It's hard to explain in five years ago I used them I just needed paperwork verified

Contacted this firm in 2013 for a disability claim.
They seemed to show interest, but I could not get any physical meeting with anyone from their supposedly 'local' offices. They advertised in the Duluth-Superior phonebook, had full page ad on back of phonebook so was hard to miss. Months into my case, after they collected information, I let them know I took ownership of a 2nd parcel of land. They seemed angry with me, that I could no longer go after SSI but only SSDI, which was fine by me, but guess the compensation was not enough for them as their next step was to drop me as a client, sent a paralegal to my court case and just let it all fall apart. It was my only meeting with them, lasted 5 minutes, and did not seem interested in my case.
Took me until 2018 to find a lawyer who would meet with me, jump through all the hoops and get me my SSDI.
At the time of this company's dropping me, my SSDI would have been nearly $200 higher per month, so other than forcing me to work 6 more years disabled trying to make ends meet, they cost me 10's of thousands over my remaining lifetime...
I do not recommend them for you needs, and their claims of having local offices are just plain false.

Lack of communication. Was then blindsided at my hearing by my representative (I think that she may have been a paralegal). After 3years I would up with (sssi). Without any advice or consultation. Watch out for these guys. They could care less. Now I can't afford a lawyer to get on disability. What a screw job. A racket. A nightmare I hope you avoid! Go somewhere else!

We have left messages and are told time and time again that we are in queue to be called back and we have never received a call back unless we have literally yelled at wich point when someone does return a call we are treated with no respect. At the times we needed a call and had to yell to get a call back its always an extreme issue. This last time was because we were purchasing a home and sent them the purchase agreement to be signed off. All we need is to know how long it takes as we have a 45 day closing. They are great at doing chapter 13 however if you're looking for communication with your attorney this is most definitely not the place to go. The response time is non existent until you are willing to be extremely confrontational.

They are in it for the money and if there is any complications you will pay extra it off pocket.

We used Hoglund since 2015. I previously worked with them. Horrible coordination of services. Terrible communication. Contact with everyone but your own lawyer. We were offered a offer from the judge they never called to explain it to us. We submitted the offer back we ultimately lost our case as they based his case on a undocumented evidence. Instead of reviewing his case they submitted it without review on a unsubstantiated issue. We los . They didn't bother to c as ll us to talk to my son. He is suicidal. No one bothered to communicate on many levels. Pass the buck is their mode of operation. Judge admonished our lawyer as they didnt even have paperwork in for him.
They work from one coast to the other. Your just a number. No personal contact.

I have been working with Hoglund Law on my ssdi case for over 18 months. Unfortunaly, I do not recommend this Business. They do not respond promptly via phone. And when this case ends, you will never get a phone call. Only a letter. This is very poor communication. They do not care about the poor and disabled. This company should be reported to the Minnesota Bar Association.

They tell you you got a good case, never met anyone in person until day of hearing. They appealed the denial without even talking to me. Numerous facts were incorrectly reported in the transcript. Then, when you need a lawyer, they drop you.

Had a great lawyer for my hearing. But the communication between me and my worker havent been the greatest. She takes forever to get back to me. But so far I've had great service especially with the lawyer I had I give him 100 percent.

They took my paperwork, got busy and helped me , and were consistent. More than I can say about other firms.

You may save a couple of dollars going with Hougland but you will also get what you pay for. I started my process with them in March and it is literally Mid September and I have still gotten nowhere. I paid almost a couple thousand dollars and I can barely get them to respond to my emails. They do not keep in touch to let you know what s going on with your case. If they need more information from you they don t even contact you and tell you that. They wait till you contact them and then say oh by the way we need XYZ paperwork . I have called and called and no one will call me back. At this point I m not sure if my case will be filed or if I m just out $1700 ... My advice would be to spend a couple hundred more and go with a more responsible law office.

I guess my experience with them may not be complete, but from what I have experienced so far I am frustrated. I went through them to apply for social security disability. I worked with Kong (not sure that is spelled right). He was very understanding and helped me through paperwork. Then, the denial came 3 months later, something he told me to expect. I called him. He said he would send my case to the appeals department and they would call me the next day or two. About 5 days later, I called them (yesterday) to see when the appeals was planning on calling. The person said they had tried to call me that morning--no message was left. I seldom answer a number I don't recognize and figure if it is important they will leave a message. The call representative said she would pass my message on to "her" (I never got a name) It is 24 hours later and no call. It is very frustrating because there is a date on the letter and appeals have to be done within the time frame allowed. I would have given Kong a 5 star rating...but overall, it is a 3. If there was a 2 1/2 I would have done that. I kind of wish I had gone to another lawyer.

UPDATE: I have a new case manager now. She seems to be conscientious regarding my case. I seldom reach her on the first call, but she usually returns my call by the next day or day after.

One of the worst experiences I ve had. I would never recommend this firm to anyone. I ve had over 3 attorneys, got notice one left then would get notice who the new one was. Never would get responses from the new attorney and so on. It s been over a year since I ve filed and still get harassed by creditors and this firm refuses to handle it in a manor that other firms would. I call and leave messages and yet no one responds.
Ha, does anyone know how to sue a lawyer for services that have not been met yet I m still paying for said services!?

I cant say enough, this law agency saved my life when I needed it. They fought for 2 years and won. I was denied twice and they didn't stop. Constant communication they know there stuff i highly recamend!! Again cant say enough use this law firm!!! Any questions just ask.

I have been trying to reach my attorney for over a month now and everyday I speak with someone and they transfer me to a voicemail and I never hear back . They will attempt to call 2 or 3 days later occasionally and thats usually at a time when I'm either sleeping or at work and the cycle continues . The communication was great up untill I payed my fees and then its been horrible since. And no person there seems to care that I'm a paying client and can't get my attorney on the phone litterally over a month twice a week I contact them and never once has my attorney been able to speak to me .. would not recommend to anyone that wants fair treatment
