Everything was exceptional. The only trouble we had was finding the front entrance (you have to drive past the building, take a right to loop around and go down a 1 way street). Other than that I highly recommend this place.

Small but mighty. Probably the best place to stay for what you pay in Harvard Square. Close to Harvard, good eateries nearby, and all you can drink water provided. Excellent front desk service, especially Daniel K, my man! Thanks for the chocolates for the night cap. No frills, but great value. In some rooms, subway trains could be heard, but it could be an issue only if you are very sensitive.

Friendly, attentive staff. Great location mere blocks from Harvard Square and tons of food and things to do. The neighborhood is super cute as is the hotel, which looks like it was converted from a family home (in a good way!).

Fantastic customer service! The room was beautiful and it is located in a great spot! The only hard part was figuring out how to get in. There was a one way street we had to go down and then park. Rooms beautifully and simply appointed. Modern bathrooms, awesome hot water! But their customer service takes the cake! What an amazing staff they have!!!

I've stayed at Veritas a lot over the years. Usually it's very nice - great staff, location, service. I booked a Petite Queen this time around, which is billed as a smaller room with a Queen bed. Smaller - check. Queen bed - not a chance. A double. That was disappointing. The room was pretty much right on Mass Ave as well, with the T rumbling underneath. Not my best stay, and I've taken note not to book that room again.

I didn't spend a night at the hotel i just stayed for an hour or so, very well located a five minutes walk to Harvard square sounded by shops and restaurants, very friendly stuff, lobby very clean and cosy

What a great find this was, in Cambridge MA. Cute hotel, within a short walk of all major attractions. Super friendly and accommodating staff, clean rooms.

There is some wear and tear that you can notice in rooms (like scuff marks, dents in wall). While these are there, they're certainly VERY minor and you have to look close to find them.

Great location and staff. Upon closer inspection of our room in the light of morning, it could have been a bit cleaner. Plus, a few dings in the walls (main room and bathroom) could be repaired to improve the feeling of pride in the establishment. Lobby area must rival most in Boston. Will stay here again.

Fantastic hotel. They were able to make great recommendations for wine bars within walking distance. My room was upgraded to one with a balcony. Very nice decor. They also were able to provide me with a red wine glass for a bottle I brought back from dinner and were able to hold my leftovers in the hotel fridge.

Ugh what a lovely romantic experience. I booked a queen room with a balcony and what a lovely time it was. The hotel found out that I was getting married, so when I was out, the staff snuck in chocolates as a surprise for me. The location is perfect because it's very close to Harvard square, but the hotel is quiet and peaceful. I slept like a baby. The hotel itself is a mix of elegance, old style charm and modernity. The furniture was very 20s, but the bed was 100% modern - so comfortable and lovely.

Nice room. Small. Nice little lounge. Great location. Liked the small lobby. Short walk to the T and lots of dining choices. Quick drive back to Mass Pike East. Nice people. Homey feel. We'll be back.

Excellent! I would definitely come here again. Feels like home. The only thing I didn't like is train. The hotel is located above the subway line and you can hear every train going through.

A bit noisy, probably depending on which room you get. It's a lovely little boutique hotel in a good location with friendly staff. There is some train and street noise, but I'd stay again.

The location is perfect and the staff was cordial. I was disappointed in the facilities. This is less a boutique hotel (which is what I had expected) than a repurposed boarding house. Small room, microscopic bathroom. Street noise quite loud. No real amenities.

Amazing experience. Stayed in the only balcony room, absolutely beautiful hotel. Friendly, helpful staff, lent me a lintroller to help me prepare for my evening. Close enough to Harvard to hear the bells, fantastic eats nearby and great complimentary tea.

My qualms with Hotel Veritas stem from the fact that the room I was assigned was either incorrectly represented on the booking site (the onus is on the hotel to remedy this) or was simply not the correct room (I raised this concern to staff, but to no avail). As consumers, we are oftentimes expected to roll over and just be grateful for whatever the "Daddy" Warbucks-es of the world deign to give us; I'm just here to point out the differences between what I was ensured of as a patron of this business and what I actually got.

I'll start with the good stuff, because Hotel Veritas does have some nice perks. Its location is pretty fantastic with public transit links and easy-going, reasonably-priced valet service available for those who want it. There is a nespresso machine, drawers of water, juice, and soda, and (in the morning at least) tortas free for the taking right by the front desk. The communal areas are thoughtfully put together and welcoming.

Now, the bad. I booked what was advertised as a 172-sq.ft. "Queen Room" with a standard, queen-sized bed, down duvet, and Egyptian cotton linens, and all your modern amenities (ie. heating, ipod dock, flat-screen tv); this sounds pretty good, right? Yeah! The problem is that as soon as we walked into the room, we knew that //most// of what we'd paid for, we weren't getting. We could see that the bed in the room wasn't a queen; so, I let the front desk know to which I was told that it absolutely was a queen, but a PETITE queen. Many people misuse the word "literally," but I literally had to bite my tongue in that moment so as to avoid laughing in the face of this poor soul who was probably just trying to do their job. But, really:

PETITE. QUEEN.

Okay, so I didn't get the bed that was advertised; what else? Well, the 172-sq.ft. room also turned out to be 20 ft. smaller than listed, the heating was dismal and hotel staff seemed to think that a space heater (which was not in the best condition) placed within two feet of the bed was both a safe and effective alternative, there were bodily fluids on the poly-fill duvet (ducks and geese, as you know, are full of down but completely devoid of this material...), cotton-poly blend sheets on the not-queen-sized bed, no ipod dock, and the building's one elevator had a state inspection certificate that was already six months into being expired.

In all, Hotel Veritas could certainly do more to live up to its name. There needs to be more truthfulness in their room descriptions had I known I was getting a 150-sq.ft. room with a bed somewhere between a full and queen, cotton-poly sheets, a poly-fill duvet, and minimal heat/questionable cleanliness, I would've either looked into booking a different room or sought out accommodation elsewhere.

In the heart of Cambridge, this place is very quaint. It felt different from any other hotel I have stayed at. The staff was very friendly. They have a coffee machine near the reception area that makes okay cappuccino. It was really enjoyable to grab a coffee and sit downstairs to read and relax.

Intimate, clean, friendly. Super location in the heart of Cambridge, easy walking to Harvard Square. Reception was very...receptive, and helpful. Refreshing change from large, corporate hotels, yet still luxurious. No negative points to address.

Never write reviews but had to about this place. The bed was so comfortable, the stay was affordable for the lovely enviorment you are getting. The lobby was comfortable and classy as was the decor of the room itself. They also had a great espresso machine and juice and water bottles for everyone. The smaller room is obviously small, but it was prefect for one person traveling. Def going back and would recommend to anyone else as well.

Nice hotel, very comfortable bed and thick towels. I liked this place because it was a great location, and it had an old building feel but was well kept up. The decor was a mix of modern and classical
