Pick another school for ultrasound. This school is terrible! You will regret it. They say anything to get you in. And even try to give you a good speech during award assemblies but in the classroom it's a different story. They are not about helping their students succeed but about getting your student loan check

The ultrasound program was a lot of fun! The instructors i had were amazing and really cared about their students. Brian Elliott and Ms. Mariam. Brian was amazing at teaching us about the machine and how it works and different techniques to help us get the perfect images.

This school should take out the Ultrasound Program. Sadly, it's perfectly setup for HDMC to make a whole lot of cash and get away with students not becoming successful. Future students will see it as a good opportunity to get an education with 2 years and "good pay". The school on average has 40 students enrolled (day and night) with about $37,000 tuition loan. That is a huge total of $1,480,000. Outstanding for them but no graduate gets hired without having a good connection at a hospital/clinic. Why? You ask, if the school makes good money to have a good program?? Well the school is connected to terrible extern sites excluding AV and Palmdale Hospitals. All other extern sites hardly let you scan or don't give you a complete schedule (full 32hrs) they give you at the most 2 days a week/ 6hrs a week, and are located 2-3hrs away from the school. And most importantly, HDMC IS NOT CAAHEP ACCREDITED!!!!! No one can take a certification with ARDMS without being a graduate from an accredited school or having a bachelors. This means you'll have to work for 1 year to get your certification, but guess what!? NO ONE WILL HIRE YOU WITHOUT ARDMS! At the awards assembly you'll always hear the head staff saying how so many students got hired from ultrasound but it's ALL BS. The people who get "hired" are really working for free to get their ARDMS signed off. So sad how the school takes advantage of students and does not properly inform them of what the school offers and what it doesn't. Talk to people, ask a lot of questions, do you research before coming here. Get a lot of different opinions, but if you still want to come here ask the school about being CAHEEP accredited, and student success rate, and all important questions that shouldn't be left unanswered.

Horrible experience! Do your research before selecting this school for the sonography program!!! To be eligible to sit for your ARDMS licensure exam after attending here you must have one year of paid experience or your bachelors degree. They do not tell you this of course. So basically you are crossing your fingers and hoping you get hired off of your extern and stay employed for a full year.

DO NOT DO THE ULTRASOUND PROGRAM HERE! The school is not CAAHEP accredited, therefore you WILL NOT be able to take your ARDMS certification once you graduate. Every employer requires you to be ARDMS certified with 1 year experience. Do your research and do yourself a favor and save your time and money. If you go here for ultrasound you will end up broke, unemployed, and very upset. I really hope this helps people, I'm leaving my honest review up here because I wish I would of seen a review like this before signing up and wasting so much time and money. Not everything about the program and school is bad, don't get me wrong. I learned a lot and had great instructors, but the office was not honest with me. Telling me lies about how I would have a high chance of being employed and making good money. I gave my 100% here at high desert got all A's and took my SPI and still have not job. There is no hope for a successful ultrasound career here.

I loved my teacher Miss Jeanette. She s the dental assistant teacher for the night class and she changed my life. I wouldn t have made it through that school without her. She also finds me countless jobs that pay really good, even after I graduated. She does for all of her students! If you are thinking about becoming a DA go with Miss Jeanette she s an amazing woman!!!
