Beautiful hotel in the middle of the historical old town of Dresden. Highly Recommended!
Beautiful hotel in the middle of the historical old town of Dresden. Highly Recommended!
The room on the 4th floor was spacious. The luggage was brought to the room unsolicited, after this was ready. The pool was pleasantly warm, the sauna however a bit getting old.
Very good hotel and my dog is welcome. Staff competent and very friendly.
Nice location, especially with the ice rink in the courtyard during the winter, prices are ok if you can afford it. Friendly staff
Nice ice rink in winter, great courtyard, nice service and a very good buffet.
Excellent stay in the hotel. Got a nice single room, and everyone in the hotel was very friendly. For dinner, the hotel offers 2-3 restaurants and the location directly on the Zwinger is of course unique. Quiet and still central. Room was big, bathroom big, everything was clean and quiet. A really great hotel with charm and great flair, a real grand hotel. Due to the circumstances, the breakfast was served - again, unique service and a great selection of dishes, the quality of the breakfast was also great.
Couple under 50 in the Taschenbergpalais: The hotel also left positive aspects and impressions, but the benchmark in this price category and the hotel's own standards is perfection and therefore I give only 1 star. Why? When you arrive in the 3rd basement of the park, you hit the sign "Elevator defective" with your suitcase - and run the stairs. Funny that the guy in front of the hotel entrance does not point out that the suitcase could have been left at the top. The spa area is very manageable and with medium occupancy it quickly ends with service. But that is not possible, neither at the cheap baker nor at the Palais: the waiters in the restaurant grab food and bread without gloves and serve with a grin. Unfortunately, I can't stand that ... NO GO. YUCK!
Recommended - this ambience has something special !!
Wonderful fish dishes and a great dessert cart, highly recommended
Everything perfect
Staff friendly and courteous
Room super clean
The only drawback is that the extra bed cannot be used as a bed
But basically everything is great
Great hotel, super location, excellent cuisine. All that belongs to a five-star hotel. Parking well resolved even though it is the center of a big city, you give in keys and you don't care about anything. The interior of the hotel is decorated with the style of the hotel, and the historic center is irritated, even though a few places already have a tooth of time, cleanliness but first class as well as breakfast and dinner in two restaurants in the hotel. Ideal location for a city tour, opera directly opposite the hotel, cheaper rooms facing the courtyard, more expensive with a beautiful view of the old city core. The operator always has a pleasant, unusually located swimming pool on the top floor of the hotel, sometimes I had difficulty orientating in many old elevators in such an old house, which lies in different parts of the hotel, but the overall impression fulfilled our expectations.
Very nice hotel in Dresden's historic old town. The room is very nicely decorated.
Probably the best and most beautiful hotel on the square.
I felt like a queen here when I stayed at the hotel during the Depeche Mode concert.
Breakfast, service reception and room service were a dream, not to mention the beds. I will gladly return.
Everything was great, but the best part is the location!
Perfect city center hotel with an ice rink in the courtyard!
Stylish in the middle of the historic old town of Dresden. The stay at the Taschenbergpalais was great from start to finish. The staff was incredibly friendly and incredibly service minded. If Dresden, then in the Taschenbergpalais! We are looking forward to our next stay.
It was as always a very good Christmas from my employer.
Just awesome!
The hotel is worth every euro you pay there.
The room was just beautiful, it was huge with about 5 meter high ceilings. The servus and the staff were all just perfect, we had the feeling of being really well received during our entire stay.
When we came back from our sightseeing tour in the evening we were really flashed, the beds were turned down in the room, the curtains were drawn, the TV was brought into position and the towels in the bathroom were laid out. What a service and so you imagine 5 stars.
We have stayed in many 5 star hotels, but we've only seen something like this in the best of the best hotels.
The breakfast, just one word:
Parfait !!
Be sure to try the Eggs Benedict! It's addicting. The breakfast selection was simply not to be had, special requests? No problem, the coffee and the latte machiato are delicious!
We will definitely only book the Taschenbergpalais when we are in Dresden.
Thank you again for this great stay.

The best hotel in Dresden.
Very friendly staff.
Any time.
This house is a shame for the Kempinski brand.
We had our stay at Pentecost and got an upgrade to our room category (originally Surperior) due to the spa, which was closed for renovation.
The service in the Taschenbergpalais is reserved and hard-working.
Our room had a direct view of the Dresden Zwinger. Fortunately, you can't hear the subway in front of the house due to the excellent noise insulation.
The facility belongs closed to the bulky waste. And reminds of the last stay in an old hostel. Walls and inventory show scratches and quirks across the board. Particularly noticeable was a 20 cent piece wide and 1.5 cm deep flaw in the wardrobe at chest height.
The staff explained this to us on arrival due to the age of the house. We feel that such defects are unreasonable at this price level and that inventory can be taken care of by a house carpenter. The shower only knows the states boiling or icy.
It should also be noted that because of the bombing in World War II, the only really old thing on the Taschenbergpalais is the facade. The hotel was built in the 90s.
The level of cleanliness corresponds to very poor 4 star hotels. The thick layer of dust in the minibar was very clearly visible - that's just embarrassing.
As compensation, we were offered a 10 voucher for the next booking. This is an absolute joke at these prices and not a compensation but marketing.
The situation is similar with the Nespresso in the room where a fee is charged for capsules that are reminiscent of the discounter - this is anything but contemporary and disqualifies the Nespresso as an enumerable inventory of the room category.
Another sign of a lived rip-off philosophy was the lack of a welcome drink. This has been replaced by a Prosecco voucher that can only be used for an aperitif in the in-house restaurants.
We stayed at the Kempinski for 4 nights. The service in the restaurant was an absolute disaster. Disorganized, sometimes rude. Cigarette butts from the day before under the breakfast table, dirty tablecloths. Discharge at 6 p.m. in the inner courtyard, which actually invites you to linger. The service staff just walk past full tables, although you could always take something back with you. The forces there looked like they had never done this job before. Wait up to 1 hour for operation. The room cleaning was simply forgotten, although asked for it.
A house with these prices and this class ... we are disappointed.
Even if it is certainly a bit more difficult in Corona times, many things that the four of us have experienced are not acceptable.
Very good friendly service nice standard room except constant ventilation in the bathroom very disturbing at night. Great breakfast. To recommend
Arisen from ruins - today pure luxury under the leadership of the Kempinski group!
The first house on the square in Dresden. The price level is fair, the location is great. Wonderful historical ambience, nice little spa area. Great breakfast and a good range of restaurants. Perfect for a romantic weekend in Dresden.
One tries to fulfill every wish.
You don't need to say much about this ... Kempinski !!
I don't think you have to write anything more about the location, perfect!
The rooms are, as expected, very nice and clean. The inventory in our room left a lot to be desired in one place or another; The cabinet door did not close properly and the light was on permanently, the make-up mirror in the bathroom absolutely needs to be replaced and worst of all, the toilet smelled unpleasant of feces (the bathroom was very clean! It was probably due to the ventilation).
The breakfast was good and sufficient, the service was good to very good depending on the day.
The service at the front desk was consistently friendly and helpful.
Very nice renovated / renovated building / hotel. The food / breakfast is very rich and fresh. The service was very good but a bit stiff; maybe think about delayed training!
+ Top hotel in the best location, perfect for combining with a visit to the opera
+ incredibly polite and sophisticated staff
+ unexcited atmosphere that exudes a lot of calm
+ attractive rooms
+ Kempinski is not 5-star everywhere, definitely here
+ Beautifully renovated pool
- Poached egg not quite perfect, but good
-very central location
- courteous, very friendly service
- great hotel restaurant (even after the opera around 10:30 p.m. the kitchen is still open and the last guests came shortly before midnight)
- cozy rooms
Very nice historical and very clean hotel. The staff is highly professional. It is tried that every wish is fulfilled.
The breakfast is delicious and of very high quality and really worth its 35 .
The rooms are of course very nice and clean.
As a surprise, I ordered a warm buffet plate for my wife on arrival, everything was delivered on time and professionally.
Only professionals work there, so it's really fun to take a vacation there. The wellness area is highly recommended, especially the massages.
Good hotel and always nice after the Semperoper in the small restaurant there
We felt very comfortable and will be back :-)
Staff very polite and courteous, breakfast highly recommended, room (junior suite) cozy and comfortably furnished, concierge and valet service very attentive.
Fantastic experience all round, but the price does not quite match other properties in Dresden and the surrounding area.
Beautiful, sprawling hotel with multiple restaurants and bars attached plus other amenities. Private parking garage under the hotel is great for security and peace of mind! The staff was amazing and spoke flawless English. The ambiance of being in a hotel that at one time was a palace is incredible. You can't beat the experience here!
There is ample parking near the hotel, both covered car parks and regular parking.
The hotel itself is conveniently located 10 minutes from the Primark and the shopping areas and right inside the historic area.
The bathroom is separated from the bathroom.
The room itself is large and spacious.
The bathroom included both a bathtub and a shower.
The bathroom is huge and also suitable for the tall ones.
The only drawbacks I think are that the pool was in the renovation (during the summer). And there was no king-size bed.
Lovely hotel! Feel like kings) Beware! There are many nude Germans in the sauna!
Perfect from the beginning!
Already at the reservation attention was paid to every detail. We had a wonderful room - in a desirable location and quiet - it was very spacious and stylish. The bathroom was very big.
The staff at the front desk and in the breakfast restaurant as well as the day bar were exceedingly friendly and courteous.
We spent an unforgettable weekend in Dresden to the Kaisermania and could round off these days in a really grandiose hotel.
We were thrilled and will definitely be back !!
Many thanks!!
Great atmosphere, attentive and attentive staff. Outstanding breakfast buffet. Traveling is fun.
Kempinski in the most beautiful places - always worth a visit worldwide.
Pice is high... but apart from it everything that is 'expected' is not included in price (city tax, Internet (free is not usable, paid - 6 euro per hour(sic!), parking (20 euro), breakfast (30 euro per person), TV channels, ... and so on) not best experience if you have to pay extra for everything.
Location is superior.
Rooms are... great if you like such style. Also they are very (I mean ~4,5m) tall.
Good and sophisticated hotel in the center of all sights. Here you can reach everything important from the city.
Wellness is ok, but everything is pretty small. Treatment was very good (full body massage) but with a delay.
It is always a pleasure and a guarantee to come here!
Top service and great ambience. Breakfast highly recommended!
It is my first stay for about 5 years.
The decoration of the room remains as it is, and the keys and air conditioning have been remodeled to make it very easy to use.
There is a large room, and if you choose a room with a city view, you can see the Semperoper and the palace from the window.
Located in the center of the tourist area, it is convenient to go anywhere.
Breakfast is delicious and versatile and should be used.
Tea is also prepared for breakfast at the German brand "Ronnefeld".
Recent hotel recommendations are like afternoon tea in cafe space. Next time I would like to make time and use it.
Parking is valet parking.
Some of the staff seemed to be poor at English, but the response is great.
Great hotel, good service and great location in the old town of Dresden, surrounded by all the sights!
Nice hotel, not as swish as it's flagship kempinski in Berlin by any means.Good concierge system.Housekeeping a bit hit and miss with dirty cups left in room some days.Decent amount of restaurants in and around hotel.Karl May Bar a bit kitsch but worth a look.Nice touch with sekt at breakfast time.Breakfast buffet lukewarm.
Big disappointment. One wonders where the 5 stars superior come from. Double room with dog booked by phone. No indication that the spa area is being renovated. No dog basket etc. in the room as described. Shower without a seal therefore flooding in the entire bathroom. Complaint at the front desk brought only a "I will pass it on, I'm sorry", but nothing changed. Service at breakfast was absolutely amazing. It was refilled very, very slowly. We also had to wait 15 minutes to even be brought to the square. You miss everywhere the friendliness and courtesy of the staff as it would be in such a house.
We're definitely not coming here anymore.
Upscale hotel. Highly recommended. In 2016, the Foreign Ministers Conference of the G7 Summit took place here.
After slumming our was through Eastern Europe on a budget we detoured to Dresden and booked the Kempinski. It was delightfully luxurious and surprisingly affordable.
Sensational hotel, service for five ... I recommend with a clear conscience.
The Taschenbergpalais is certainly the first choice if you are on holiday in Dresden for a few days. The location cannot be surpassed by any hotel: Castle, Zwinger, Semperoper are right in front of the door and the Frauenkirche is just a few minutes' walk away.
As in all Kempinski stores, the service is almost perfect and impresses with its attention and discretion.
Beautiful hotel with very noble rooms! Have just arrived and already excited. Great and friendly welcome at the reception. Room very clean and tastefully decorated. Even the way to the room through the historic hotel building is a real highlight. We also find the parking garage very practical with direct access to the hotel via elevator. Disinfectants are available in many places in the house - also very pleasant in times of Corona :) We are still looking forward to a great stay :)
Lovely hotel with super location in relation to the Altstadt. Delicious rooms and very delicious breakfast. Clear recommendation.
In winter great ice rink. Admission a bit expensive.
Unique very fresh food, super friendly service simply 1st choice in Dresden
great location of the 5 star hotel with old charm!
Unfortunately the wellness area is moldy.
Breakfast buffet between 9-10 a.m. only with a waiting time of 10 minutes
Extra bed worn out so that it hurts instead of relaxing after the night with the child.
Really expected more!
Always beautiful. Best service. Top trained always polite staff, which endeavors to every guest, here you feel welcome and well, centrally located Zwinger, Semperoper, Frauenkirche everything is within walking distance in a few minutes. Now with modernized spa. One of the nicest hotels for me.
The Taschenbergpalais in the heart of Dresden's Old Town is a beautiful, time-honored hotel. We were there at Christmas time and had a attic room with a view of the Opera. Unfortunately, the windows in this room are very high and the view was only possible with the help of a chair or a small step out of the window. All in all, the rooms are a bit out of the "time" and a bit worn. The breakfast has been really great. The service was also very courteous and friendly. In the courtyard there was an ice rink, which also enchants with a wonderful charm.
I was there on the rink. The atmosphere is great, and the white mulled wine tastes great. I like to go there. It is worth it ..
As expected, excellent, from location, ambience, service, to catering. Quite rightly, Barack Obama has already spent the night here.
