Manager no longer onsite overnight! Recent burglary of ground floor apartment prompted residents to ask for night security guard on premises. They were told that they "should just buy renters' insurance." Shameful! No security cameras inside or out! Food is consistently terrible. Maintenance paltry. Prime example of corporate greed at its worst. The callous attitude of the Holiday Corporation has created unsafe and undesirable living conditions for those who are most vulnerable.

Holiday retirement is the best company I have ever worked for. Our leadership team at Madrona hills in Salem Oregon have always demonstrated respect and integrity to all of our team members and retirement residents. Holiday offers security and value to enrich the lives of seniors.Holiday sets the standards for quality of life, leading the community in a forward thinking process.
I am a Kamlu Resident.Because of repairs to our kitchen my leaky sink,my burned out bulbs to my room entrance has been put on hold.My wi-fi device is in our upper activity room which is now locked for the next 2 weeks. If it was disconnected I should have been told about it.Residents have been asked to be patient.I have been patient before with a resident that made a lot of noise yelling at people who did not exist in his room.Management just told him to quiet down, every day.so I contacted a consumer advocate and paid them to get after Kamlu.I may have to pester them again if they keep giving me the brush-off!
Golden Mesa in Las Cruces, NM: Money hungry and no integrity. I signed a contract at 7:30 p.m. on a Friday night--anxious to have a place for my mom when she was released from the hospital. Golden Mesa tried to run $5,200 on my mom's credit card (a $2,600 non-refundable fee they had never told me about plus the first month's rent of a 3-month commitment, after they had told me the leases were "month-to-month") however, the bank would only allow $2,600--so they took the $2,600 and I said I'd come back the next day with a check for the balance.
However, the next morning, my mom's doctor called and said my mom had been evaluated and that she could not "live alone"--my mom needed to go to a fully-skilled medical facility--not just an assisted living. I called Golden Mesa immediately (9:00 a.m.) and told them to "hold the contract." When told them the problem--my mom could not go to Golden Mesa by doctor's orders, they told me, in as many words, "Tough!" They already had $2,600 of my mom's money--and had no intention of giving it back. No reciprocity/activity had taken place in the few hours since I had signed the contract, however, they said the contract was binding and I could not cancel it.
Such action, if not illegal, is certainly immoral. I would never recommend Golden Mesa to anyone!
These reviews are downright frightening. My wife and I WERE considering one of these properties but now, no way. We visited a Holiday facility in the Honolulu area and I would say the food we had that day was inedible. I was thinking this was sort of a fluke but it looks to be a nationwide issue.
Attempted to call corporate headquarters with concerns about facility my parents are at. They have a phone tree obviously designed to screen you out. So here will be my review since I am unable to talk to a human being --- First of all, my parents were over- charged $2200 in June, their move in month. Very shady. General manager at the local facility in Gainesville, FL with questionable tactics, and not transparent. Does not return calls. This situation FINALLY got resolved ( we think, credit yet to appear!), by my sister. My biggest concern being here near them , is the *** lack of services tendered**, ALL declared being due to the Covid situation. My parents are continually locked down and can ONLY leave this facility ( prison really ), for medical appts. And they would stop those if they thought they could. There is no quality of life. Moreover-- THEY ARE CONTINUING TO BE BILLED FOR ALL THE SERVICES THEY DO NOT RECEIVE , for months now. Even before my parents arrived there. BUS. ACTIVITIES. USE OF POOL. Food delivered 3x/ day in styrofoam bc dining room never open. Open it up to a few diners then BAM! CLOSED AGAINN. Now, being told to ** stay in their apts* This for a facility that boasted No cases. Look I get that the old people are the most vulnerable, I am a nurse. But I would have expected that these people, once two months of this reduced services had gone by, would be CREDITED BACK what they are being charged, monthly, for all this stuff, ESP the bus, which has not run for MONTHS.! that was a major selling point of theirs to help explain their exorbitant rent! I mentioned this ONCE , at the local facility , and got shoulder- shrugging and " that's a conversation to have with corporate". Now heres corporate, with their screen- out phone tree. Posting this review and if no response in a reasonable time, advancing to other agencies , both local and the BBB. Which incidentally, has a lot of complaints registered for Holiday Corp. TLDR: DO NOT send your loved ones to a Holiday facility! It's a RIP off!!
Oakwood Hills Retirement in Eau Claire WI has unqualified managers currently. Numerous family members, staff and residents have complained about the managers and corporate has done nothing. Staff is treated harshly, residents don't feel safe and families complaints are ignored. I called the corporate office and as I told my complaint the representative said, "I have to go I have a lot of other calls to make". We have moved my mother out of the facility as our experience was very poor.
Our company did requested maintenance on unit 103 at their Bay Park Retirement facility in San Pablo California. This was arranged by the maintenance man, Orlando, and was authorized by and billed to the then manager Karen Maravilla. This was ordered on the basis of payment due upon completion. Well Karen is now gone, and the new manager Paige Karbeah has ignored all emails and phone calls to her. Kindly Ann who answers the phone is marvelous; I have to assume she is delivering the messages. Corporate has so far ignored emails and phone calls. I would no longer trust my employees dealing with them; certainly don't entrust your loved ones with them. Stonewalling is a perfected art form with them. 60 days and counting. *****UPDATE, 11/5/2020***** Just received the response from owner below. There was NO MIScommunication; there was NO and REFUSED communication. No fewer than 21 documented communications coming from our office happened (see photo below); I never received a call back, from the facility or from corporate. Only when I happened to catch someone picking up the phone. Incidentially when I did catch people at the facility and they tried to use a credit card to pay, BOTH OF THEIR CREDIT CARDS BOUNCED! And for only $805. Work arranged for payment upon completion (6/29/2020), as you would pay a plumber, was finally paid on 9/30/2020. There were more staff hours put in on this collection effort than it took the technician to do the work!! RUN, RUN AWAY FROM THEM!! p.s. Beware "Local Guides" reviews here... it is a "points earned" review system. Look for the unsolicited, simple Google reviews.
Holiday Retirement has a completely worthless customer service line. "Leave a message and we'll respond within 24 hrs"...ah, no. That's just to put you off. Trying to get paid? Forget it. 90 days, 120 days....or more, or never! Reputable companies have live personnel to ASSIST you, not 3rd party flunkies who are forced to make apologies for this worthless organization. Holiday Retirement wants to scam you with pretty pictures and a lousy, cheap corporate framework. Only the desperate, bottom-of-the barrel people will work for them longer than a few months. There are plenty of wonderful places to house your loved ones. Holiday Retirement is not one of them.
If you value your loved ones, please do not place them in Holiday Retirement facilities. Please read Glass Door or beneath the Veil first. Holiday is all about money and not the touch as it claims.
My one year at Holiday was a disaster except for the residents I met. Our food service was lousy for most of the year. The Regional Chef insulted me when I told him what I thought of the food, which was prepared by his SON who does not have a degree from a Culinary Arts School but a Bachelors degree in Economics which probably explains why he kept cutting back on the food. You better LOVE zucchini because you will get a lot of it. They have new managers which are an improvement but the old management was so bad that most of the major work to keep the building up was deferred. They say they offer all kinds of classes but they don't, they expect US to pay for it. No one listens and you are treated like an idiot. DON'T MOVE HERE!!!
Food is marginal, plumbing leaks all over the place, minimal management, weak activities I ve been here 19 months and the place has been slipping down hill each month I wouldn t recommend Holiday to anyone
Unfortunately the reviews are correct. No one listens to you the food is disgusting. Tenants are moving out in droves. My mother is a current resident. We are there everyday. It's horrible. Yesterday they ran out of food and gave the residents a burnt sandwich.
My mother lives in the Cambridge in Springfield Missouri. While she was in the hospital for over a month and a half staff went into her apartment and stole everything that belong to her including antiques from my grandmother and my great great great grandmother. They Even took all of her groceries out of her refrigerator. Her apartment was paid until 30 September. The door was locked I am her power of attorney I had the key and they had no permission to go in her apartment at all they had no reason to go in her apartment she was in the hospital. They will not return her belongings and they will not do anything but yell and talk over me and tell me that I m wrong and I m a liar. I found plates in the housekeepers office I found her cookie jar in the laundry room with soap powder in it that they were using because they stole and Knew she was not coming back. I have letters I am getting ready to send to the editors of three major newspapers in the area. I have appointments with two of the three customer advocacy reporters and making an appointment with the third to get this put on TV and be investigated. I am also going to fill out forms today to have this taken to court. The staff can stand in front of a judge and explain to the judge while they stole everything out of the apartment of an elderly woman while she was in the hospital. This included a small bag of coins she wanted me to wrap for her that had close to $50 in it. No one called me to ask me if I was moved out. No one called me to ask me if they could go in. No one should ve gone in her apartment it was hers until 30 September. I had not turn the keys in I had not emptied her apartment. I keep trying to reach people and all of the phone numbers go to answer machines with a response in 48 hours I will not wait 48 hours I want this taken care of immediately
My parent is in the Sugar Valley, Loveland, Colorado facility. There is a quarantine in the dining room due to the flu. My parent doesn't get breakfast until 10:00 am.....NO LUNCH, and we will see how dinner for. This has been going on for4 days now. FYI, MY parent is a diabetic a d his blood sugar is dangerously LOW. I have spoken with the assistant manager because the manager us no where to be you d. This situation is OUT OF CONTROL. I believe there should be an adjustment on the ultra high rent they are paying. My parent has no housekeeping, and while having the flu, low blood sugar and no food, he has to do his own housekeeping and laundering of his sheets and towels. FYI , MY parent fell and cracked his head during this dangerous situation.
I have been insulted and humiliated by managers at Rancho Village. My mother has been forced to pay $800.00 a month to allow me to stay with her in spite of having a note from her Dr stating she requires 24 hr care. W e will be moving once her "no contract" 90 day contract is finished. I sent a letter to the Corporate office on Sept 19th and to date have had no reply. We are checking with consumer protection regarding this place.
Absolutely horrific customer service at Las Palmas in Palm Coast. The general manager is flat out rude to residents and their families. Corporate has not responded to my email or phone call from over a week ago although the response says "within 24 hours".
Beware of Marijuana usage at Washington Commons - Holiday Retirement in Evans Ga - This facility has a high turnover of management and they all represent a poor quality of taking care of my loved one. And probably everyone else s. Too many problems to list but I must zero in on a few. It seems they allow Marijuana use, as once they are made aware of it, they do NOTHING. They just say we ll have the dogs come check the kitchen area and individual rooms. Then the next 20 messages we were told by Washington Commons we are waiting for the Holiday Corporate Office to follow up with further instructions. My Mother had to go to the ER from a bad reaction and the ER Doctor said she had Marijuana in her system and he believed it was laced because of her serious symptoms. Before we knew about the Marijuana, Washington Commons Management had made my Mother leave. Well once they found out about the Marijuana she was Welcome back. The Corporate office still has not contacted me. Alcohol is freely given to whatever residents want it by going in and out of each other s rooms. My Mother takes medicines that keeps her from having any alcohol. But the residents still give it to her. The Management does not care. They appear to not care about anyone that lives there. I ve left many many messages for the Corporate office over the past 2 years but no one ever calls me back.
They want you to refer new residents and they will pay you $750. But, just try to collect it. I lived at Heritage Village. Paperwork was sent to Corporate the end of May.
I gave it a one because it wouldn't allow me to rate them any lower. The corporate office is the most poorly run, unprofessional organization my wife and I have ever dealt with. They have refused to respond to us for two and half months to even hear our complaint despite numerous attempts to reach out to them. If your considering placing your loved one at one of there facilities and you care about them, reconsider! They don't care!!!
As with many other reviewers, I would not give any stars if that was an option. In the last 18 months there have been at least three meetings with the Regional Manager. Each meeting intro has been almost the exact same verbiage. Each time many of the same concerns have been voiced by the residents and each time have be acknowledged as if they are new. They are not new. Promises of new dining table and chairs as well as common area flooring have been ongoing. At the last meeting the residents were told that an email had "just been sent this morning" to request approval to order new tables and chairs. The residents were also told how expensive it was going to be (implying that it was some kind of a favor to get the old, worn, and tattered furniture replaced). The casters on the multiple chairs were falling off when the chairs were pulled in and out. Again, this was not a new issue and the fact that the maintenance people were fixing them "right now" implied that the residents concerns were a top priority. If that was the case the Regional Manager would not have had to come to the community and attempt to move a chair to get this safety issue addressed. The quality of the food is poor and "breakfast for dinner" is served once a week. They often run out of the main menu options and were out of hamburgers and hot dogs (which should always be available) as well. They ran out of brown sugar for oatmeal and one of the residents went out and bought brown sugar, going table to table to offer it to others. The common areas are dirty overall. The cold air vents are covered with dirt and dust. The chairs in the dining room are not clean and need to be wiped down/sanitized (the manager said this should happen every day, clearly it does not). The coffee bar is cleaned daily...by a resident. Services that are to be part of what the residents pay for are not always available. Weekly cleaning/lines/bedding changes are not done if scheduled on a day that the housekeeper takes a vacation day. You get 2 rolls of toilet paper on those days and get to use the same lines and towels until the following week. In the case of my family member, the sheets were not changed for 3 weeks. The housekeeper (who is very nice) is pulled to work in the dining room which does not allow time for her to do a full clean every week as promised. There has been no full time transportation driver in months. The person hired for this position was moved to the Activities Director position almost immediately and now splits time between the two jobs. Nice they can save the salary but the residents are NOT getting what THEY pay for. Another issue is that there is no longer a 24 hour person for emergencies. A resident fell in her apartment and pressed her safety button. The EMT's came but, it took them 20 minutes to find someone with a master key so they could get to the resident. This was at 8:00 AM. The last item that I will mention is that many new residents seem need more care than an Independent living community offers. It seems they are renting just to fill the apartments. Complaints seem to fall on deaf ears. "I'll write that down" or "I'll check into that" are the common responses yet nothing ever gets resolved and there is no follow-up. The residents are paying good money and should get what they are paying for. Additionally they should be treated with more respect. No residents, equals no jobs. Management is not managing the property, they are collecting a check. We are looking for a new community.
My mom was scheduled to move in. I had discussed concerns about her willingness to move (lot of control issues with a sibling) and told them law enforcement would be involved so I could get her out of a bad situation. Prior to signing I asked what would happen if my mom refused to move in. A text reply stated "you would owe for a month" With this assurance the lease was signed, Despite my efforts my mom did refuse so I notified the community that day. I still had hopes she could eventually move in if I found some legal remedies to let her away from my brother. I discussed this with them and was waiting on a reply to what mom would owe given the circumstances. I never asked them to hold the room. A deposit was never put down. I received an initial bill for about $3000 and again spoke with The Stratford and stated how I was told I would owe only 1 month even asking for some leniency on that since she never moved in. I was told my e-mail would be sent to someone else. I heard nothing then weeks later received a bill for over $5000.00 and 3 more months and listing a move out date, The total bill was over $9000. She never moved in. This was sent with no conversation in between. I have since e mailed a copy of the communication stating mom would owe one month. I have not told all details but my brother has stolen my mom's money and other things so this adds to an already stressful situation. I took them at their word. The situation had been thoroughly explained to them. This is my mom's debt who is currently in a camper due to my brother. I expected compassion, communication and them to stand by what they said. I had even hoped for owing less given some empathy and the situation. SO hurt and discouraged by all this, This is already a difficult decision and the way we were treated during the visit did not continue after we left.
The reviews are consistent I see the same at my moms facility. The corporate office makes the menu, same thing day after day food being wasted. No one eats the meals, needs more selection even a chef salad, tuna salad or fruit salad. The dinner alternative is a hot dog. Most of the folks at my moms place suffer from sodium intake and diabetic. The staff is very friendly, the residents are friendly except the food. Its not improving at all.
Does anyone know how to get in touch with Residential Relations at the corp office? I have tried multi times and numbers and keep getting the same recording no matter which option I choose.
Worst management since high school . Clicks in "upper management" . Sales manager has filled the place with people who need assisted living just so she could say she filled every room. If you think your parent is disposable, then this is the place for them. They have broken so many Montana laws, I'm surprised no accountability . Building is wire tapped . With no knowledge to a person .Highly illegal in my state . I have proof and back up . They know very little about their residents .Background check on person paying, not the one living there. Servers are blamed for everything and treated very poorly and the pay is very minimal .Housekeepers have to serve breakfast and lunch. I had a nice title but was paid for a lower position . I was talked to as though I were stupid. Highly underestimated . Could do any job thrown my way. I love the residents and my worker bees but could not stay and watch the implosion the management has brought on themselves by ignorance and greed . I called and went directly to an answering machine. Maybe an audit is in order.
Three weeks ago I left my name, phone number, email address for the manager to contact me regarding my mother at the facility in Menomonee Falls, WI. I have yet to hear from him. I asked for the corporate phone number. No one there could find it. Really??? They gave me the regional manager phone number which was disconnected. I can't get a hold of ANYONE in management to discuss the many concerns I have about this place. The food is horrendous. The rent increases over 6% a year in each of the past 2 years, when we were told it would be in the 3-5% range. The conditions and service have steadily deceased and certainly not worth this large rent increase. Find another place.
I should have read the poor reviews before moving in, unfortunately they are all correct, now my packages are missing after being received by the front desk, four and counting, three from Amazon, today's from the USPS, all in the few short weeks I have lived here. When all the complaints are the same from all the different homes it's a corporate policy, in this case it is indifference. Today US mail theft, maybe this will generate a reaction? One star because I have too.
I got involved because I was told there's over three hundred of these places and I could go to any one of them for a week totally not true they're always full. I wouldn't recommend anyone staying at these places. prices to stay at 1 is high. The food is not very good. I think the whole thing was a big scam
I am a former Sous Chef for the community in Yuma, AZ. After nearly 10 years of employment, the lies from management and corporate became too much to handle, so I resigned. I was led to believe I would be promoted, expected to do the job without promotion or payment compensation, worked for weeks at a time without days off, worked extended hours, then found out that they hired an executive chef behind my back without any intentions of informing me so that they could continue to use me. I resigned after training who I thought would be my sous chef and now the company is refusing to pay out my over 200 vacation hours as per their company policy. They really do have no concern for employees at any level and I'm watching friends still employed by them go through the same experiences. I have since filed an EEOC inquiry on the grounds of retaliation. Wish there was a 0 star option!
There are always good and bad with any of these type facilities. The staff in the Lubbock facility were great. Unfortunately it appears the corporate management runs on too thin a margin. Staff turnover is apparent and often staff spoke openly of how dissatisfied they were working there and looking to leave. That did not instill confidence and spoke to poor management. It took a great deal of time to serve the meals. The food was good. No one there at night. Mom did not feel safe. We moved her because she needed assistive living care. This facility should be both Assistive Living and Independent Living. I did not like the idea that housekeeping staff and admin staff were pulled to serve meals. The facility needs new flooring and often it was not clean in some public areas. It appears to be run down. Again, I can recommend the staff (very friendly and caring) but I cannot recommend their business practices. I won't use this business again. My mom felt the costs outweighed what was offered and delivered however they met the contract obligations. Had she not needed more assistance with meds and bath and other health issues we would have moved her to another facility in the future.
THE HURRICAINE IRMA DIDNT SPOIL THE ATTITUDES OF THE GREAT TEAM AT AZALEA PARK. BRENDA TOOK ALL THINGS IN STRIDE. SHE WAS A ROCK - KUDOES TO HER. SANDY WENT BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY. TANG HANDLED ALL TRIALS WITH CALM ABOMB. TOMMY RAN THE DINING ROOM WITH SKILL AND LEADERHSIP., AND JESSIE WAS ALWAYS IN EYE SHOT. WHAT A TEAM -- I DON'T EVEN LIVE THERE -- I CAME IN ON A BUSS FROM REGENCY PARK. CALL ME FOR DETAILS.
My mother lives in the Menomonee Falls WI location. I get calls from her on an almost daily basis w/ complaints regarding everything. The food, which I have seen, is horrible, half the time it is inedible. IT is also not healthy, too many spicy, acidic or salty sauces. A lot of rice and pasta, basically the cheapest food they can find. No fresh vegetables. They stopped providing snacks, daily dessert turned into Jello or pudding. The cleaning has essentially stopped and not due to Covid. Corporate is inaccessible, they apparently don't want to be responsible for these poorly run communities. The individual locations are run very poorly, a lot of staff turnover. Rude employees. Activities at the locations were either stopped or limited due to Covid. Received a message from Corporate that they were going to restart activities as they realized that residents needed socialization and they were paying for this service. Now a week later the activity director yelled at all the residents and told them that if they want activities they will have to run them themselves. The treatment of the residents is terrible and the cost for getting nothing you pay for is ridiculous. If they can't provide the services that are being paid for they should reduce the rates.
Our mother was living at Bear Canyon Independent Living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions the facility was on a lockdown. It became increasingly difficult for her to remain isolated so we moved her to our house for what we thought would only be a couple of days. She left her apartment on June 2nd and then subsequently decided to move out completely. She filled out the form to vacate her apartment by July 31st. That was a two month notice. When July 1st was nearing we emailed the Corporate office twice and called four times because we wanted to see if in fact the 30 intent to vacate was still going to be enforced, we have still not had any response!! Her rent was going to be increased on July 1st, that would be her anniversary date of being there, and as early as May we were trying to find out exactly what her monthly increase would be, no one could answer any of our questions with any degree of certainty. Now, today is July 10th and she was charged an increase of 5 1/2% which no one informed her or the family about. In past years her increase was only 1 1/2%. There has been a constant change over of management and promises of cleaning her apartment, providing nutritious meals, etc., as outlined in her lease agreement were not upheld. The grounds have not been maintained and they run on a very sparse staff. Stay away and find some other place for your loved one.
I will be looking for a new place for my parents. This has been the most awful experience! They just moved in to Kipling Meadows, but things are in such disarray, and they can barely get food. It is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. They pay a premium for rent, and they can't get food because they are firing all of the staff and chefs. Apparently they have been told by corporate to cut back on food items. To treat the elderly this way is absolutely pathetic. I am thinking about going to the local news channels to do a story on the way "corporate" is increasing rent, and decreasing activities and food. What a greedy bunch they are!! There are so many options in the surrounding areas for independent/assisted living with rave reviews about the food. I have visited my parents on several occassions, and the food is absolutely gross and awful. The other day, they were told they couldn't have ketchup because they were out. The wait staff are all leaving, and for some reason they can't keep a chef. Wonder why? Chef's usually take pride in cooking, but the food is less than mediocre!! Totally ridiculous that we have to worry about our parents being able to eat a decent meal for the amount they pay monthly. They have plenty of money! We will move them as soon as the 90 day requirement has been met. Shame on a company that treats staff and seniors this way!!!
My family member has lived at a midwest Holiday Senior Living apartment complex for almost a year. Liveable facility, worn around the edges nothing special, BUT From out of state, we communicate with our family member several times a week and visit regularly. Increasingly the conversations are centered around the dining options or food quality. Comments rotate through menu items running out, over cooked gray vegetables, food temperature inapropriate, lack of choices for simple items ie: dinner salads or baked potato, lacking focus on fresh food & vegetables; heavy basis on grains, disproportnant offering high calorie fried food, highly processed items & availability of choice is affected by where residents are sitting in the dinning room. For example, this past Saturday evening, braised beef & peas ran out. The wait person returned to take a second order, vegetables not an option - ran out. My family member choose fish & only accompaniment available was cous cous. The fish was served dry, cool to the touch & overcooked. My family member considered it inedible & returned to the apartment alone & had a TV dinner. A baked Idaho or sweet potato would be a great back up option but have to be ordered in advance, even without knowing the status of menu items running out.
My family member, on a regular basis, requests a dinner salad or cup of yogurt in lieu of ice cream or cake and gets turned down fequently. One would think the facility could learn residents likes. I sincerely hope the newer chef's town meetings with residents help to improve the food service curve. My Family member & resident friends are not complainers & seem tired of looking for improvements from the kitchen or bringing up flaws in the dinning room. On another note could you get the resident some tarter sauce for her fish, apparantly she has been requesting tarter sauce, to her avail, long before our family member arrived. Godspeed
This is simple the company is about making money they stretch ever worker to there limits where 1 person does the job of 3 .dish washer does serving ,busing ,prep and setting up so dishes are getting kinda clean but the rest of the kitchen is a disaster. But it's about racking in money that's y the employee turn over is insane
My father has lived here for about 6 years. This use to be a wonderful place and environment. Over the last 2 years there has been a significant change for the worst. The food is horrible, it is served cold and the wait staff is extremely rude. The other day while there visiting with my husband, one of their wait staff told a resident to go to their room and shower because they smelled. The health care company Kelley Yoder (the general manager) referred us to Safe hand warm hearts was very unprofessional. Per Kelley she personally recommends them and they are a great company. The person we met with was suppose to be the manager of the company her name was Jennifer, she was wearing flip flops and jeans. At first she seemed knowledge but as the conversation carried on my faith in her dissipated. She knows nothing about wounds, medications, or even about when to take blood pressures. She actually thought an otho bp could be taken standing up then sitting down. The manager of the building Kelley is horrible to deal with, I have went to her multiple times about various issues and the first few times she said she would fix them though nothing ever got fixed. After the first few times Kelley became hostile, throwing her hands in the air, started making excuses, and was very rude. I have spoke to the district manager who is just as bad and defends her staffs actions. Then again the corporate office does not respond to emails or voice mails. I would highly recommend not wasting your time here. We will be looking for placement for my father else where.
this place is worse than a sleezy used car lot- they swindle you by promising illegal veterans benefit- READ ABOUT IT IN THE OREGONIAN-THEY JUST SETTLED FOR CLOSE TO 3/4 OF A MILLION DOLLARS- WORST PLACE WE VISITED- GREASY SALESMAN!!!
If I could give Holiday zero stars I would!!! Their food is horrible! They don't consider the people who are eating it. We at my Holiday are simple, down home folks. We like simple down home cooking not elaborate dishes! We also get tired of fish and chicken all the time. They just take out yesterday's leftovers throw a different sauce on it and rename it. They don't stay current with their residents needs. They are CHEAP when it comes to repairing things. For the money we pay I would expect far better from Holiday staff and all that is "here" (not here) for us! Basically we have no activities around here. When you ask a question of the staff they either say "I will check into it and get back to you" or they smile and say, "I'm busy right now can you come ask me again later" I could go on....don't even consider Holiday. I talked to a former manager who is somewhere else now. Even be said,"Don't move to a Holiday...it's getting worse not better". There is NO staff on the premises from 7:30 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. No security etc..... Think twice about throwing your money down the drain!!
When I moved here I expected to be able to live a healthy life style. But now I am very concerened that the dietary needs of this community are not being met since the changes due to the Covid 19 pandemic. I am diabetic and eat mostly vegaterian. We are not getting sufficent daily portions of fresh fruit, vegatebles and plant based protiens. All neccessities for populations of our age group.
The air conditioning in the third floor dining room has been broken for over a month it leaks water all over the dining room floor making very unsafe to walk on Instead of cleaning it up they put a sign out that says caution slippery floor the main elevator in the building has been broken for over a month and they re making no attempt at fixing any of the stuff The first floor flooded during hurricane Irma they ve ripped up all the carpet downstairs and cut off drywall but there s nobody been working there for over two weeks there just letting it sit there with molding you can t even hardly go down the first floor without getting bad headaches and sneezing coughing from all the molding does this just nasty in there nobody there working doing anything they started and then they stopped and nobody knows anything about what s going on there is virtually no management no leadership in this place The food here is terrible they always run out of food many of the residents like Cheerios for breakfast I ve been out of Cheerios for two weeks now you warily ever get meat for breakfast once a month they give me bacon movie once every month or two they ll give you some sausage that s about it no protein in the morning I don t know how they expect people to stay healthy hear all of the meat that they do give you your lunch meat and hamburger patties chicken breast that sort of thing is all process food not real meat
staff cut in Assisted Living and residents go begging looking for help to go to the bathroom. Emergency call system often broken Meals are boring, over cooked, and the cheapest foods to be found. Great, caring staff but a revolving door in AL and IL director positions indicating corporate management is the worst. Look elsewhere! Renaissance, Austin, Tx
I was trying not to say anything since I was still waiting on resident relations to call me back, but since you asked. Your manager Kelley Yoder is a liar. She does not care about the resident all she cares about is looking for good for your corporate office. Genesee gardens in flint use to be full and now there is 40 or more empty apartments. The food is below par, the new company she brought in safe hands warm hearts is horrible. Everything she complained about with our old health care the new health does and is worse. Kelley Yoder promised excellent care and yet they have been extremely neglectful. Also Kelley Yoder had us switch saying Absolute would not be in the building anymore yet they are still there. We loved absolute and your manager manipulated us to change. This corporation must be desperate if she s the best manager you have. Also please don t tell me to call her district manager Samantha because she is just as horrible and your resident relations doesn t return phone calls. I m currently seeking legal advice in regards to everything I have documented.
This is a Senior independent living facility. It's a very nice place, beautiful inside and the staff is very professional and nice. They're very helpful and the tenants are so cool.
My grandmother is located at the one in Flint, MI. We are in the process of moving her. We are posting every where we can about the management that has taken over. Her name is Kelley Yoder. She files false APS reports. She lies. She is a horrible person. She will say anything to get your loved one moved in and then treat them horribly. She is against people with disabilities and she has stated it s not her job to care. She is breaking many laws and is not educated on what she is doing. Do not bother contacting the new regional manger she has no clue what is going on and believes whatever she s told by her manager. I know for a fact she has had multiple complaints about this manager and has done nothing. We are reaching out to the news and working getting the paper to write a story. I think after reading the comments about the issues Holiday has it maybe time for a class action lawsuit! I know I can get one in Flint, MI going. Abuse of the elderly, misleading information to sign a lease, violation of the disability act, I can go on and on. I know I ve spoke to at least 15 other families and they are all on board!!
friend is in marion woods, ocala..visited her several times, she has complained about the inconsistency of food there, i went for lunch with her yesterday (sat. 1/14/18): we sat at the last table to be served, resident's choice was liver and onions, saw plates piled high to tables closer to front, when we all ordered, they were out..i ordered spaghetti/redsauce, took one bite, had been so over cooked it was mushy, my friend ordered orzo, she couldn't eat that either, over cooked to mushy..my plate had water on it, so i know when the pasta is done, they keep it in the water and it continues to cook, not caring or thinking that it takes nearly 1/2 hour to get food to the last table..what chef doesn't realize that? my friend says sometimes the chicken is too tough to chew, and everyone sends back the chocolate cake, yet they continue to serve it...my friend complained about the lack of liver and onions and was fed such a line of bs was all i could do to listen...don't excuse, just apologize and promise to do better..i feel sorry for those folks who are at the mercy of inconsistency in their meals...who sometimes leave still hungry...if you know better, then do better
We moved my uncle in around beginning of 2017,the maintenance guy on staff has to big a work load for 1 person, so they hired me on for part-time, then week later told me my job was only temporarily part-time, would of stayed where i was at if was case so they laid me off 11/29/17, i get text in 2018 from maintenance guy, he is needing help because he's 6 months behind, wish some on from corporate would get a hold of me,so i could see if they do really care about their residents, if not then will be moving my uncle out of there real soon,a lot of residents moved out after i got laid off.
Run, don t walk away from a Holiday Facility. My Mom has lived at their Boise facility for four years. She is celiac and requires a gluten-free diet. This facility refuses to accommodate her dietary needs and her health has become progressively worsens as a result . Other residents are also alarmed at the quality and variety of food served on the regular menu. Beef of any kind is virtually non-existent, mostly chicken and sometimes pork. Last week instead of soup, they were served clear broth as their dinner entree! Facility management refuses to take action, likely because corporate controls the menu and will not let them prepare meals that my Mom can eat.
I ll be contacting local media so they can expose what a terrible facility this is!
