Had damages from a hurricane. I feel like the people that work here do not care at all about their customers. They should really consider taking an extra 1 to 2 minutes to explain what is and is not covered when someone is making a claim. I feel completely taken advantage of. I advise anyone looking, to avoid this company.
This company took over the remaining four months of my homeowners policy when Anchor Insurance lost its rating with the DOI. My policy was paid in full to my lender and I was told I had to do nothing as this was a "seamless" transfer of business. Not so...Homeowners billed my lender for an entire 12 policy so I am basically in errors in my escrow account until Homeoweners refunds the money to me or the bank. In addition, they have now sent me a new policy and the rates increased from $741 with Anchor to $1,860 with Homeowners! This issue has been going on since February and with no resolution so I filed a complaint with FL DOI in hopes of getting this resolved!
See my review from 3 weeks ago. Still no refund check. It has now been 53 days since I tried to cancel my policy. You be the judge
Homeowners Choice service reps have always been extremely pleasant, informed and responsive. My issues were cleared up withing minutes. Claims are hassle free and resolved successfully without complication.

Homeowners Choice has excellent customer service they are extremally helpful and knowledgeable and the rates are competitive in Florida.
These guys will be out of business soon. If you have any significant claim to make then you WILL need to lawyer up. Sue first, ask questions later with these bozos.
