Hockley Valley Ski Resort Review

Went here twice as a beginner and did not experience friendly and welcoming staff. I feel like the slopes were not meant for beginners and should not be advertised as such. Staff on the beginner slopes were also often rude when it came to providing my party and I with assistance on and off the slope (especially with the process of renting skis) and often judged us for our lack of skill and knowledge despite them being there to literally teach us how to ski. Left very discouraged.

I skied there yesterday with my girlfriend. Parking spots are so far away from the hills so there is a shuttle tractor, bunch of people jump in the tractor trailer and are dropped off to the ski resort from the parking spots, it was weird and unexpected. We are beginner/intermediate skiers, wanted to start with the beginner hills to see the conditions of the snow. Their beginner hills are too steep for beginners and addition to that they are still using a rope with handle system to climb the hills which is very outdated system compared to the carpet. If you haven't used this sort of system before you most likely fall at some point. And when you do that do not expect a friendly, professional reaction from the employees there, instead they question you with a judgemental manner. My girlfriend and I were literally asked if we knew what we were doing and ever skied before. No, I did not know what I was doing as it was my first time using your outdated system with no help. That was so discouraging and unprofessional approach. It is a beginner hill, and you are expecting us to be magically perfect on our every step. You can have a perfect resort, flawless facilities (in fact you don't ) but if you don't have professional teams/employees you deserve nothing but a zero. It was my first and last time to visit Hockley Valley.

Loved the ambiance! The staff very professional and I certainly appreciated the fact that they had everything in place to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
I think the menu needs a few more choices however the ones currently offered, that I tried, were delicious. I will be visiting again and have already started recommending my friends to do the same

Loved my visit and spa day. However this resort is quite in need of updating and refreshing things up. The services are reasonably priced and they have registered and non for those who may be covered by an insurance plan for a portion of their treatments. The spa does not enforce keeping it quiet so if that bothers you this is not the place to visit.

The restaurant was excellent and the food was different but tasty. Would go back for another meal!!

Lost a star for the noisiness of the spa area and the need to update the entire facility.

We visited the restaurant. It s really nice inside minus some mosquitoes! The decor is nice. The service is alright. The food is definitely not worth the price. It lacks a lot of taste and flavour, especially the sea bass! I was shocked! Usually fine dining places are so delicious! The presentation of the food is nice.

The snow globe dining experience was good but quite expensive, even considering the 5 courses and wine pairings. It would have felt more authentic if the globe was closer to the trees and not the first one on the patio. The server was pleasant and efficient.

My husband purchased the take out valentine meal special and picked it up this afternoon. It was exceptional, delicious soup, bread was to die for, loved the beet and balsamic dip. The steak was done to perfection and I loved the mashed potatoes and I don't even like mashed potatoes! Dessert was amazing, so rich with chocolate mouse? Brownie? With a raspberry infusion. Having said all this the flavors and portions were so generous that we shared with 2 of our grown children We do not drink so opted out of the wine so I can not comment on the beverage. Excellent service, taste and value. We will be doing this again. Way to go Hockley!

We ordered the take out Surf and Turf and it was great. Cabin is one of my favourites and I'll happily support the take out venture.

Greatest place ever!!! I've been to several events there and none of them disappointed. Each was better then the next. The food is amazing, the staff is incredible, and spa and the hotel rooms are awesome. If you're a golfer this place has one of the best courses in Ontario. What's there not to love. This place will accommodate one person and or a thousand. It's a piece of heaven amongst the trees

Love this place been visiting since I was a kid. Just remember to book ahead to ensure your spot. They have warm food options despite the lockdown. Wishing Hockley Valley wealth and strength over this short season and Happy Shredding Everyone!
