staff.
I wish they had more staff in our Bay, Aberdeen Mall, Kamloops but the service is great!
Well i tried to trade a canoe full of beaver pelts for some underwear .... They have forgot there roots
Hard to find what I was looking for, but harder to find help. When I finally found what I was looking for, check out was quick and easy.
Most of the departments are organized. Ladies fashion is a disaster, so unorganized, I can't even look at anything.
A little expensive but they always have a few sales.
Discontinued my plates and couldn't find any help, even after someone called help for me. Glad this isn't my regular store.
I went to another store and the reverted back to regular prices from black friday still having good sales at HBC it goes on
I normally shop at The Bay but not in Kamloops. The Bay at Metrotown and downtown Vancouver have so much more shopping options than here. Not sure what cohort of population the store here is aiming at? Those that lived in the 70's? Time to get in 2020.
It was a pleasant afternoon and many beautiful things to look at and the people were all pleasantly nice
Good service, selection was pretty good considering the decreased activity in off line shopping.
Will just shop online. Waited at the counter ringing the bell and nobody came to ring me through. Left the stuff on the counter and won t be back. Why even have a bricks and mortar store? Like seriously.
Lots of stuff on sale but nothing in wife size. Which is a bummer. On a positive note MW hair salon has moved back into their old location at the Bay. The other location was in the Lansdowne shopping centre.
My husband I decided to splurge on a new patio set last summer after having our previous set for 5 years. After some shopping around, we decided to use some of our wedding money and purchase a "top quality", $1400 set from The Bay. The table set was used for one season and stored in our garage and covered over the winter as recommended by the sales associate at the time of purchase. This spring, we pulled the set out to find that the finish on the concrete top had completely disintegrated, leaving actual chips all throughout the table and causing it to be essentially unusable. We contacted The Bay's customer service team to address the issue and were told that the patio table sets that they sell are "not built to last" and unfortunately the warranty is only good for 6 months from the date of purchase. After several back and forth calls, e-mails, speaking with management, and providing detailed photos of the disintegration, we have had to accept The Bay simply refuses to do anything about it, and doesn't care that the overpriced, proclaimed quality products that they supply are actually garbage. In what world is it expected that someone should have to spend $1400 each summer to purchase a new patio set because "unfortunately" they just aren't built to last?? Our last set was sold to us second hand, purchased originally at Walmart, and was still in great condition when we resold it.
I would HIGHLY recommend steering clear of any furniture purchases from The Bay. Not the level of quality or service that one would expect when spending that kind of money. We are two very displeased customers and will never make another furniture purchase from this department store again in the future.
Again. Nice store but a lot of bucks on comparable items. If your gift shopping or have lots of cash it is a fine store but a wmt it aint
I ve always had a good experience here. They usually offer good promotions and staff are always very patient and helpful. They have a good selection of clothes, shoes, bags, fragrances and beauty counters. The staff at the fragrance and MAC counters are very knowledgeable. In the clothing department, it can take you quite a while to find what you want but you can make some great discoveries here. This location is a lot better than other HBCs I ve visited.
Didn't have the greatest experience here with customer service. Don't get me wrong found some great deals but the arrogance at checkout left me with a foul taste in my mouth.
Unfortunately for such a storied department store, this has become the home of overpriced lower grade merchandise in Kamloops. If it carried more designer labels similar to other cities it would likely be able to reshape the brand image in town.
Almost no sales people, and service desks are usually far away. Clean and quiet.
I wanted to reach out to you personally. I visited the Hudson s Bay store in Kamloops last week. Excellent customer service at the MAC shop in Kamloops. I had the pleasure of meeting Aisha the new manager who gave me so much time and knowledge. Aisha was interested in how I felt using the products without using hard sell. Patience was definitely something I appreciated. I have been a MAC customer for many years but often changed to other brands. I feel much more confident after this visit to continue using the brand and products moving forward.
Nice stuff, but way too expensive. Excellent customer service at the counter. Go and visit! It's like visiting a museum. Certainly home to those of a certain age.
You'll always pay more at the Hudson's Buy for thing you will certainly find less expensive elsewhere.
Amazing place to shop. Wide varieties of products both for men and women. Too pricy but meets quality. Would go in to fragrance section again.
Went in for my favorite Levi's jeans and was so happy with the gigantic selection of colors/washes in my style as well as the crazy amount of other styles. The staff were all so friendly and helpful
I've been shopping at the Bay for approximately 30 ish years. The recent changes to the shoe department are disappointing (actually the whole store, I hate to say, is disappointing). The clothing sales floor is very unorganized, you have to dig around to hopefully find clothes that you may like. Things are here there and everywhere, summer clothes mixed with winter, and clothes look like they've been on the racks since 1990. The shoe department recently turned into a "Payless" style department, you have to be six feet tall to see the new way they've displayed their items (which are also unorganized) runners with heels, boots with flats... If you're in a wheel chair, I can only imagine how difficult it will be to get an idea of what you're looking at, and what you're looking for. Like I said, the shoes are displayed so high up on the shelf, that only a giraffe would feel comfortable browsing the department. I love the Bay, as I've been shopping here since I was a child, but hopefully they step up their game, or they'll be in the same boat as Sears. :(
I always like the Bay. There clothes are good quality albeit expensive.
Went to see about a watch that needs a battery but because of the type they would have to send it away.
Makes the impression - since years - as if from tomorrow closed forever. In addition, it stinks in the perfumery department, even for years, after toilet.
Am surprised every year that the Bay still exists.
Trying for 2 days to phone a department see if item in stock. "That dept is not answering, please try another department." NO one answers in many departments. No switchboard, so just go through all again. No wonder people are buying online. More staff needed!
It has many clothing choices. Usually has lots of sales staff willing to send you in the right direction.
Little pricey but good quality. Look for the deals.
No customer service. Change rooms a mess. Lots of sale items when I was there.
Went to the Bay to the salon to get a haircut, and Mary was very good. Plus it doesnt hurt that she's my kid. Good job Mary.
Good sale prices and good selection of designer names .
Love this store. Great clothes! Just wish there was more service.
Have been a customer here for almost 10years! The staff chit chat with each other if you notice. No service to customers!! Have been here 4 different occasions in the last 3 months. Every single time staff doesn t have enough training to do their basic job! Don t know how to look up a product online to what the sales are!! Very frustrated that I have to explain them to do their job!! I used to let go.. it s ok that they might be new but they haven t improved their service!
The store seems like a sad reflection of what it once was. The selection was very limited so wasn't able to find any thing I was looking for.
No greeting. No assistance. Bath area s (towels etc) shelves virtually empty. Many empty racks and shelves.
The Bay regularly has pretty good deals, but not much selection. Most of the clothing found there is geared towards older ladies. The dressing rooms in the ladies department are strange, as you can see right over the doors if you are tall enough which is a little bit unnerving. Other than that, they have very nice staff who are willing to help with anything you may need.
Visiting relativesin Kamloops stopped to buy a few gifts.Great to see the Hudson's Bay store is the same great store whereever I am.
Kamloops Bay zero help in beds and furniture. Park Royal Bay good help in beds.
If you are looking to buy flowers for any occasion, the flower shop in the Bay is not somewhere I would recommend. As a loyal longtime customer, I was excited when I heard about this blooming new business coming to the Bay. However I am greatly saddened by the selection offered at the Bays flower shop. Whilst the selection is very poor to begin with, you would be lucky enough to find a flower that wasn't wilting or dying. Most of the roses were black, dry and crumbling. To make matters worse, their seriously ill treated flowers are horrendously overpriced. 60$ or more for a mere few flowers? That is, if you can even find a price. If you cant, do not bother asking Bay staff as they have no knowledge of the flower shop, and told me the flower shop manager has been away for several days leaving no one to man the shop. Do not waste your time here, head over to your nearest grocery store.
Not many people shopping. shelves still have merchandise .hope it picks up in the next month
The staff has always been courteous and helpful. The Bay is always the first store I check out when I go to the mall.
