Hostel Casa de Lis Review

Great hostel with friendly staff and good service. We had a private double room with our own bathroom and it was perfect for a very affordable price.

We spent two nights here while we were doing rafting and canyoning trips in the area. My family of four stayed in a private room with three bunk beds and our own bathroom. Glad that we stayed here and it was nice to meet other travellers.

This hostel was amazing! The beds were comfortable (considering they were bunk beds), there were bed stands with reading lights at each bed which was nice. The kitchen was great and I really liked the system they had with food where everyone marked their food and when they left they moved it too a free shelf. The terrace and back garden were great (see the attached photos). The staff was very friendly and even let us keep our stuff secured in a closet after we had checked out. One of the most helpful qualities was the abundance of helpful maps and bus schedules.

Clean and cozy place.
Maybe a little expensive.
Rooms without air conditioning, but the truth is that you do not need overnight.
It has a nice terrace where you can make a barbecue, shared kitchen, and space to hang clothes if you need to wash it.
I think it's the best you'll find in Turrialba if it fits into your budget.

Super nice and cute place. Easy to enjoy some beers on the roof. The town was great too. Kitchen could use some more sharp knives! It's nice because as of 1.1.18, it's not on hostelworld so it wasn't very crowded!

Hostel Casa de Lis is one of the best hostels in Costa Rica. Is is very family run. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The travelers are helped in every imaginable way. You can almost speak of concierge service. The rooms and the communal kitchen were spotless. There are rooms but also shared rooms in every price category. We recommend.

What a lovely little place! Clean and modern. Located close to everything in town. We celebrated Christmas eve in the hammocks on the rooftop patio - very memorable!

Clean rooms and an incredibly hospitable staff (owners?). They arranged whitewater rafting for us and when my wife was feeling a bit I'll they even offered some medicine to us, which was very sweet. Great suggestions on where to go for food, what to see, etc.

Great Hostel in Turrialba! Clean, in a safe area, has parking, and on route to many great locations.

Super clean, Super friendly and helpful, Great location in town.Turrielba farm market, Friday and Saturday , bus station, super market,5 minute walk.Planed on 1 night, stayed 4 nights.For great side trip, visit, the farm , Finca Y Granja Loma Bonita, contact the farm owner for pickup, the road can be rough.

We loved the Turrialba area, the hostel is great, everything new, super clean bathrooms, very complete kitchen and a great breakfast backyard. At the reception, very friendly and they helped us with the activities to do! It is a very cool place! 100% recommended

Perfect, the best quality hotel I have been to in Costa Rica. I've been to other hotels that were much worse for more. Both the owner and the girl at the reception seemed charming. We used the laundry service and they even folded our clothes. There is free coffee and tea all day and kitchen for guest use.

Excellent location. I raise the rating in view that they have already closed the hateful liquor store that spoiled the environment and I can attest that the place is extremely quiet. I do not know its interior, it seems cozy and pleasant.

Decent hostel with a nice roof terrace. The location in the village is quite central and close to the bus station. The rooms are quite small because there must be space for as many beds as possible. But the bathroom was quite big for that. In my room I even had a TGL bathroom and a balcony. That was really great. The beds are comfortable. But when the rooms are fully occupied it is very tight and you can hardly walk.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is also clean and most things like salt, pepper and oil are allowed to be used by the general public. If you want to stay in Turrialba, I recommend this hostel. I just found Turrialba not very worth visiting.

Arrived without warning and without reservation after the reception closed, we were very kindly received by the magnificent de Lis, who was able to find us a perfect room, with bathroom, balcony and even an anti mosquito plug!
The hostel is very well run, spacious, charming and spotlessly clean, all for a very affordable price. I recommend with your eyes closed!

Quality unbeatable price the place is super clean, there are many common areas, kitchen, living room, roof terrace, garden I recommend it 100% if you have to stay in Turrialba, also great location is in the center near supers, sodas etc.
