Terribly mismanaged and their priorities are in the wrong place sports are considered more important than a quality education. Look elsewhere if you re considering sending your child to Horizon Christian Academy. The five star reviews are students who are incentivized by staff members.

My daughter started at HCA in 2018. She has had 2 awesome years at HCA. The staff immediately made her feel welcome, and she has had 2 amazing teachers. They really care about their students, and their growth both academically and spiritually.

It is our 3rd year at HCA. We have both an elementary and a high school student there. Our family has found it a pretty great fit for our needs! Our kids have made some great friends along the way as well.
We like the smaller class sizes, more one on one attention with teachers (when extra help is needed,) and the overall environment in which our kids are learning and growing.
No place is perfect but any (small) issues we have had here have been dealt with in a timely and respectable manner with teachers & admin. We are happy with HCA and after our big guy graduates we plan on keeping the elementary one there for the long haul!

I attended this school from mid fall of 2016 to mid fall of 2017. I left the school in the middle of my senior fall semester. Honestly the only good thing to come out of this school is 2 of my close friends who agreed in how horrendous this school is. The staff that made my junior year great left by my senior year. I hope that the issues that were prevalent in my time there have been fixed. Some of these issues involved racial discrimination, sexual harassment, as well as lack of quality education. These issues got so bad which led me to leaving senior year. Honestly, If you'd like your child to go to school in the 1930's this is definitely the choice for you!

This school has a problem with discrimination. They denied my children an opportunity to explore this school due to the fact that my husband and I do not identify with their faith. Despite the fact that I have so much respect for Christianity, and I teach my kids to respect all faiths. From my understanding, Christianity is about being kind and accepting to ALL something that this school does not represent.

A group of teachers and parents most certainly went to the board AND admin this time last year. When nobody would listen, we all showed up in the parking lot of the school until someone took notice. Sadly, none of our concerns were addressed. We lost a huge group of absolutely amazing teachers, and the PTF was dismantled. What a way to shut us up, huh? The school is so financially unstable that they cannot provide adequate materials for appropriate classroom instruction. The absolute bare minimum is provided. Last year, a couple of elementary teachers went rogue and brought technology into their classrooms without support from administration. The elementary principal tried everything she could to get grants, but nothing was supported!! There were a couple of teachers in secondary who brought in some progressive ideas (they are no longer there!!). This school is not worth the money. It has so much potential, but as long as the current administration is in place, nothing good will happen.

My friend called the school inquiring about her daughters enrolling in the school. They told her that her girls would not be able to enroll unless they were a Christian. I am so disappointed to hear this is still happening at this day and time where there is discrimination towards their religious beliefs. God loves everyone no matter what religion, race or color. As a Christian, this should never happen to a non Christian. This is not a good representation of Christianity. I will never allow my Christian child to be a part of a narrow minded school. It breaks my heart to hear this still going on.

We have two boys enrolled at HCA. They are now in 6th and 7th grade. We feel extremely blessed to be apart of the HCA family. My boys are developing strong friendships. There is such a great group of kids supported by wonderful families. The school environment is very nurturing. Strong academics has always been important to us. We have been very pleased with the balance between developing character, the academics and sports. Most important, both my boys love their school!

The entire HCA community cares for the well being of students. It is a supportive environment in which to learn and grow. With small class sizes, all students have the support they need and the opportunity to come together.
