This practice saved my life. Dr. Fryman is an amazingly caring physician as well as a professional in every aspect. I have heard people complain about addiction clinics with a long list of issues. HPR is just as a regular Dr.'s office would be. Appointments in a timely manner- professional office staff who are warm and understanding- and Doctors who know what they are doing.

Yes, there is a fee- yes it's about $250 a month. But you get much more than a few hours a year with a doctor! The Doctors all spend as much time with you as you need- they listen and NEVER judge. They believe they are there to help you- and believe in your recovery. They make it a rule that you receive counseling and they should! Experts all say that without counseling, suboxone and other drug therapies do not work well. You will also be drug tested every appointment. Most insurance coverage demands this anyway- I feel it is a helpful tool for personal responsibility. Never was I made to feel judged or belittled if I failed a drug test. They DO need to know you are actually taking the suboxone and not selling it on the street! They don't use the test results to make you feel like a loser- and they will celebrate with you when you do well- they are just good people.

The person who said they spent 5 previous years at another practice that phoned in refills apparently does not understand that 5 years is a LONG LONG TIME to still be on Suboxone! At HPR their goal is of course to help you taper off of the drug as soon as you can be successful.
Maybe someone with good insurance or welfare benefits can afford to stay on an expensive drug like suboxone. I can't. I pay the clinic $250 and then buy my medication out of pocket. I am so glad to have the doctors and staff at HPR behind me in my recovery. Michael, my therapist is an absolute expert ( and Tony also) and I get to have that counseling for less than $35 a visit! What a blessing. Never a burden to spend that small an amount on expert care.

I suggest that anyone looking for a non-judgemental environment in which to heal and find sobriety - go to see any of the doctors (especially Dr. Fryman) at HPR Clinic. They have done so much for me.

After being in the maintenance Suboxone program for more than 5 years and seeing my Doctor 3-4 times per year for $100 per visit. I moved to Ohio and I transferred to the HPR Clinic. They charge $250 a month. At first I thought it would be fine since I only go a few times a year. Well if you ask for a refill for your Suboxone script they will tell you that "BY LAW THEY CANNOT" and that you must come back for a refill every 30 days (THAT'S A LIE) and pay $250 each month. That's $3000 per year for 3 hours with the Doctor. This is counterproductive for addicts since they will be unlikely to complete anymore then a few months of treatment before relapsing due to lack of funds. Very shady practice.

Great staff. Very well educated for drug dependency and such a great attitude towards it too. They don't treat you as if you're a criminal, but welcoming, nuturing, and excited to get you back on the horse. Highly recommend.

These doctors are great very understanding and willing to work with you. EVERY clinic like this has strict monetary policies... If you can't afford an office in a nicer neighborhood and a pleasant office setting go back to the cut rate offices or find a different doctor/solution. Been a patient for 2 years without a single issue.

This practice is NOT shady. I have been a client with them for about 3+ years and never had a problem. Yes, its true, its not against the law to give refills on buprenorphine Rx. However, 99% of clinics that prescribe this medicine do NOT give refills and for good reason. Prescribing bupe is very tightly regulated and monitored. The idea behind monthly visits is to keep close tabs on the patient and make sure they are adhering to the treatment plan. Also, for insurance purposes, monthly drug testing and/or counseling may be required. Most of the people complaining about the monthly visits are probably people who cant get their life straight. Is it not cheaper to spend 250 for dr appt and say 300 for medicine per month, for a total of 550, than to use drugs and destroy your life? Its a small price to pay and im willing to pay it. I have seen each doctor that works here on numerous occasions and they are all nice and caring. The office staff also is very good. You also will not have to sit and wait for hours, like most clinics. Great place to go for addiction help. Good luck!!
