Today, Tuesday, March 27, 2018, wonderfully exploring the area of Nederasselt. Beautiful hidden place on the Maas with Grave on the other side, the locks around the corner and plenty of nature. I have known it here for years but will take a closer look today.
Via the beautiful Maasmolen, the Maas dike with fantastic views and views to the left and right, I come to Stichting het Tweede Huis. Next to it is a large church, of the seven apostles I believe, and a neatly maintained graveyard.
I can't get to the Second House, but through the fence I get into a conversation with an elderly man who is working in the garden together with other older men. He is nice and friendly and tells me that this house used to be a large nunnery, but now belongs to a Foundation that provides temporary shelter seven days a week for people who are not at home or in other difficult circumstances. They are supported by volunteers who guide them, arrange things for them, provide a listening ear. He says that one can stay here for a maximum of one year.
He is one of the volunteers who come to work in the gardens a few times a week. He says he has to go back to work. I thank him, I know enough, I also have to continue. Although I don't know exactly where.

Thanks employees of "My" Second home,

Thanks employees of "My" Second home,
the hospitality, security and your love 21 months that I have been allowed to live with you.
Now also know why I went to live in an old monastery ..........
Without you many men, women, children would have no accommodation.

I am eternally grateful to you for this opportunity and trust, ........ Yv
