Queen bedroom set was missing a few parts and was broken. The dresser was missing a screw, the nightstand had a cracked drawer, and the headboard was missing a couple of legs. Went to customer service office the next day. The gave me all the missing parts and exchange a part no questions asked. Great customer service.
PS. This Homemakers is located in Polk county and I live in Polk county. They were charging me 7% sales tax on my purchase and delivery. They need to update their system to the correct tax code!

I was helped by JoAnn and she did a fantastic job. She was friendly and helpful and checked to see if the couch I was interested in was in stock before walking me around the store. She was incredibly efficient for the check out process and the pick up area was great as well. Overall, it took less than 30 minutes to eat some cookies, pick out a couch, pay, and get it loaded in our truck. Fantastic service and I will be back in the future.

It's easy to have big sales and sell furniture. Homemakers does that very well. It is not as easy to take care of people after the sale when there is a problem. For us, Homemakers is getting an F in that category. Our reclining equipment broke on a 2 month old sofa. Can't hardly get someone to call us back and tell us where we are at in getting it taken care of. Here we are now 8 weeks later and we have no idea what is going on and no one will call us back.

With the doors opened my wife and I went in on sunday to purchase a new mattress. Brian helped up incredibly. My wife had 2 brain tumors removed and at first was good but after going through a selection of mattresses that Brain thought would be what we needed, my wife was having hard time communicating. Not once did he refer everything to me, he patiently waited for her answer his question. We bought the mattress and Homemaker's is extremely lucky to have a rep like Brian who knows the value of creating lifelong valued customer.

Just bought a couple items from homemakers and am very happy with the purchases. One was a chair to match a set bought a few years ago. They were still able to get it even though they don't carry that model anymore. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Loading was fast and easy.

I love Homemakers! The warranty companies they sell or worthless! We have bought most if not all of our furniture from Homemakers with warranties. I have 3 kids, a dog and a cat. If there is an excuse for them not to cover it, they will find it! They have fixed nothing! Nothing!!! Waste of money and Homemakers will don nothing about it. They say that it's not theirs but they recommended and sold them in their receipt! They should have some kind of support. Don't waste your money!!

We've been planning new LR furniture for some time and between the time off over the holidays and the fantastic financing offer at Homemakers Furniture, we pulled the trigger. It is so nice having a showroom the size of Hm right in Des Moines. It's hard NOT to find exactly what you want. Our Salesman, Don Stone, took all the time we needed, answered all my many questions, and was ready to write up our sale when we returned a couple days later. No pressure, tons of options, and a great deal on financing!

The people are very nice and helpful, but the warranty service is the worst I have encountered in my life, and I am 70+ yrs. old. I bought a recliner with a lifetime time warranty on parts, and have had to have the framework replaced 3 times and finally gave up after 6 months of trying to get the parts, have given up. I can only throw the chair away. It was an expensive chair and a well known manufacturer. I do not know where the fault lies, probably the manufacturer, but Homemakers is a large enough company that I would certainly assume they have some power when it comes to service related products. Plus I was getting many different costs quoted to me. It was never the same. Of course things go up, but to spend over $100 to have a free part put in a chair is little reprehensible. 1.) the part keeps breaking (what about the lemon law) 2.) cost of installation, delivery, and taxes are extremely high and keep changing (going up). 3.) Waiting over 6 months for a part is undeniably the worst kind of service ever. Ask lots of questions about warranties, service & repair charges and timeliness. The sales people need to be more aware of the warranties, etc. I would like for there to be better training of their personnel in all facets of their positions. PLEASE ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS ABOUT EVERYTHING. I have never written a review before, but this is so unbelievably bad, I felt I had no choice. I have to throw away an expensive chair ( no offer to replace, waive the fees, nothing. I am out more than $1000 and no chair. I would not advise any one to step foot in the store.. Look at the reviews about this store. I had thought they had gotten better about customer service, but their old reputation continues. So BUYER BEWARE!!! I know they will never see me in there again, and I will be sure to spread my opinion with everyone I can think of to tell.

While I generally enjoy shopping here, my experience yesterday is what is prompting me to leave this review. I purchased a piece of furniture, and I specifically asked if it would come unassembled so that it would fit in my vehicle and I was told that it would, otherwise I would not have bought it. Once I arrived to pick it up not only did I have to wait for over 45 minutes but it was fully assembled and would not fit in my vehicle. I was told I would have to come back with a bigger vehicle or have it delivered. So I called to see about delivery and was told they would not be in my area to deliver until the middle of November and the fee would be $80. The person I spoke with acted like I was crazy for not being ok with spending $80 to wait almost 2 months for delivery. So I ended up cancelling the order, but what really upset me through this whole process is that no one apologized at all, everyone I dealt with made it seem like the whole situation was my fault somehow. By the way, the item I attempted to pick up was a futon, and I have a Jeep Cherokee in which the front passengers seat folds flat. So had it come ready to assemble like I was told it would have fit fine.

Deb was great to work with. My husband and I actually visited with her a year ago and we didn t make a decision at that time. This year we got lucky and had her help us again. She is honest and shares great insight when she shows you what you re looking for. We don t have our furniture yet, but I m so excited by all the options she provided and all the help she gave in picking out our perfect color. I would recommend her and Homemakers to all of my friends and family. The choices available are staggering! Great experience.

Had great service in the store and even on the phone when I called back in to order. I m super bummed that I am going to have to wait 7 weeks to get my bed and mattress delivered. I was told the truck only comes out to our area every two weeks. I was also told I would get a call back yesterday but haven t heard yet, as they were going to try and see if I might get it any earlier 7 weeks is a long time for me to talk myself out of getting the bed or to shop around and will most likely cancel my order. Bummed because loved the price and shopping for a new bed and mattress can be super stressful as it is!

Homemakers Furniture is an impressive store. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever been in another furniture store this big. The only thing better than the quantity of items Homemakers has is the quality of their items. My wife and I have been very happy with our purchases here.

One of the other great aspects of Homemakers' selection is the price range of the items they have. I went in expecting to only see very expensive high-end furniture. However, while they do have those pieces, they also have plenty of items perfect for a college student on a budget and everything in between.

Finally, Be sure to check out the clearance room at Homemakers. My wife and I found a beautiful Ashley kitchen table there. It matched our kitchen perfectly and cost less than a kitchen table from Target would have. a $400 table for $150 is a great bargain in my book!

I tried to purchase from Homemakers again. The prices make you go back but the sales staff drives me out.

My husband and I went on Sunday to purchase a new mattress. I wanted a few minutes to look at the beds without a salesperson with us. I asked the salesman for some space/time 3 times politely. He stepped back 5 feet but continues to stalk us. The fourth time I was rude. He said he had to stay with us. At this point I was upset and left.

We went to sleep number and spent 3X as much money on a mattress but I am so much happier. I would rather pay more money and not feel stalked by the sales staff.

I don't know when I will ever learn. I keep trying to go back to homemakers but time after time I walk out because of the sales staff. Please train them to listen to the customers. I felt like I couldn't even talk to a different salesperson because the stalker (Manny) had already marked his territory.

Everyone was super helpful and anwered any questions asked. They also brought me to a few different items that were in my price range and gave me great recommendations on products. My gift card ended up not working and the cashier helped me fix the problem and was super friendly. I found everything I needed and more and was able to find my items perfectly! Great store!

This was my first experience "adulting" and purchasing furniture of my own that wasn't a hand-me-down or something purchased off Craigslist. I went on a Sunday (I highly suggest going on a week night to avoid the crowds) and also on Monday. I was pretty overwelmed with the amount of items, but happy that there was a large selection. I liked that a lot of the furniture is set up in a way that you can envision it in your home. I ended up purchasing a couch and was extremely satisfied with the help of the employee to help me find a couch that fit my needs but also in my price range. He wasn't pushy to get me to purchase one or another, but seemed to really want me to find exactly what I was looking for. I want to go back and get some decor to make my new place feel like home!

Mitch helped us pick out a new sectional. He wasn't too pushy and helped us find what we were looking for. We were told it would be 2 weeks before it could be delivered, but we got a call later that evening that the delivery date could be moved up a whole week. It was missing a power cord, but I got a call just 2 hours after it was delivered saying they would get one mailed to me right away.

I always have a good experience at Homemakers. Employees were very helpful even when I decided not to splurge on the big couch that day. She made me feel comfortable deciding to buy it when I felt more ready, and I will definitely contact her when the time comes. I did make a purchase and the cashier was friendly and helpful. There was a problem with running my card, and he normalized the situation, and provided me with the resources so my bank wouldn't charge me twice. And lastly, the cookies are always great!

I bought a sectional 1 year ago. I have had nothing with problems with this. I work "2" jobs I am never home. There are spots that are wearing off of the material. I am told this is normal wear and tear. My cushions that are on the back of the sectional sinking and smooshed. I was told by their tech that my 4 pound cat caused this and there is nothing we can do due to this is NORMAL!! When I had them out the first time for the same reason they replaced the cushion covers. This time NOTHING!!! Why because it is a year old... I work "2"jobs and hardly ever home. So this NORMAL wear and tear is a bit excessive.... The thing never gets set on.... The cushion covers were replaced 3 months ago to do the same thing. I have since bought a second set of furniture from them in Dec for my kids. I thought they stood behind their products... They DO NOT!! I regret the day I walked in there not once but twice.... NEVER AGAIN!!! This has cost me missing work twice and for nothing!!! I did file a complaint with the BBB and its amazing... They refunded my money picked up and delivered new furniture!

$ 1500 recliner failed within 13 days. Their answer was to wait over a month to complete repair. When chair was returned was charged a restocking fee. Submitted a formal complaint to Better Business Bureau. Check it out to see the timeline of my experience. Will never go to Homemakers again.
