Central Library is a 12-story building and the largest of the public libraries in Hong Kong. It is located at 66 Causeway Road just across from Victoria Park. Opening hours are 10am to 9pm daily, Wednesdays 1-9pm.
Here you will find expected public services including sections reference and research material, periodicals, book lending, computer access as well as free Gov Wifi, something tourists might be specifically interested in using.
For those with children who have longer stays in Hong Kong, you might like to know that the 2nd floor of Central Library includes a Children's activity room, multimedia room (age 3-12) and a Toy Library play area. You can reserve sessions in each by calling the reservation number provided on the library website.
There is also a rather large gallery space at the Central Library where exhibitions are occasionally held. It is not easy to tell when there are going to be exhibitions so just have look if visiting the Library to see if anything is ongoing.
Best place to hang out imho. Great view on 5th floor. Lots of books and lots of seats.

The collection is not as rich as expected. The main entrance is not on the road. It needs to be from the stairs or the escalator. This layer is divided into two main service desks, namely, various applications and borrowing/renewing/returning books. Staff are well-trained to provide courteous and thoughtful service; there is also a cafe and bookstore; the upper level is for children's books; the upper level is the adult book area; the upper level is the expired squat area. Note that the books in each layer are divided into Chinese and English. Note that the book also has a drop-in box (in the right front), and the renewal can be done by a library card alone without a book.
