What a lovely hotel. Beautiful grounds and interesting wild life to see. The hotel is amazing!! We had a treehouse and the views are outstanding. We cooked in for the evening as there is a little kitchen in the house, but the restaurant looked great. The small cafes around the parks are well kept and offer a good range of food. A lovely weekend away with the family.

Came a few months back. Whilst this zoo is still great with a large selection of animals. Sadly its become far too commercialised with accommodation and the ludicrous idea of golf carts which ruins the tranquility of the zoo with them flying about (wishing they get rid of these). Please turn it back to a zoo rather than a fancy resort

Good place for a day out, park was clearly signposted, animals seemed happy and healthy. Staff were a bit cold and unfriendly in their approach, especially ladies in the main entrance. Also, it would have been better if we had been informed at the front desk about the time the Safari Ride would close.

Dublcheck Cleaning Services EAST KENT visited here. We hold a annual pass for both parks. Today was the last weekend of the school summer holidays and sunny but it felt like the park wasn't fully prepared for the number of visitors. 30+ minute wait for safari lorries and 30+ minute wait for food at lunch (both burger kiosk and the pizza restaurant) just isn't good enough. Only 5 drivers and 2 chefs preparing burgers and no alternative. Many of the enclosures seemed very empty today from monkeys and cats. Still a lovely walk and s nice day so will still recommend but not on a busy day.

Great weekend to spend with the children or simply if you enjoy watching the animals! We stayed in the glamping pods and enjoyed the safari tours. We did a night tour and an early morning tour to see different animals. So sign up for the early morning safari tours as you may end up as a private group and you get to see so much more! The rangers are excellent with their knowledge of the animals. Very impressive!

Disappointing

Disappointing
The Animals are scarce and nowhere to be seen. It's quite disappointing if you're expecting to see the animals. No amusements too. A long way from for instance the west midlands safari park.
The hotel is beautiful though.

Lovely family day out at Port Lymphe Reserve! The staff were very helpful and knowledgable about all of the animals that they have there. Love how much all the animals have to roam freely! The safari and the feeding experienced were great! Can t wait to return!

There are 2 main areas to reserve. One which you cover by truck, other on foot. It took 1 hour in the queue to get on truck. Ride was approximately 50 minutes and you get to see many beautiful animals in the reserve. Other part which you cover by foot takes about 2 hours. So in all you spend 4 hours on this attraction which is not bad.

Really really poor.

Really really poor.

A very expensive day out without seeing a lot of animals. The Safari was only for residents, staying at the zoo, which was not sign posted or on the website. People also driving golf buggies everywhere (assuming this was for residents only too).

Poor how a paying customer gets treated so differently.

P.S don t eat the food, it s all from a microwave.

We went in Oct half term 2015. We came away disappointed as no elephants, zebras or male lion. The park looked unkempt and the truck ride was ridiculous. The roads I expected to be bumpy, but the driver done nothing to avoid the worst parts. I got off feeling battered and bruised, and the speakers weren't working either. Best part of the day was the gift of cheap admission to howletts in the same week.

Brill! Lovely setting and good re-creation of a natural habitat for some interesting animals. A good walk, if not a bit hilly! However the African experience and truck rides through the reserve offers spectacular up close views of many animals including Rhino, giraffe, antelope etc. Plenty of good food stops and coffee places to recharge along the way.

The whole visit was lovely. We stayed in the Treehouse which was overlooking the reserve. It was contemporary and furnished beautifully. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely visit again.

I haven't stayed at the hotel, this is purely for the zoo. The park is huge, expect a lot of walking up and down hills. The safari is good but this time round (January 2018) they didn't stop half way round which with a fidgety 1 year old was a bit tricky. You're not always guaranteed to see the animals and being winter maybe thats the norm.

We visited Port lympe again but in June and found a few more animals 'out and about'. We didn't try the safari this time so can't say whether or not it stopped half way round.

The park provides strollers for the little ones which will try next time as we had brought our own. The dinosaur section is really good, not easy to walk with a little one but something else to look at.

The restaurant when we came in January was lovely, seated us really quickly. This time in June there were no seats and no indication when one would be available. We ate at the burger stand just outside of the restaurant. There were long waits for the food which were OK but not an amazing standard for the price nor a lot of choice.

Would not go again. Wayfinding signage is completely lacking, ticket booth didn't even have any maps to give out. Staff gave confusing directions which led to me going the complete wrong way, without a buggy, meaning I had to carry my two year old a lot of the way. The dinosaur area was OK, but the app is clearly not available for android (not stated on any signage) so we didn't get the full experience. Place was in disrepair, lots of construction going on, hardly any animals about. The exit from the car park isn't even signed! Go to Wingham instead.

Stayed in Giraffe Cottage. All had a super time. Very good accommodation with a great view. Dinner and breakfast cooked by our personal chef was superb. Private safari great. Seemed expensive but for 8 people actually good value. Highly recommended!

The place is a bit untidy with weeds and stinging nettles overgrowing a lot of the pathways and enclosures. My 2 year old got stung by nettles walking along a tight pathway with overhanging stingers. Expected a little more from this place to be honest and probably wouldn't go back

Nice and clean with plenty of animals to see
Lots of things for the kids to do only downside very difficult to find your way round map is very poor and there is very limited signage
spent a lot of time walking round in circles and having to ask members of staff which were everywhere and very friendly
safari was ok seemed to see the same animals all the way round could do with some more variety
All in all a good family day out but would pick howletts over port lympne if had the choice

Such a lovely location (very steep walking as had a pram), well cared for animals (the ones you can see that don't hide). Great conservation and ethos at this wild animal park. Plenty of food places and a safari style trip around the park More

We were very disappointed. We couldn't go on the safari tour as this was only running for people staying at the hotel.

Some of the pens were being clean so we couldn't see the animals. Saw some kids walking around bored. non of the playgrounds are available because of COVID 19, so kids couldn't of course use them.

The meerkats were cute however we didn't see many animals. Not worth the money. Maybe wait until things calm down with Covid 19.

Really enjoyed Port Lympne, good to see animals being looked after well and with large safari like enclosures. They send gorillas and gibbons etc back to the wild. Made me begin to research conservation in depth.

A very friendly and seemingly well run zoo (especially compared to others that I've visited in the UK). Very large safari enclosure with a wide range of animals. Would definitely recommend the vehicle tour if you're visiting.
