Hogfish Bar & Grill Review

We thought we'd venture out from the standard eatery in Key West and headed over to the Hog Fish for an early dinner after someone recommended it. I guess you can't get any fresher fish than when your restaurant is right on the water. I had the Hogfish and chips and my husband ordered the mixed grill. My fish was probably the best I've ever eaten. Light flaky white fish and battered to perfection. The tartar was also tasty. My fries weren't hot so I skipped them. My husband said the lobster, shrimp scallops, calamari and fish in his dish was really good too. It's a bit off the beaten path and you'll wonder where the heck you're going because the area is a little depressed in the way, but keep going and eat here while you're in Key West. You'll be glad you did. We'll be back before you leave the island.

So good!! Trip through the neighborhood felt a bit sketchy. Atmosphere was comfortable and friendly. Food was incredible! Hogfish is way better than it sounds. Light, white fish with perfect amount of flavor. Staff was great and following safety precautions. Loved it and will be back!

Good food. Good service. Is not air-conditioned. Hard to find. Rough neighborhood. Worth the trip. Was probably a "locals only" 10 years ago. Hogfish filet and scallops excellent.

We were seated on very well maintained picnic tables for this lunch visit with overhead cover and an open water view side and were very comfortable with very nice outside air flow.
My cheeseburger and rise were very good, not great. My wife's cheesesteak was also very good.

Can get very crowded which is normal for popular eateries in the Florida Keys.
This place has become one of our go to eateries in the Keys.

Out of the way hideaway on Stock Island. Worth the effort. Locals say it is not so much a hidden gem anymore, definitely a heavy mix of tourists with the regulars. Fish tacos are killer as is the Hogfish sandwich. Casual and cool.

Everything was delicious. The lobster bisque was phenomenal. Hog fish tacos were good and had some heat to it. The beans served with them were delicious. This place will be on my list of places to visit when in the Keys

We wanted some fresh seafood away from the typical Duval Street area restaurants. Hogfish didn't disappoint. Highly recommend the Hogfish sandwich, Family of five, we tried the Hogfish sandwich fried and one grilled...both were great. Also tried the soft crab sandwich and the large hamburger. We sat outside, nice comfortable weather, not too loud. Our waitress was really nice.

Get the Tuna Nachos! Best I've ever had! If you are looking for a place that is relaxed, come as you are... this it! Nothing fancy, but good food. This is also Kid Friendly and our Server was amazing. Told our kids they could feed the fish with whatever protein they had left on their plate. Made their visit worthwhile.

Let me start by saying the service was great, walked right in and got a table for six at dinner. Drinks are okay, not great. Food was good but not great. Won't be disappointed, probably will not be blown way with food.

Went here on recommendation of a friend. He said to get the Hogfish sandwich. Getting there was a little difficult. Almost a one way street with all the vehicles along side of road. Restaurant was not very crowded in relationship to parked vehicles. We were seated quickly. Drink orders were taken by one server then another came to take food order. One drink was sold out. Had to settle for a different brand. Food came out quickly. Not what I was expecting. Large bun but small fish portion. Not much more than Micky D's fish sandwich. Had plenty of fries with order. Okay dining experience.
