The rooms and furniture are a bit outdated but the beds were amazing. You'll sleep like an angel. The staff is considerate and the pools are great for all types of swimmers. Overall, staying here is worth it.

it's good...but man, the parking confusion and the lack of amenity (no breakfast, no free parking) should NOT cost that much to stay. The ceiling is really low !...the shower is a joke. It's only good if you are planning to have a wedding there....there were 3 weddings going on on Saturday night !

This hotel is magnificently decorated in rustic fashion, the service is top-notch and the rooms are spotless. I found the pools to be a bit overcrowded; but also encouraging a familial atmosphere that contributed to an overall successful stay.

I went to the The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa to take care of a business activity for a corporate event and when Mike, the Director of Rooms, came to talk to me he couldn't have been more rude and unprofessional. I would have been there literally five minutes and wouldn't have been in the way of anyone. I'm a firm believer of the phrase, Out of sight out of mind, which I would have been. I was planning on reserving a hotel room with the Bed & Breakfast package for my anniversary but now I can tell you I WILL NOT be sleeping at the Houstonian, nor will I be recommending it to anyone.
Thanks Mike for treating high paying customers like this...

I love it. Cody is amazing, if you go to the front desk ask for Cody to help you. I tipped him $20 and he slipped us a a good discount. (Hotel don t get him in trouble because of this). Aleja is very nice. She s at the Olivette restaurant. The environment is awesome, and the everything is great about this hotel. Little pricey, but worth it

Went to Trellis Spa to a hair appointment the stylist was phenomenal. She did everything but a couple of things I asked for and ended up looking at a picture I showed her she memorized it and envisioned something for me . It was exciting to receive quality you pay for.

I live in Dallas and have family in Houston, so when there are events, my family and I drive to Houston and stay at this amazing hotel - three times now in the last year and a half. The drive is not far, yet the hotel and its surroundings makes us feel like we are really far away from home. The amenities the hotel offers, from indoor tennis courts for my boys, to yoga classes and a huge gym for my hubby...and car service to and from galleria for me! This place satisfies needs for each one of us. The valet guys, to the galleria service drivers, ALL extremely professional - everyone has impressed us above and beyond. We can only think to stay at the Houstonian on every visit - thank you for making our stay such an amazing experience each time!

The Houstonian name carries weight for any true Houstonian. I am a native Houstonian, born and raised. I ve always wanted to stay here. After my 35th birthday dinner my brother brought us here for one night of fun and relaxation. After all, driving safely was out of the question and isn t that what hotels are for? Hospitality? Let me just say that this hotel caters to a certain age group and demographic. If you do not fit into those categories, you will stick out like a sore thumb and they will treat you as such. We stayed one night. 10 hours actually and honestly I didn t feel welcome. We paid extra for a pool view room, which during day light is just a view of the back of people s heads while they read the newspaper. Literally right outside your room window. Upon check out, I brought my robe to concierge to let them know to add it to our bill. When I told the lady behind the desk that I was taking the robe she gave me a face and a gesture suggesting that I was trying to steal it. I had to verbally tell her that we were purchasing the robe. Why would I walk it down to show the desk if I was trying to take it. Very strange. Valet was asking for my ticket before I even asked for my car. We were going to have breakfast first but I felt they were rushing us out. There was a noise complaint on us and we immediately ended the night. We were still paying customers. The rooms were okay enough. Ranch themed. I did enjoy the luxurious bathroom. Honestly I m not sure if the stay is worth the value or if I will return.

Nice hotel but nothing special, rooms have no view and while clean and comfortable are just a regular hotel room. Place caters to meetings with a lot of conference rooms. Very expensive, both rooms and restaurant. Literally $50 for a tough steak, stick with the burger and fries on pub menu.

Very nice hotel with a couple of drawbacks. The rooms were fine-but not extraordinary. Parking is a bit of a walk if you don t valet. There was a wedding going on the same time we stayed so the entrance was blocked. Also, the entry road is one lane both directions and gets blocked with a large party virtually stoping traffic in both directions. The fitness center, tennis courts and pools were really nice.

An excellent location for large scale wine tastings with master class sessions. Secluded, yet convenient with friendly, professional staff, delicious dining opportunities, and plenty of room for overnight guests.

This is a very local hotel with a southern charm. For the price and the service it could have been a 5 star however I did not like having to go through the private club to use the pool and the food at the pool and the complementary breakfast was not good. Great location and service.

The Houstonian is a rather upscale hotel in the Galleria neighborhood of Houston. The rooms are spacious, and you can find the usual amenities that upscale restaurants offer. One huge perk is the use of the Houstonian rec center/gym. It's massive, and has everything from rock climbing to swimming to group classes.

Great hotel. Rooms were nice and well-cleaned. Staff was helpful. The restaurant and bar are super overpriced, but the food is good. They have self park ($16) and valet ($34). The best part about the hotel is the complimentary access to their club - three great pools (including a full 25yd competition pool), multiple gyms, weight room, and excellent group fitness classes.

Just got here and the staff is amazing. Hubby surprised me with a date night for our anniversary and special getaway before baby #4. Jon Pietragallo made this extra special and wanted to make sure his efforts were not gone unnoticed. No wonder the Bush Family raved about the hotel

The Houstonian made planning our wedding completely painless, and the actual event was executed flawlessly. I only wish I actually had time to sit down and eat dinner, as every single guest raved and raved about how amazing the food was. We chose to do a buffet, which turned out spectacular - I have no idea why anyone would ever choose a seated coursed dinner after that, it was amazing. No rubber wedding chicken to be found! The service staff was all incredibly professional, the reception was seamless. All of our vendors had nothing but nice things to say as well. Thanks for helping us host a helluva party, Houstonian!

Beautiful hotel and first class experience. My wife and I sincerely appreciated the hospitality from Jasmine at the front desk and the professionalism of the parking/valet attendants.
We will definitely come back next year during the Christmas season to enjoy the decorations.

Well located Hotel with resort feel. All the amenities, spa area, gym, a beautiful outdoor running track with lots of greenery and three pools! The restaurant is currently being renovated, but nice choices at the bar area. I had a steak and crab, it was delicious nice selection of wines and bottled beer. Another more upscale restaurant is available on the property.

I removed a star because the rooms while clean and comfortable feel dated, especially the washrooms.
Regardless we have been here twice and will be back.

Went here for our company Christmas party and must say this little(not little at all) hidden gem was wonderful. Friend staff and great atmosphere. Some of my coworkers said the rooms were excellent.

Great staff and comfortable rooms, though the hotel and many parts of it are on the older side. Hotel shares pools and gym with the health club next to it, so being as we visited on a holiday, was very crowded with families.
