Holiday Inn Guildford Review

It's a Holiday Inn, generic but reliable. Rooms are a little tired and run down, but clean.

Day one of a 3 day stay and 1 thing I will say the staff are a credit to the establishment

Comfortable bed, good breakfast, friendly staff. The building itself is a bit antediluvian. Dinner menu isn't a great value, but the bar is comfortable and reasonably priced.

Attended training course in conference centre. Very good facilities and lunch in the restaurant

Nice room, but wait a long time for the water to run hot. There is a large supermarket near the hotel, but far from the city center.

Absolutely delightful hotel on the outskirts of Guildford, convenient for the university, hospital and sports park. Not much to look at from the outside but charming inside and polite, helpful staff.

Nice place to go for drinks and food for a business meeting

As a spire elite member of ihg I have been fortunate enough to be upgraded to an executive room on all but one occasion I have stayed here. I can say that the executive rooms are well worthwhile booking over the standard rooms as they come with a lot more space, bigger lighter Windows, king size rather than double beds and in some a huge amount more room (I have had several occasions where I have been stunned at the amount of space in the exec rooms! . The beds are extremely comfortable. Adjoining rooms are available if you are travelling with someone which can be very convenient. Staff are professional and courteous despite it being a very busy hotel. Location is easily accessible with lots of parking. Due to the opening hours I have yet to have time to visit the leisure facilities so can't comment on those. When I have eaten at the hotel the food is very good (especially by hotel standards!!) All in all a good choice for a comfortable functional hotel.

Friendly staff. Plenty of parking covered by cameras. The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage. The room was clean. Only down side, considering the current situatuation there were used bed sheets and a cot left in all down the corridor.

nice hotel, fine room (however not every room has a fridge), good swimming pool & sauna. Good complimentary english breakfast & quite expensive restaurant for a dinner.

Only went to the conference suite but it was fine. The toilets were clean and the tea/coffee facilities were ample. Presentation facilities were good and had no technical difficulties like you get with some places. Parking system is pretty good but finding a space took a little while. Nice and close to the A3 for easy access. Only spoke to one member of staff but she was very pleasant and helpful. Could maybe have had another staff member in the front desk as quite a queue had formed.

Surprisingly nice place to stay, has a pool and gym, don't know how good they actually are though didn't use them! Had a nice big double room and everything seemed in order, nothing broken etc, just not luxury.

It's a nice cozy place. The room was clean, staff was very help. Great choice for business travellers.

Got stung with a parking charge which I didn't see the sign for in the rain at night. Offputting!

Had a meeting here. Good services, clean and quiet. Easy to get to. Great drinks and snacks.

Meeting rooms have excellent facilities. The catering, one of the best.

Stayed here as I was attending a Convention 10-20mins away (dependant on traffic) at G-Live. Chose this hotel because it was more cost effective, than the Mandolay across the road from G-Live. However for such a reasonable price we received so much for our money. Definitely book the meal package. You will receive a 3 course meal from a set menu, which will not disappoint and will have your belly full! The staff are so accommodating. At the buffet breakfast we requested veggie sausages, which the chef prepared for us, each of the 3 mornings we were there. Free spa, which my room mate used. Free parking. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Popped in to see friends who stayed at the Mandolay rooms were small, small shower room. Friends did not ear there, but purchased food from the high road. Many of them requested the details for Holiday Inn for next year's Convention!

Excellent room and was most relaxed. My brother got married and the package that they offer is amazing. Staff were professional but approachable at all time. Excellent breakfast selection too. X

Good hotel....only staff needs training and support....they are mostly new to the industry.

The staff were very friendly and willing to help with whatever is needed.

Visited for a course - was a perfectly suitable and convenient venue, though it sounds like the parking enforcement is somewhat draconian...

I only came here to drop something off to someone and ended up with a parking fine. Note to self not to return

I visited Holiday Inn, Guildford as a makeup artist for a wedding that was being held here, the staff were very helpful and attentive to the bridal party whilst I was there. I attended the recent wedding fair hosted by Holiday Inn, Guildford and felt very welcomed by them - I'm looking forward to returning again soon.

A decent place. Been there for a training / conference session. Nothing special, but it's clean and organised. Staff is friendly and helpful. Catering is fine, but it can get better.
Parking lot is ok. Good bus connections to Guilford train station.

i went for lunch there,and waitress didnot want to serve me,i beckoned her,but ignored me again,i sat there for 30 min no one comes to me,walked n asked for supervisor,,,n asked me "what do you want? thats being rude,seriously,,,by then i was annoyed n couldnt hold it any more,i walked away,,,in short...racist!

Great venue for a seminar. The staff were very frirndlt and professional. The setting was welm laid out and clean. Would definitely recomend them.

Staff where helpful and friendly stayed 2 nights while visiting chessington world of adventure will definitely visit again only thing was smoking area was very far from my room other than that excellent place to stay

Stayed for work, all as expected. Large room with a comfortable bed, clean. Nice pool and steam room. The dinner buffet had a good range of food and tasty. Air conditioning in bathroom was a bit noisy but otherwise fine.

The stay was ok, but the wifi was really slow and the rooms are a bit old with not so much light. It is good for a night during a business trip but nothing more. It is quite expensive for a hotel outside of guildford which basically nothing to do there.

Woeful stay. Booked a room only to be told at reception on arrival that no double suites were available. No apology offered by receptionist and offered a derisory single room instead.
Escalated and manager arrived to say they d make up one of the used rooms, which took a further 45 minutes.
Bearing in mind I was only booking the hotel for a few hours sleep between hospital visits I was only let in room shortly before 945pm.

We have met here for a family gathering annually for 20 years. We enjoy a lovey lunch and use of the foyer area where 3 generations catch up. The lunch today was exceptionally good - everyone commented on tasty the food was.

The rooms are basic and slightly dated but the service was great. I liked my bed and the linens, the towels were very good quality, there was a good selection of TV channels. We attended a wedding ceremony, the food was good and well presented.

I'm rating the conference facilities. It's a really pleasant atmosphere. The staff is attentive and helpful. There is usually snacks and coffee available all day. The buffet lunch is always great, a selection of salads, sandwiches, soup, a hot option and puddings.

Very poor Internet speeds, air-conditioning set to heat only. Could only use the bedside light with the main lights on

Couldn't do any more for us. Children are treated like royalty! Nice rooms. Lovely evening meal. 10/10 will be using again!

Attended multiple conferences at this venue. Always well looked after with staff seemingly on hand to rectify any technical issues immediately. Good catering too.
